OCC: Took me a hour to find a goddamn title. Confrontation between Steve Rogers and Loki. February 23rd, morning)
Loki walked to see the Critic's house not far ahead, but knew better than to go to it and step inside. He would see what it was like there, just not now and certainly not alone. He was a enemy and he knew that. If he popped in and claimed himself a ally, Steve or Tony would knew it to not be true. That or would have a hard time believing it for a while. Other than that, Loki would be too obvious in this realm as a backstabber, still if they had other villains in their ranks he'd fit in fine. Regardless Loki and the villains on his team agreed that he was best to wait, he would be a surprise for them all. Despite the rumors, Loki would be a shock to them, he had a way with making surprises. A smile escaped his lips as he noticed Steve walking out, seemingly irritated or sad. Either one was ok with Loki, he never liked Steve. Too... goody-two shoed or something down that line.
He snuck onto the trees, ignoring the slight branch cracks. He would let Steve find him and then talk, and even(maybe) fight him. Try and find me, little boy scout
People were probably thinking Steve was slacking off since he was taking quite a few breathers. Maybe there was a rumor spreading that he was going through a PTSD when forced to deal with another war. That wasn't the reason he was so unfocused and constantly trying to clear his head. Truthfully, at this point, not even Stevie himself really knew why he was so unfocused. It frustrated him, and it seemed to show when he stepped out the door. Furrowed brows were unmistakably a common trait when one was feeling a negative emotion, and a pair of furrowed brows were knitted just above his blue orbs. He cupped his hands together and brought them up to his mouth, allowing warm air to escape from his mouth to warm his hands.
He began his walk, only to be interrupted by the sound of movement somewhere. It was faint, but audible. One eyebrow quirked upwards and the soldier stopped in his tracks. The corners of his lips pointed at the ground while a formerly furious brow lifted upwards. People didn't just move that fast when someone walked out of a house. His shoulders became tense. That was excessively strange. Once he managed to relax his shoulders again, he decided to investigate. He turned towards the trees, inching his way closer.
"Anyone out there?" he called out, concern laced in his tone. It was debatable if he was concerned for whoever was out there, or just concerned about his own well-being. After all, would you completely trust someone running into the forest? Steve wasn't naive to the point where he instantly trusted another person, god, demigod, robot, or any other creature you threw at him. He wasn't entirely sure if it was a good choice to trust whoever - or whatever - was in the trees.
Loki smirked, seeing Steve's concern riddled in his voice. He saw his movements, seeing the man was frustrated with himself, Loki didn't know why but he was going to find out soon enough. Loki was in a good mood today and it looked like it was going to be a fun little arguement between the mortal good-hearted man and he, the god of mischief, Loki chuckled softly, enough for no-one to hear but himself. Before showing himself, he had to lead Steve to the woods, where the soilder would not get help easily.
So he gasped loudly and with a convincing tone of fear, faking a innocent bystander simply sneaking about and getting "caught" by steve. He then, while still invisable to Steve, ran deeper into the woods, making tons of branch crunch as he ran. Loki wasn't a big fan of faking around with fear, but he knew Steve would be concerned enough to follow, assuming the stranger was scared and was going to wander off.
However, Loki then stood in plain sight in the middle of the woods and waited. He chuckled again, amused with himself, hopefully the show he pulled wasn't pointless
Gasping, more running, branches snapping. It all came by in a blur. Once more Steve thought it was rather strange. He didn't mean to be intimidating and scare someone off. He was just trying to investigate a noise. Without a second thought, the soldier decided to look into what was running through the woods. He ran after his target, his own feet crunching branches on the way. If he wanted to be stealthy, it was a bit late to be a master of the shadows.
It didn't take too long for him to stumble upon the man in the woods. When Steve looked upon who the mysterious figure was, his look of concern died in a flash. Instead of worry, his jaw clenched tightly, oceanic eyes narrowed at the sight of the demigod. Loki. As if Steve's day couldn't get better. It took some serious willpower to not clench his fists too. "Loki, what are you doing here?" His voice was serious, his tone low. It sounded more like a demand to know wy Loki was there rather than a question. He had to tread lightly. Loki was unpredictable, a god amongst men. He was silver-tongued, able to manipulate others quite easily if he wanted to.
Steve was not at all thrilled to be seeing the brother of Thor again.
(OCC: It's ok hun. Love ya. Glad you replied. Now to the jackass side of Loki. Seriously, he's nagging me to make fun of you XD)
Loki's patience was always good, for he knew things would happen all in good time, so he had no problem with Steve's slowness. He heard Steve running and knew it was because the mortal assumed he scared the "victim" off. Then quickly Loki's satisfied grin came to a simply blank expression the minute Steve's emotions changed upon his sight, showing no emotions other than his observing eyes. Loki wanted Steve to stay and amuse him as much as possible therefore he needed to let the mortal guess his emotions. If Steve attacked Loki would do the same thing as he did with the soilder in germany, fight him for Loki was close to beating him up completely if not for Stark. Loki would've been lying if he said the feelings towards Steve weren't the same as Steve's emotions for him. He had a huge grudge againist the avengers, but out of all of them there were three he hated above all else, Natasha, Steve and his acclaimed brother Thor. If Natasha were here he would play his emotions overabundantly just to pick at the tiny details she had. If thor was around he'd just play everything, from apathy to downright disgust. With Steve it was strangely complicated how to play this good-hearted toy like a violin.
Steve's question made his blank expression become his original response to this whole thing: Amusement. He smirked, staying perfectly still but moved his hands behind his back and looking upright, as if to look down on Steve, which he was. He chuckled "It is a pleasure to see you too Captain Rogers. It has been quite some time since Thor imprisoned me" He then gave a quizzing look with his smug smile as he responded this "The question is not what. It is why. But I suppose you know that... Well hopefully you did" He knew Steve had contempt for him, why not play those feelings.
"However since I do not want you to go empty handed. I am here for simple things: Power. You should of guessed that also I assumed but I shall tell you anyway. Do not worry I won't attack manhattan again. I'll simply help The Critic's enemies attack Chicago.... Is that what it is called Captain, Chicago or something far too simple for my tastes?" Loki knew the answer already and if Steve knew better he would know that. He was aware Steve was uncomfortable but Loki was always a person who liked to push people's big red don't touch button. He was the god of lies after all.
