Why Did It Have To Be Water? (Pete)

[Goofy Goof]

July 27th. Evening.

Goofy groaned as he woke but realized he one of his arms and legs was still shackled to Pete. Thanks to a mishap he and Pete had fallen over a cliff and he'd hit his head. He'd blacked out after that. Pete must have got them to safety somehow. He guessed their weapons and communicators had been lost in the fall which meant they were on their own. He winced as he sat up before realizing just where they were. They were on a river and he paused nervously.

"That's right. We did fall close to a waterfall. Oh no. Water." said Goofy.

He paused shivering. He'd braved water so many times to spend with his son or to hide his secret. His fear of water but now they were stranded in the middle of the river. And they might be able to swim to shore if they weren't cuffed but together could be a problem.

"Pete! You awake? We got to get to shore." said Goofy.

In his panic he began trying to paddle to shore but with only one hand free he was just spinning the raft in circles.

[Pete]

"W-What happened?"

Pete had successfully made the two survive the cliff fall by, unconsciously, using his body to protect Goofy while using some strength to prevent himself getting killed. He also used whatever strength he had to avoid the waterfall like a plague. But he got hit in the head on a river rock not long after. He awoke to Goofy's panicked voice, and he couldn't help but be confused "Goof?" He then felt his body weight get wetter and he realized they both were hand-cuffed and in the river. Goofy was paddling for his life and Pete coughed out water as he realized what Goofy was trying to say.

"Keep paddling goof!" Pete replied, too panicked to protest to Goofy's demands. Pete tried his best to help by paddling more and more, which in essence pulled Goofy more thanks to the handcuffs. Pete growled "That scientist friend of yours is to blame for this I hope you know that!"

Goofy looked up hearing Pete.

"We're stuck in the river. We got to get to shore." replied Goofy.

He nodded trying to help to paddle but he was pulled backward by Pete.

"I know. She was just trying to capture you because she thought you were the enemy. And well you were. But I came to that fight to try to save you and bring you back. Maxie's in the army and so are a few others like Donald and Mickey. But PJ's in Facilier's army, Pete. Probably took him because he's your son. If Maxie was over there I'd be storming the place by now." said Goofy.

He paused with a grin.

"Once we get out of this we find a way to rescue your son." mentioned Goofy.

He kept paddling trying to focus on the shore and he sighed in relief when they reached it only for the ship to hit some rocks and break apart as it collapsed into the water. And Goofy panicked falling into the shallow water. But thankfully he didn't drown as he was just soaking wet. He shivered just the same and stumbled to his feet offering up a hand to help Pete get up.

"I think I lost everything in the fall. Did you have anything? Food? A flashlight? It'll be dark in a few hours. So if we can't find a way out of here we may need to make camp. And get some firewood. Although without a tent we may need to find a place like a cave to sleep." replied Goofy.

As he shook himself free from the water he smiled weakly at Pete.

"Come on. Let's get away from the river. Although we may want to see if we can find something to carry it in. If we get too far we may not have another source of water." said Goofy.
