Sleep Troubles (Donatello)

[Willie]

(ooc: July 16th. Afternoon.)

Willie had tried for weeks to fix his sleeping. He'd tried magic, sleeping pills, milk, stories, and anything el,se he could find but things either didn't work or just wore off. The only thing had worked was lullabies and the harp lady wasn't here. He had tried recording other people in the army singing. Some only sang in private like when they just woke up or were showering. He had left the recorders around the house trying to record people singing but so far no one had been able to help him.

He'd given up throwing away most of the tapes until he found one with a very beautiful voice. He could feel his eyes drooping already as he placed it near his bed. He yawned and drifted to sleep forgetting to turn it off so the song would keep repeating.

- Time Skip -

Willie yawned waking up having slept for hours and realized the tape player had kept playing. He was about to turn it off when heard a knock at the door. He grabbed the tape player rushing to the door. As he opened the door he tries to turn it off instead he broke it. Furious he slammed it to the ground in frustration before forgetting he had a guest.

"I'm sorry. I finally got more than a little sleep. I kind of recorded people singing around here, but most didn't help me. But then I found the most beautiful voice I ever heard and it sends me to sleep. And then I broke it before I figured out who it was." said Willie.

He sighed.

"Guess I have to go back not sleeping much." said Willie.

He paused realizing it was Donny and grinned.

"Donny! It's good to see you. Sometimes I think you would spend every second in the lab if you could." said Willie.

(OCC: We now have two willie/Donny threads and I'm so happy. I figured that maybe Donny can fix the tape recorder, at least temporarily. That way he learns it was HIM that willie fell asleep too leading to Donny being willing to sing for him. Donny had felt a lot less anxious than he had in a while thanks to being open and honest about his feelings for willie. The two, when they weren't busy, spent time together and always embraced it. Donny love spending time with willie, he loved willie in general. He felt shame that he was so busy but he was absolutely relieved that willie was extremely understanding. Then again, he supposed willie related because many magic members needed his help too. But they always made up for it when they could. This relationship made him genuinely so happy. He even started to sing in the lab. Back at home, Donny tended to sing to himself, mostly when in a good mood or having fun in his lab. He hadn't sang in a long time though, distracted by many changes in his life. But now he was, the only people that knew he could sing was april, mikey(because he harassed him about it) and master splinter. All three told him he was good, but Donny was insecure and preferred to keep it to himself. So he did.

Unbeknownst to him, or willie at the moment, he was caught in a tape recorder of willie's that managed to catch him singing one morning. Donny sang quite calmly due to actually being calm thanks to working on simple projects for next battles. Critic and Chick insisted, since he was the best at weaponry and projects about being able to escape a fight. He sang to himself, because he was thinking of the night before where he and willie had a relatively nice night chilling in the backyard. Where both he and willie talked about simple things and comforting each other about their problems. So yes, willie was on his mind at the time. He didn't mind not sharing a room with willie due to seeing him often anyway, besides he and Leo shared a room due to leo and him getting along often. Plus leo and his room was literally next door to the lab and willie's room was literally a minute walk there.

He had finally gotten out of the lab when he immediately went to go see willie. He always made sure to check on him whenever he could. The lab was near willie's room and Donny promised himself that even in his busiest day he checked on willie. So he entered the room knocking the door, hearing willie's voice but due to him rushing he couldn't exactly hear it. Then suddenly he saw willie open the door, while breaking his tape recorder by accident. Donny listened to him ramble that he broke his tape recorder, explaining he had trouble sleeping and was recording singing as it helped him. Donny, felt immense guilt and shame. He knew willie was having problems sleeping and tried to help but willie had told him he was going to handle it, and Donny didn't want to push him too hard. But now that he realized it was pretty bad, it filled Donny with guilt. Donny's heart broke. He was so focused on work that he was unaware his love was struggling. Donny couldn't even bring himself to laugh at willie's joke. He went over, hugging willie tightly, giving him a kiss.

"Honestly willie. If I could, I'd prefer to spend any second of my free time with you" He then hugged him again "I knew you were having problems sleeping but I didn't know how bad it was. I'm so sorry" He then turned to see the tape recorder and replied determinedly "Let me fix it! It may be broken but I can probably put it back together for you. I want you to sleep better" He then sighed guiltily "I wish I wasn't so damn busy. I wish I could do better for you like you do for me"

[Willie]

Willie grinned at him.

"I know. But you're one of the smartest people in this army. And a good fighter too. They need you in the lab to make inventions or repair ones that break. You have many talents. Maybe you could cut back some and all do shifts more. Gives you all more time to sleep and relax more with your loved ones. There are a lot of other smart people here like Tony and Sherlock. That you could take an extra few hours off and relax. Sometimes a break can make you see something you were stuck on before. It's helped me with my magic before." replied Willie.

He nodded.

"It's alright. Maybe I could try making a new bed with my powers." said Willie.

He grinned again at Donny's words.

"You think you could fix it? Well, I guess it won't hurt to try. I'm sure the tape is probably ruined though." said Willie, with a sigh.
