Returning in Defeat

[Dark Nella/Nella Black]

(January 6th. Night. open to everyone on Ask That Guy's side. Facilier returning with Malachite.)

Dark Nella was upstairs. She was drunk having had a few beers. But being a quasidemonic entity it didn't affect her as much as it would a normal human. She was bored and sat on the sofa watching tv. She stopped when watching the news.

"Someone heard what sounded like sword fighting. And then there was a loud explosion and then voices. An eyewitness says they say a small group of people take someone from this alley." said the reporter.

She turns to an old woman standing next to her.

"Yes. I was just about to go to sleep when i heard noises. At first, I thought it was some neighborhood kids playing or pulling a prank. But when I heard the explosion I rushed out. I saw a woman and two men carry someone away. I didn't hear what they said though." said the woman.

"Intriguing. Malachite's battle with the Critic has hit the local news. I'm sure we can give them a much more newsworthy story later. Perhaps give someone an exclusive interview with the future rulers of the planet." said Dark Nella.

Some footsteps are heard as Rita runs in followed by Dr. Smith and Myotismon.

"I saw it on the news and got these two clowns. If his battle's on the news we're in trouble. We can't have the military here. Individually they're no threat to us. But if we sent tanks or jets after us we'd be in trouble. Or at least out of a base." said Rita.

Dark Nella frowned at that. The old witch had a point. They might have to be more careful in the future until they were ready to make themselves known to the world.

[Ask Thatguy]

"That's not all we need to be worried about. Malachite got injured by the Critic. Something tells me he had a powerful weapon that's in his possession" Facilier appeared with the unconcious Malachite in his possession. Putting the body in another couch and finding some potions to heal the man he replied again "I bullshit you not, Critic was just as victorious as we were. It was a tie. Both passed out by both equal power"

"This was on the news?! Malachite was defeated?! We cannot make mistakes here!" Ask Thatguy entered enraged and slamming the wall with his bare hand. He looked a bit pissed mostly because the fact reporters got information it did help though when the reporter replied

"It is unknown but there were no other witnesses to this. So the old woman's claim to the police have been ignored. Until further notice no police and armies shall come over to this quick and strange event"

"We're lucky if there were more people to believe in that old broad we would've had our plans completely changed. We still need to be more secretive regardless. The battle will continue just in a very private location" Ask Thatguy replied determindly

"Shit what do we have here?! How did Malachite get hurt?" Raphael asked actually concerned over a unconcious man's body. The turtle may have not liked the people around him but they were allies so he could have the chance to actually be a bit worried. The battle was tommorrow so the magican wouldn't have the ability to recover.

Dark Nella turned as Facilier arrived with Malachite as more of her allies came in.

"How did the Critic defeat him? I know we couldn't restore Malachite back to full power but he still was one of the best fighters I've ever seen. It doesn't make sense. I could understand if it was someone powerful like Maleficent. At least she has magic. He must have something. Some magical artifact that was able to beat Malachite." said Dark Nella.

She paused thinking about it. Back before she'd been repossessed she'd stood in for the Nostalgia Chick's stunt double during the fight against Malachite. Nothing any of the reviewers had done had succeeded. Not whips, not machine guns, not even Linkara's magic gun. It had been only been one thing. Ma-ti's ring.

"The only thing that beat him before was a magical ring. But it vanished with the gauntlet and Malachite during the battle. He must have found that ring. This isn't good. That ring also has the power of telepathy. It's limited though. We have to be close enough for him to use it. But he could hear our plans in battle if he realizes it. We must block our minds through magic or science and get that ring." said Dark Nella.

"Well at least that old woman is believed to be a nut. We won't have to worry about her." said Myotismon, chuckling.

"A ring that could defeat Malachite and has telepathy. Interesting." said Rita.

"Well I'm use we can build something like that. But I'm not sure if we can finish it before the battle though." said Dr. Smith.

"Do your best. Facilier, Rita, and I can try to search for a magical way to block telepathy. We can't take the risk Critic or one of his fools uses the ring and tries to gain information from us." said Dark Nella.

[Dr. Insano]

"Interesting. Apparently the critic, the man who doesn't believe in magic, actually uses it" Insano laughed. He looked to the body of Malachite. In unamusement he looked to Facilier who was healing him and replied "So the ring is still with the critic eh? Well since we have magic I'm afraid it's up to Rita and Facilier now"

"No worries. They won't hear a thought outta your heads. I have a chant I've been wanting to use sometime. I'll use it at the battle" Facilier replied with a smirk as he put more bandages on the man lying down. He looked at Malachite in disappointment "Poor fella. Critic's a fool who's messing with the wrong team"

"Damn right" Raphael replied showing his weapons out. He was pretty pissed off with the fact his enemy who had his father, hurt an ally. Raphael was more and more convinced the critic was the bad guy of the picture

Dark Nella nodded. She was glad one thing was being taken care of.

"But if that ring can hurt him it might hurt us. We must destroy it before it can be used against us again. Next time Critic and his allies won't stop at injuries." said Dark Nella.

"Yes. Or even better we swap it out with a fake. I'd love to see their reaction when they try to use the ring and nothing happens." said Rita.

"Yes but it might be hard to steal the ring off him in a battle. If we don't get it tomorrow I say we attack at nightfall. Slip in and take the ring and anything else they can use against us." said Myotismon.

"A good idea. Most of them would be asleep at night and be off their guard. A perfect time to attack. But I'm sure we can get the ring tomorrow." said Dr. Smith.

[Dr. Insano]

"Malachite and Critic were in the same condition. It's a big doubt the idiot will be recovered enough to see us. His second leader or girlfriend" Facilier made quotation marks with his fingers at girlfriend "Will be. So either them or someone critic trusts the most will have it so I'll assume they won't really know how to use it"

"Whoever has it. Steal it however you can" Ask thatguy commanded. Ask Thatguy looked to Rita and asked "Will your magic be destructive enough to send the ring helder flying? If so do so" Ask Thatguy never doubted Rita but he was a bit pissed at the fact a man of his was down. It just made his confidence low

"Shame Critic ain't there. I'd pound his face in" Raphael commented bitterly before looking to Nella and asking "No offense but how long will it take for Malachite's recovery?" Raphael asked this because he felt nervous of the battle. His father was captured and he wanted a chance to break the poor soul out

"So at least Critic's out of the way." said Dark Nella.

She leaned over whispering to Ask That Guy.

"Our plan for Snob works even better now. With Critic injured we could easily make the others think he's trying to take over." said Dark Nella.

[Ask Thatguy]

"Indeed. Not to mention easier to convince the snob that Critic has no idea how to control a army" Ask Thatguy replied darkly. He rubbed his hands a bit provoctively while speaking. He grinned a bit like a madman again now

Insano said nothing only looked to Facilier "Well answer the turtle. How long will it take?"

"A week or so" Facilier said a bit annoyed with the questions. He looked to the nearing turtle "You mind boy? I need to work here"

Raphael shrugged and sat near the bar. Relieved but a bit unamused. He was thinking of the battle still.

[Dr. Zachary Smith]

Malachite began moaning and speaking as if he was fighting a battle in his dreams.

"I'm going to get you Critic. But first, i go after her instead. the one you care about....."

Dark Nella glanced at Malachite in surprise before shrugging it off. He was probably threatening to kill one the reviewers. But at least he was alive. She stepped back allowing Facilier to continue treating him.

"Malachite may be down but at least he took Critic with him. The fool should have prepared for the ring but at least he completed his task. Now the other fools will be scared, cautious, and play right into our hands." said Dark Nella.

"I can't wait to see their faces tomorrow. It's going to be a great battle." said Rita.

"Yes. We can't possibly lose tomorrow. They're going to wish they were the ones unconscious." said Dr. Smith, chuckling.

"Well by the end of the battle I'm sure most of them will be." said Dark Nella, chuckling.

[Dr. Insano]

"Christ. That ring was powerful. These wounds will take forever to get rid of" Facilier complained out loud. He couldn't believe someone with no power actually had power.

"Hmmm. This ring may be of some use. Probably enough to wipe the heroes clean off!" Insano commented as he sat on a couch. He saw Raph just stand on the sidelines and Ask Thatguy just ponder to himself

[Dark Nella/Nella Black]

Dark Nella turned to Insano glancing at Raphael who hadn't noticed Insano's slip. She walked over to him pulling him aside.

"You idiot. You know we can't speak freely with Raphael in the room. We can't have him going off telling our secrets to Critic and the other fools. He's not as easy to fool as Pinocchio. Unless you have a way to trap him if necessary." whispered Dark Nella.

[Ask Thatguy]

Without a second glance, Insano bit his lip a tad. He had a feeling that would be a disadvantage to have a goodhearted anti-hero on their side. He whispered back "My apoligies I didn't get the fact he was a heroic person... I'll have to think of something to restrain him" He tried not to look at Raphael then but he did anyway. The turtle was not paying attention. He just was gulping down a small shot of beer

"Do that quickly and discreetly of course. At least plant a tracker on him or something so if he does get out we'd know about it." whispered Dark Nella.

"I'm not certain. But between Facilier, Dark Nella, and myself we should be able to get the ring from whoever holds it." said Rita.

"I agree. The ring may have a limited supply. It defeated Malachite twice only because the it was going up against one sorceror. Perhaps we can overload it. It's better to destroy it then have it used against us." said Dark Nella.

"I'm betting one of the reviewers will mostly likely be wearing it. Since Linkara and Linksano already have a large collection of weapons I'm leaning towards The Cinema Snob or The Nostalgia Chick." said Dr. Smith.

Rita turned to Dr. Smith and Dr. Insano as they sort of reminded her of Finster but a bit crazier as an idea sprung into her head.

"Do you thing you two can create a strong magnet that could pull the ring away from them?" asked Rita.

"It's possible. We should be able to make one ready for tomorrow's battle. What do you think Insano?" asked Dr. Smith.

[Ask Thatguy]

"Whenever we can we can decide who officially keeps it once we actually GET it" Facilier commented a tad. While still working on Malachite who seemed to not be waking up.

Insano nodded to Dark Nella but then paid attention to Smith and replied darkly "Certainly we can. Smith and I can start right now if Ask Thatguy decrees it" He looked to Ask Thatguy

Ask Thatguy pondered for a short time before answering. He then looked to the two scientists and replied "Yes. Make it so. Do what it takes and don't stop until you do so"

[Mechakara]

Rita nodded glad they could find a way to steal it. A few minutes later the door burst open. Rita raises her wand while Dark Nella raises her hand ready to blast someone with her electricity. Dr. Smith pulls out a gadget as Myotismon summons his energy whip.

"Are we being attacked?" asked Rita.

A figure stepped out surprising most of them.

"Linkara! What are you doing here?" asked Rita.

Dark Nella however immediately lowered her hands letting out a laugh.

"What? He's the enemy. Don't let down your guard." said Rita.

Dark Nella glared at the witch.

"I never let down my guard. That's not Linkara. It's Mechakara. One Of Linkara's greatest foes. Although I was sure he had died months ago." said Dark Nella.

"A mistake that will not happen again I assure you. Dr. Insano's the one who helped restore me. And I came here to help you." said Mechakara.

"Welcome to the team then. Glad to have you aboard." said Dark Nella.

She smirked glancing at Ask That Guy. With Mechakara on their side they'd have added muscle to replace the loss of Malachite while he recovered.

Dr. Smith glanced at Dr. Insano impressed.

"Very impressive. It must have taken weeks to rebuild him." said Dr. Smith.
