Pinocchio smiled genuinely. His new father wouldn't abandon him like his old one did. And he knew together they could beat Critic and the others. It might take some time but they'd get it done.

"I wish people like Critic wouldn't exist. First Stromboli locked me in a cage to keep performing for him. Then I was trapped on an island where kids were turned into donkeys. And then I got swallowed by a whale. And now this. I thought by becoming a real boy I might have a normal life. I guess I was wrong." said Pinocchio.

He frowned at that. But even if his life wouldn't be normal at least he had a new family and friends here. He wouldn't be alone at least and that made him happy.

Ask Thatguy at that moment felt sorry for the boy. It was sad that he was experienced this stuff so quickly, Ask Thatguy wasn't upset he had to deal with that type of stuff he was upset at the fact Pinnochio's dreams were crushed. Looking again to the boy he replied in a assuring manner "You're normal my boy, the strangeness of life will never settle. You must deal with these things and you have, so you must keep dealing with it" Ask Thatguy knew this was sorta talking down to him but he wanted Pinnochio to accept himself

Pinocchio listened to his father glad he had two parents. So that was something normal about his life. Pinocchio nodded in agreement to what he had said.

"So just enjoy when it's normal and adjust to when life is strange? I guess I can do that. Then again when has my life ever been normal. I guess it was exciting and fun outsmarting that whale and getting free. I guess life can be strange but I can't forget it's also fun. So I should try to make the best of it then?" said Pinocchio.

"That's the spirit!" Ask Thatguy patted Pinnochio firmly on the back. He was pleased to hear that he wasn't going to be all negative about himself and rather focus on positive things. Well positive things about the war and the controling in general but that's beside the point. He stopped walking to take a breath of air and mumbled "Soon Critic, your age will be over"
