Penny was nervous as she walked into the woods. Twice she'd come in here and they'd run into danger. But she wasn't scared. She liked playing in the woods. At least that's what she was telling herself. But the house was so boring after awhile and the woods were the only place close by they could all run around and play. As she kept running she hurt a hoot of an owl and jumped.
"Calm down. It's just an owl." said Penny.
She giggled and kept going until she heard some rustling and she stepped back bumping into a tree.
"Who's there?" asked Penny.
She was starting to regret coming out here alone. What if the ghosts were back? What if one of the other armies was out here? She paused bolting trying to run home only to crash into something. Or someone.
"Leave me alone, you ghosts! You don't own these woods!" said Penny.
She paused realizing she hadn't bumped into a ghost and blushed seeing it was Buddy.
"Sorry. I guess I got a little scared." said Penny.
Like Penny, Buddy was bored himself. Immensely bored. And felt at a loss of what to do. He had been a bit more protective than usual over penny as the time went on. Being in a large, massive fun group made buddy get distracted due to being a social butterfly. But anytime he and penny were together, buddy felt this interest in her compared to the other female puppies. So seeing her run off made him even more curious to run into the woods alongside her. As he ran, he ran into bushes, causing rustling by accident.
He then heard the fear in penny's voice and felt it best to pacify her by showing himself quickly. He came beside her, standing in a submissive way to assure her "Whoa. Easy there penny. It's just me" He then smiled a bit as she apologized "Ah don't worry about it. If I saw ghosts, I'd be nervous too" He then smirked amusedly "Guess you wanted a evening run. Can't say I blame ya. The house is boring as heck sometimes"
"Thank goodness. The last time we wandered into a cave and ran into some ghosts. They captured a couple of us and tried to scare and separate us. We barely managed to escape. But the house can get so boring after awhle. It's not like back home where we have a whole farm to explore. The woods are the closest we got." replied Penny.
She nodded.
"I probably shouldn't travel alone anymore. It's not safe with the war or those ghosts." said Penny.
