((February 11th sound good? Evening, just for Tony and Steve. IDK what's up with the title.))
It was another cool February evening. The captain needed a breather. He was a soldier, but he needed to get away from the war atmosphere for a bit. There were so many depressed faces around the Critic's house. Steve needed a night where he didn't have to be reminded of how they had people hostage. A part of him wanted to go back and make sure everything was fine and dandy, but he just kept going. The sky was darkening with every step he took, the air seemingly colder as well. Blue eyes wandered around, taking in the atmosphere.
A bench. Steve could sit down on it and just think for a minute. That's just what the captain did. He sat down on the bench, clasping his hands together. It was getting close to Valentine's Day, wasn't it? Steve tried to not think about it much. He knew there were relationships in the army. He knew that some members were depressed to think of their lovers. Steve had to leave behind the girl he loved long ago. He didn't want to think of that kind of hurt. He looked to the ground, until the sound of familiar footsteps hit his ears. He knew who that was. He glanced up, confirming that he was correct.

Valentine's Day was coming up. Normally Tony'd be excited but two things stood in his way of that emotion. One, Bruce and he weren't those type of lovey-dovey people and more of science geeks that showed atoms to prove their love and the other was that many members had their girlfriends, or boyfriends, taken away. Tony may have been a asshole but he did have a good heart. As Tony walked, wearing a leather jacket out of concern from getting a cold, his robotic circle-like heart humming on, he saw Steve.
Steve's gaze met his, and something about it made Tony smile again, he would never admit it but Steve's company was almost as good as Bruce's. They were complete opposites but they both had some things in common so it was a good friendship to keep anyway. Tony smirked and deliberately took a seat next to Steve, without permission to fool with Steve. After a while though he replied "Crowded in the Critic's house huh?"
Crowded in the Critic's house, huh? Those were the words Steve heard out of Tony's mouth when he sat down beside him without any invitation. Steve nodded slowly in response. "Yeah, just needed to clear my head out. It's not as crowded as it used to be, though." Steve spoke with his gaze focused on Tony. "What about you? Going... shopping for something special?"
Steve was referencing that Valentine's Day was coming up. Knowing Tony's attitude, he figured that he must have attracted another woman to call his girlfriend. Unless she was taken, Steve thought that Tony could be walking around for some Valentine's Day shopping. Perhaps Steve was wrong, though. Maybe he was still faithful to Pepper. He had no idea. So much seemed to change in the past several days.

Tony couldn't help but smirk at Steve's question. Steve, as much as he hated to say it, was actually very observant when it came to knowing people's personalities and interests but there was always someplace where steve was wrong. Besides, he knew precisely what Steve was talking about "I hate shopping but nah, nothing special to go to. Don't really feel like it honestly" He didn't really want to tell Steve about his relationship with bruce and that he was planning to invent something for bruce instead of buying him something
Steve listened to Tony talk about how he wasn't going shopping. That was a bit surprising. Maybe he already had something in mind for Valentine's Day, or he was just going to disregard the holiday altogether. If he was faithful to Pepper, it might explain why he wasn't going out shopping. "Nothing special, huh?" Steve asked, raising an eyebrow. There was something that seemed suspicious about Tony. Maybe it was just Steve having a fit of war hysteria, but he doubted it. He wasn't sure what it was, but he felt as if Tony wasn't telling him something. Something that Steve could probably know.

"Nope. Nothing at all" Tony's answer was quick, unfortunately giving a idea he was hiding something. However Tony caught how quick he was and responded "Just feel like not going. If I was going somewhere I would've already went" Tony gave his rival a friendly wink with a assuring smile to stall steve from his quick answer. Steve, in tony's eyes, was already simple-minded anyway
Odd. Tony answered that a bit quickly didn't he? Steve thought that he might be hiding something, but kept his mouth shut. He'd bite the bait for now and leave the topic alone. "Guess that's true, Tony," Steve responded to his latter statement. "After all, it's getting a bit late out. If you started shopping now, I'd be a bit concerned for you. You never go shopping." The blue eyed blonde glanced at the ground for a moment, then back at Tony.
"I don't think I'm doing anything for anyone on Valentine's Day. How to treat a girl in the 40's seems far more different than today. Plus, I've never really been good with women anyway. I'd probably mess up something."

Tony shrugged, steve was right, he hated shopping except for himself. Regardless he turned to his old rival and couldn't help but feel genuinely sorry for him. The poor guy was too old and too far behind. This however also caught him into thinking things he shouldn't be thinking. Tony grinned widely "You're right. This gives me a idea that'll entertain us both" Tony then patiently waited for Steve's response. Tony didn't want to but maybe it would embarrass steve enough to get the old rivalry back, so it MAY be worth a shot
(OCC: Random idea: Tony takes Steve shopping out of pure trolling. Yay or nay?)
((Late, sorry. >.< Troll shopping is a must, though. C:<))
Oh no. Steve wasn't sure that he liked the sound of that. A frown crossed his face, obviously not believing he'd be entertained by whatever Tony had planned. "Stark, I'm not sure I'm going to like this idea of yours. I'm being serious here. But let me hear it just in case. You might surprise me." Steve crossed his arms against his chest, awaiting the older male's response.
Knowing Tony, it probably wasn't going to be something fun in Steve's eyes.

(OCC: Not a problem. Yay! Tony gets to troll!)
Tony, despite himself, snapped his fingers in a "Z" fashion out of pure humor before responding to Steve. He wanted to annoy Steve slightly but also try to make him laugh "You. Me. Shop. Today" He then put his hand up to stop Steve before he could protest "You're right, you were in the fourties but now it's time for you to be to today's standards. Don't worry, it won't be TOO embarrassing" He then got up and walked deliberately expecting Steve to catch up and, like usual, demand what Tony was talking about. Tony grinned devilishly along the way
