Scroop had noticed a newer arrival lately. A young man named Greg. Oh he'd tried to avoid the man but he just seemed to pop up a lot. And Scroop found himself drawn to him and not sure why. But he'd never said a word to him not sure if the human was a member or a slave. After all he was an alien spider. Surely a human wouldn't want to befriend him anyway. But as the days went on his curiosity had developed into something more.
"Great. I've fallen for a human. A human who probably doesn't even notice me. Mr. Arrow, Flint, and the others are probably laughing at me in their graves." said Scroop.
He paused glancing down at his phone at the one picture he'd managed of Greg. He'd gotten it from a security camera without anyone noticing and he felt his frown go as he smiled.
"Perhaps if things had been different we could have been together Greg." said Scroop.
He envied some of the others. Malachite and Facilier had found each other and kids. And there were other couples forming in the army. So why couldxn't he find happiness too. He slammed his fist onto the counter as he set his phone down sadly.
"I guess it just wasn't meant to be." said Scroop.

Greg knew there was something between him and Scroop. He was too smart to ignore or deny it. Greg was technically a cyborg but was just as human as any other human. The cyborg was trying desperately to make friends. Mostly to protect himself and also to seek out what his heart really wanted. A place to belong. Scroop, any time the two were in the same room, would cause Greg to just deliberately go out of his way to befriend him. The creature made him feel safe. Sure, he wasn't perfect and had a attitude but Greg could see the good in him. He could see how gentle and truly kind the creature was underneath his tough exterior. Greg decided to just open up and see where it lead. He wasn't sure Scroop felt the same but Greg was deciding the risk was worth it.
He found the spider-creature in the kitchen. Talking to himself about how he had feelings but felt like it wasn't possible. Greg watched as the spider clearly had feelings for him but seemed quite sure he'd be rejected. Greg's heart sank, saddened that the creature felt so sure he'd be alone. Greg went over, replying gently "It's more possible than you think" Greg blushed, seeing he spooked the creature "Sorry. I didn't want to scare you. I just thought we should talk" Greg cautiously sat beside Scroop, replying "I thought we needed to clear the air"
