A strong one would have eliminated his enemies like I did with my brother. Because he let you and our cubs live Kovu will grow up one day to take over the Pridelands. I just hope I'm there to see it." said Scar.

Rita walked out into the woods surprised to see Scar talking with another lioness.

"Hello. Have you come to join our army?" asked Rita curious.

“Your brother always was too softhearted to be rule the Pridelands,” Zira remarked with a sigh, carefully avoiding the use of Mufasa’s name – when she’d last been around Scar, he couldn’t stand to hear it, and she didn’t think his attitude would have improved much after death. “Nothing like you, my king,” she purred, winding her body around his. “At least we won’t have to deal with him when we return. Just his son, and once we can get him alone…”

She broke off there and let out a dark chuckle, running her claws through the snow as though it were the king’s flesh.

“Of course you’ll be there to see it,” Zira said firmly, pressing herself closer to Scar. She had lost him once before and refused to consider the possibility that it could happen again. She wouldn’t let it happen again. “Don’t talk like –”

The rustle of brush cut her off, and on instinct, the red-eyed lioness’s body shifted to a crouch, muscles tightened and ready to spring at the unsuspecting foe.

Before she could attack, said foe – a bizarre-looking creature if ever Zira had seen one – asked if she wanted to join their army. Zira looked at Scar out of the corner of her eye, silently asking if this female was one of his allies.

"I don't plan on dying. But I don't know how long it will take to win this war or if there is a way back home. Kovu could grow up and rule the Pridelands while we're stuck here." said Scar.

He looked up as Rita joined them.

"Good morning Rita. This is my mate Zira. I've asked her to join our army and she said yes." said Scar.

Rita smiled being polite. While inwardly fuming at another powerful lion joining the group. The more members they got the less likely she and Faciiler would be able to take over.

"Welcome to the army then. I'm Rita Repulsa, a sorceress. I can perform magic." said Rita.

Scar turned to Zira in case she didn't know what magic was.

"She's like Rafiki only much stronger and very evil." said Scar.

No matter what the context, the idea of Kovu growing up to rule the Pridelands should have pleased his adoptive mother immensely, but Zira frowned. It was just as much her revenge as it was Scar’s – she deserved to be able to see all the pieces fall into place. It was the very least of what was owed to her.

She watched and listened as Scar addressed the odd-looking woman, Rita, and introduced her. So this was what a human looked like. Somehow, Zira hadn’t imagined them to look so… bright. Her introduction finished, the red-eyed lioness straightened up from her hunter’s crouch, trying to look regal once more.

“It’s just as Scar says. I’m here to join your army.”

Dr. Insano was the next person to arrive. He was rather curious himself and was interested in the areas of the woods. He then saw Zira, Rita and scar and responded "Well! Another lion! Interesting!" He then heard her name and other things, he smiled responding "Welcome then. I'm Dr. Insano"
