An Ambush

Bender finally wrapped his hand around the teleportation device. Feeling something hot graze his arm, he lifted the object into the air, flashing the one-fingered salute toward the house. Then he dove to avoid the bullets while sending himself back at the same time. In mid-air, the robot was briefly illuminated with white before dissapearing with a quick flash, all the while cackling mockingly.

Even with all her power and the returning heroes, Maleficent couldn’t stop the other villains from retreating, taking Pinocchio with them. With a snort of disgust, she lowered herself to the ground and shifted back to her fairy form once more before returning to the house and eventually entering the medical ward. Gold eyes scanned the area for the Chick or Morpheus, but they were nowhere to be found. The fairy went over to Jasmine and Grimhilde, seeking familiarity.

“Well, it’s good to see that this was a thorough waste of our time,” she remarked dryly. “Unless there’s something else that requires my immediate attention, I’m going upstairs to see how the children fared.” All things considered, Maleficent was starting to get used to them. Lilo in particular seemed intrigued by her. “At least this will be an interesting story to tell Patch and Lilo.”

Maleficent didn’t yet realize that Patch had gone on the ret-con mission with her or that he had been captured. Oh, was she in for a shock.

[Dr. Linksano/Wayne Schlumper]

Jasmine turned to Maleficent knowing she wouldn't like the news.

"Maleficent we lost Patch. He's their prisoner too." said Jasmine.

Roses nodded weakly knowing the others were just trying to help her. She knew it would take awhile for her to accept what she'd done. It had been an accident but she still didn't like that she'd killed someone. She glanced over at Iheart worried about her. But she sighed in relief knowing she was going to be alright.

"She'll live. At least we didn't lose someone else today." said Roses.

Suddenly a groan was heard as Linksano woke up. He sat up holding his head in pain. He turned seeing he was in the medical bay and then everything came back how he'd shoved Harvey out of the way. He turned seeing Iheart and Ma-Ti were also unconscious while Iheart looked really bad. However he heard them say she would be fine and he sighed in relief.

Marzgurl turned seeing Linksano was awake smiling in relief. At least they had some good news.

"Glad you're awake. But next time if you're going to play hero have a shield or something protecting you." said Marzgurl.

Linksano nodded glancing from Marzgurl to Iheart worried about her along with the rest of the group.

"Linksano! Oh, thank god you are okay!" Harvey had stopped shaking, but was still looking pale. "Don't do that. I'm expendable, your not. But thanks buddy." He hten noticed IHeart and closed his eyes "Poor kid. She'll be okay?"

Paw nodded and grabbed Roses hand. She looked shaken after accidentally killing Holli.

[90's Kid]

90's kid looked to Harvey and then to IHeart again. She really looked bad, she wasn't breathing normally and her burns looked severe. 90's kid then replied "Dude... We got some serious stuff going down here" He wasn't really talking to anyone, he was talking more to himself

Spoony sighed. They not only failed a mission but they had another captive, and another person severely injured. They lost their own captive and were in a physical wreck. Things were all gone out and burnt on the heroes behaf.

Critic then turned to Jasmine and replied in shock "Patch got kiddnapped?!" Critic was now REALLY annoyed that no one told him about this plan. He would definitely demand explaination but not now, when he was already learning the information. He frowned and replied "Damn it. We now have another one to get back"

Snob felt guilty and replied to Splinter "I think it was Facilier who attacked her. I was trying to find the captives but last I saw patch and IHeart, they were being harrassed by the shadowman" He then frowned in guilt. IHeart could've been saved by anyone of them, including himself, and they failed to help. Now the poor girl was forced to tolerate severe pain

However it seemed IHeart was going to make it. For she made slight concious noises, as if she was waking up. She wasn't but the groans made the team know she was alright

[Pushing Up Roses]

Linksano turned to Harvey. When he heard what Harvey said he shook his head.

"You're my friend. You're no more expendable than I am. We need everyone we've have here." said Linksano.

Jasmine frowned sadly.

"Yes. We tried to get him back. Paw, Blackberry, and Gadget were so close to getting Patch, Chick, and Morpheus free while we held the rest of them off. If Mechakara hadn't gotten in the way we'd have them back." said Jasmine.

Roses glanced at Paw glad he had survived his battle with Mechakara. She would have felt awful if he'd been hurt or kidnapped trying to free Chick and the others.

"Aside from Patch at least we know the rest of us are okay or will heal eventually. So that's some good news." said Roses.

Goggles nodded.

"She's right. Iheart will be fine and she'll back to normal in no time. But we've got to come up with a better strategy for next time. So no one gets hurt or captured." said Goggles.

[Linkara]

Linkara groaned as he walked down to see IHeart. "It's all my fault. I was the one who asked everyone to come, it's my responsibility for Patch getting captured, it's me messing up." He let this out while trying to hold back tears.

Harvey closed his eyes "Thank you Linksano, but still, dont do this on a regular basis, throwing yourself into beams that is. We need ya buddy."

[IHeart]

"Linkara. Don't blame yourself. It won't do the poor girl any good" Snob replied. He then turned to Critic and spoke "Don't get mad at the team. I made the idea to keep this from you. I only wanted to help"

"Oh I got you wanted to help. I got that damn part. What I don't get was why wasn't I involved?! But I DIGRESS" Critic then said no more and only sat near IHeart's body. Spoony just observed and replied to Splinter "So is she gonna wake up or will it be longer?" Splinter shrugged sadly, he wasn't so sure about it

90's kid was about to go upstairs but then he shouted excitedly "Dudes! Look! IHeart's wakin' up man!" He smiled and saw IHeart open her eyes but cough loudly and it took a firm pat on the back to stop her coughing. IHeart weakly laid back down on the bed and looked to all the members who seemed to be staring at her. She knew her condition was probably incredibly serious so she tried to speak but found that she couldn't. She only looked around frantically, as if trying to say something

[Linkara]

Paw looked as IHeart tried to speak. He felt so guilty right now, and it didn't help that Linkara had walked out of the room and had started to bang his head against the wall, several times over. He gently took her hand "It's okay, IHeart."

[IHeart]

IHeart was assured then Splinter spoke "You are alright now IHeart. Your courage prevented your death. You have done well" IHeart though instead of smiling looked around still. She then panicked and quickly leaped out of bed but then her voice somehow came back to her as she made a shout of pain. Spoony quickly put her back on the bed and replied assuringly "Stay IHeart. You can't move. We just fixed your injuries"

90's kid replied "Dudes. I think she's trying to say something for real" 90's kid went over and looked at IHeart's brown eyes and she tried to ask her silent question. 90's kid then had the answer click in her head "She's thinking there's a battle still going on guys, she thinks Patch is in danger. She doesn't know where the pup is!" Critic and snob were both shocked and ashamed by the knowledge of what IHeart was trying to ask

[Ma-Ti]

Another groan was heard as Ma-Ti woke up and tried to sit up. He immediately laid back down his head pounding.

"Ow. Why does my head hurt?" said Ma-Ti.

Marzgurl rushed over to make sure Ma-Ti stayed lying down.

"You took a hard hit Ma-Ti from Black Lantern Spoony. But you'll be fine." said Marzgurl.

Ma-Ti looked over at her in confusion.

"Who's Ma-Ti? And this lantern guy? And who are you?" asked Ma-Ti.

Marzgurl gasped in shock not expecting his answer.

"Ma-Ti do you remember anyone here?" asked Marzgurl worried.

Ma-Ti glanced looking around from his position glancing at everyone before shaking his head.

"I'm sorry. I wish I did." said Ma-Ti.

Maleficent froze. She couldn’t have heard right. It was a mistake, yes that was it. Patch was far too young to participate in something so dangerous anyhow. It was a mistake. It had to be.

But there was no mistaking the look on Jasmine’s face.

“What?”

The fairy’s grip on her staff tightened. It was apparently no secret that she was growing fond of the little Dalmatian pup, mostly because he reminded her in many ways of her lost raven Diablo, back when he was just a little hatchling.

“What was he doing there in the first place? He’s a puppy!” She turned on the Critic now, gold eyes flashing. “How could you include him in something like that?”

If I had only stayed behind, I would have been able to stop them from taking him. I could have kept him safe.

[Linkara]

Linkara looked like he was about to throw up as he heard Ma Ti hadn't got his memory. He groaned and silently sank into a chair. Paw ran over to look at Ma Ti. "Really, you don't remember anything at all? Captain Planet? Malachite's Hand? Kickassia? The Brawl? Anything?" This was not going well.

[IHeart]

IHeart widened her eyes at the sight of Patch being kiddnapped. She looked to Maleficent and knew she failed her mission to save him. She wanted to get up and apoligize but she could do neither due to severe pain

Snob stood up for Critic. He made the mess and intended to defend it himself. Critic at first was about to speak but Snob did it for him "Maleficent, don't blame critic please. It was my fault. I take responsibility" It was shocking to see her so upset but then again, it was a innocent dog. He spoke less calmly and more guilty-wise "I made this mess up but I will fix it. We'll get him back"

Critic gasped and went next to Linkara and replied "Ma-Ti. It's me! Nostalgia Criticm you're ma-ti! From captain planet!" Critic looked into Ma-Ti's eyes and replied "You were hit on the head hard by a black lantern named black lantern spoony! You can't remember?!"

Spoony looked to goggles and replied in worry "Great. IHeart's in pain, Patch is gone and Ma-ti doesn't remember anything. Can ANYTHING get ANY worse than it is now!?"

[That Chick With The Goggles]

Goggles frowned turning to Spoony.

"Don't say that. Things are bad enough already." said Goggles.

Ma-Ti turned glancing at Paw and Critic shaking his head sadly.

"I'm sorry. I don't know you. I don't even know who I am." said Ma-Ti.

He turned seeing Iheart and sat up feeling the urge to protect her. He immediately laid back down clutching his head again.

"She's beautiful. I hope she'll be okay." thought Ma-Ti.

Ma-Ti then blushed wondering where that thought came from. There were alot of beautiful girls here but she did look the closest in age to him. Then again he wasn't sure how old he was at all.

Roses turned pulling Critic aside.

"We got to jog his memory somehow. You got any Captain Planet episodes? We could start with those and work up to the specials and reviews he's been in. Surely he'd remember something." said Roses.
