Firey Admiration(Ruber)

(OCC: June 13th, evening. Bonding/romance thread between ruber and raphael)

"Okay raphie. You can do this. Just say 'hey date me'. Be cool" Raph muttered to himself. He failed miserably with Venus and the more he thought about it, the more he realized it simply wasn't meant to be. But with his friend ruber, he felt a stronger crush. To the point where it definitely wasn't a crush anymore. He didn't think ruber would be into him but he saw his brothers at least try and felt inspired to do the same. He had to. It was better than nothing. He just had to try. Raph gulped nervously as he waited for ruber to come out on the back porch. He was glad ruber agreed. He then turned to see ruber and raphael smiled nervously. He took the deepest breath of his life and replied "Hey ruber. I wanna be honest with you about something"

He looked down, nervously tightening his red bandana as he spoke "Look I know I'm kind of ugly and sort of lame. But I want you to know I... well, yknow. I want you to know that I have a lot of feelings for ya" He sighed "I didn't think you'd like me but... I want you to know that I really like you. If you are creeped out and aren't interested I totally get it but it's best you know now" He looked up at ruber and replied "You mean a lot to me, ruber. I wanna maybe, if you want, to date you"

(ooc: i aged him down from 35 to 28 since there was the 10 year gap in the movie after his first attempt to stop arthur was canon in his film.)

Ruber was nervous. He'd developed a crush on the younger turtle. And yet felt he didn't deserve it. He'd served in all three armies, two willingly and this one by force. At least at first. Then he began to serve this place willingly. And made friends. Raphael, Hal, and Joe to name a few. But Raphael had always been special. Even in his maddened state, he had felt a pull towards the turtle but he hadn't really had friends before he came to this war. Except for his griffin and he'd treated him badly especially near the end. He was pulled from his thoughts as Raphael found him and he smiled. He was always glad to see his friend and crush.

"Hello Raphael." said Ruber.

He raised an eyebrow.

"Ugly? Lame? What are you talking about?" asked Ruber.

He froze in shock as Raphael's words.

"No. I am very interested. But don't be so down on yourself. You're handsome, charming, and very cool. I admit I tried to find excuses to hang out with you even back when we're both in Ask That Guy's. I was too mad to notice why at the time but I think I got a crush on you even back then." said Ru ber.

He took Raphael's hand in his owns.

"I want to date you as well. If you can put up with an old man like me. I'm 28 years old. You think you won't want someone younger?" said Ruber.

He paused pulling Raphael into a kiss before he could reply.

"Sorry. I had to do that at least once. To make sure this wasn't a dream. Or if you change your mind." said Ruber.

Raphael had been anxious to be honest with feelings he had for a while. He tried to deny it but he just couldn't. All his brothers were with boyfriends, why couldn't he be with one? Not to mention ruber was always there for him. When they were during ask thatguy's, the two had a friendship, but when they came here that friendship blossomed so much more. To the point where raph was confronted that the reason he always found himself liking ruber as much as he did was due to having romantic interest. He then blushed as ruber confronted him on his self talk. He looked down "I mean I ain't that attractive"

He then widened his eyes as ruber not only said he was interested, but praised him. Saying he was attractive, fun and cool. He was shocked in his own way. He asked earnestly "Really? You've had feelings for me? All this time I thought it was one sided. I've been finding excuses to hang out with ya too" He beamed then, smiling in delight as the feeling was mutual and his love interest was into him. He then was shocked a bit as ruber put HIMSELF down, calling himself old. Raphael went to correct him "Hey! You're not that ol---" Suddenly without warning ruber kissed him. Raphael tenderly kissed back, pulling ruber close to him as he embraced the feeling and sensation of finally being able to kiss him.

He then felt ruber pull back, and reply he wanted to do that in case raphael changed his mind. Raphael beamed, smiling shyly before replying earnestly "Ruber, I don't care if you're twenty eight or three hundred and eight. I want you" He then got a bit braver, replying "And I definitely gotta say. You're a great kisser. In fact I wanna do it again" He then took ruber's face in gently. He then pressed his lips into ruber's, kissing him passionately and earnestly, wanting ruber to believe that raphael only wanted him and was into him.

Ruber shook his head.

"Of course you are. You're amazing. I'm the one who's not attractive. " said Ruber.

Ruber chuckled.

"Of course I have. I admit I was quite jealous of Venus. I saw the way you looked at her. I thought I'd missed my chance." said Ruber.

He grinned as Raphael said he wasn't that old.

"I feel like it sometimes." said Ruber.

He paused at Raphael's words and his grin grew.

"I'm glad we want each other. " said Ruber.

Ruber chuckled.

"So are you." said Ruber.

Soon they were kissing again as he held him close. He pulled back for a grin and then groaned.

"Oh great. Now I'm going to have three overprotective brothers and your father. Do you think there's a way I could get them to like me? Mikey knew me when I was in Ask That Guy's and Leo when I was in Facilier's. But I didn't really spend much time with either of them. And Donny and Splinter may still view me as a threat. I'm a former villain." said Ruber.

Raphael was a bit surprised and saddened as Ruber found himself unattractive. While he appreciated that ruber found him handsome, he didn't want ruber to say rude stuff about himself. He replied sincerely, and earnestly "Stop! You are handsome! If I'm not allowed to talk bad about myself than neither are you!" He then listened as ruber understandably felt worried that he lost his chance cause of raphael's reaction to venus. Raphael blushed in a bit of awkward embarrassment at that. The whole thing was a crush and was honestly a fluke. He confessed honestly "Yeah venus was good lookin' but not as good lookin' as you. Honestly, that never was gonna go anywhere. I guess thought I wouldn't ever get a chance with you but I'm glad we're being honest with each other now"

Raphael smiled as ruber expressed relief and the both of them finally reached this understanding. Now that their feelings were known, they could persue each other. After their second kiss, ruber started to worry about his family, raphael understood. His past endeavors and being a villain was a understandable worry. But raphael knew he was not in his right mind at the time, and that he was changing for the better. Raphael took a deep breath to ponder before smiling assuringly "Don't worry about sensei. Splinter may look way too stern but he's the most forgiving and understanding person I know. My whole family is. My bros and sensei will understand that you've changed and are willing to continue to change"

He then replied sincerely "Ruber, you changed from your past. I've seen the effort. Besides, Don and Leo will understand considering they had to deal with me and mikey being on a opposite side. Besides, I've lost my temper many times" He then said, with a regretful and self depreciating tone "If they can forgive me, they can definitely forgive you" He then affectionately held ruber's hand replying "Just be honest, be yourself. That'll work out in the long run"

Ruber blushed at the adomishment.

"No one's ever cared for me before. I figured something was wrong with me. But I'll try." replied Ruber.

Ruber grinned at Raphael's words.

"You really think I'm good looking?" asked Ruber.

Ruber relaxed a little as Raphael said his family would understand.

"I hope so." said Ruber.

Ruber chuckled.

"I guess we make quite a fiery pair with our tempers. Will definitely be an exciting and passionate romance. I look forward to every moment of it. Even if I'm arguing with you. Because then I know we'll be making up right after." replied Ruber.

Ruber nodded.

"I'll try. But being myself got me in trouble and I went mad and tried to take over a kingdom in my world. So maybe I should try to be better." said Ruber.
