Critic smiled nervously as Maleficent grinned at him. Fuck. He knew he played a game that was risky but he knew that her help was worth it. Critic then patiently observed the ring and in fear went behind the boy protectively, putting his hands around Ma-Ti's shoulders. Then the ring oozed out a black mist and critic knew that was the thing keeping ma-ti from using it and he felt a personal anger for it. That was until it disappeared. Then he saw Maleficent collasped and after he registered the fact the magic was powerful enough to make her fall like that, Critic went over to her side and responded "Maleficent. Are... Are you alright?"
Ma-Ti rushed over to her putting the ring on the table now that it was cured. He hadn't wanted to hurt her to get his ring back. No wonder she wanted a favor from Critic if this could happen.
"Are you alright? Should I get Splinter?" asked Ma-Ti.
Far from being touched by Critic and Ma-Ti’s concern for her well-being, Maleficent’s face twisted into a frown. She felt weak enough as it was – she didn’t need them reminding her, however unintentionally.
“I’m fine,” she hissed, waving them away with an impatient hand and forcing herself to stand. Her legs wobbled slightly, and she had to grab the arm of the couch for support. Oh, this was humiliating. “I just need to lie down for a while, that’s all.”
With slow, tentative steps, the fairy moved to the staircase, intending to go up to her bedroom and do just that. The rest of her day was pretty much shot now.
Before leaving, she turned and locked her eyes to Critic’s once more.

Critic stepped back as Maleficent shooed him away. He didn't want to force her any ideas and just stepped back as far away as possible. He nodded nervously as Maleficent's eyes made in contact with his. He knew that he was going to have to pay back, not today but someday. He went over to Ma-Ti as Maleficent went away then once she was completely gone he sat on the couch and took off his glasses so he could wipe his face in tiredness. He then put his glasses back on and smirked to Ma-Ti "Well... Put it on Ma-Ti. Let's see how it looks on you"

Critic at the moment only thought hopefully and when he felt that all-too familiar phyic link he had with Ma-Ti before his powers were gone, he grinned calmly. He then jumped as the powers in the ring worked magnificently and he got so excited, he jumped in his chair like a nine year old boy on christmas. He was so overjoyed he picked up Ma-Ti and hugged him, very much like a father with his son passing a test or getting married.
"You have your powers again! You have your powers again! You finally have your ring back!" Critic cheered hysterically
Ma-Ti nodded and smiled. His powers were back. Now he could do some good.
"I've finally have my ring back. It felt wrong not to have it on my finger. I'm glad you and Chick were able to use it. It shows you have a lot of heart." said Ma-Ti.
He smiled hinting at the growing relationship between them.
"Now with this ring back no way Facilier or the others can stop us. This ring will hold them off for sure until we can find a way to end this war." said Ma-Ti.

"Damn right I got some heart!" Critic replied too excited to stay humble about his growing self, he also eventually put down Ma-ti. He grew serious when Ma-Ti commented that facilier and the villains would not be able to stop them now. He smiled less excitedly and more relaxed and patted the boy's shoulder. He nodded in agreement "Yep. With you and your powers we'll get rid of those assholes that doubted you in the first place. Also, Facilier will eat his words he said to you"
Ma-Ti smiled also excited as Critic put him down. He sighed as a flash of guilt as he glanced down at the ring as his earlier conversation with Iheart a few weeks ago came back to him. He had his ring back but the other Planeteers in his world were probably dead or locked in a dungeon somewhere. Without his ring.... without Captain Planet.... there's no way they could survive. He wiped tears from his face trying to pass it of as happiness. He knew what he'd have to do. If even there was the slightest chances his friends were alive, that his world could still be saved he had to take it. He had to find a way back to his world. Even if meant saying goodbye to this world and everyone he'd met in the past four years including Iheart and Critic. But they had no way to get back so he might as well forget about it for now. If he found a way back he'd rescue his friends or avenge them if they were dead. He focused back on the conversation and nodded to Critic.
"Facilier will pay what he did to Iheart, to Goggles, to Spoony, and to me. I won't let him get away with what he's done." said Ma-Ti.
