Don't Know What To Do (Kyra)

[Dar/Beastmaster]

(May 27th. Evening.)

Dar walked through the house nervously. Vyce had dismissed him for the evening. He had no tasks to do. Something he'd gotten used to the past couple months. He missed his old life in the jungle and his friends. He'd grown distant from Tao and Arina and even Kyra. As much as he wanted to spend time with all of them he felt he had to protect them more. And Vyce could be a kind master but could also be a cruel master. He made Zad and Voden look like amateurs by comparison. It wasn't the only reason he wasn't spending much time with Kyra. There was another part that felt he might lose her again. He wasn't sure if he could get closer to her again and then she was taken from him in this war by an enemy again. She'd died to save him and he knew given the choice she probably would do it again. And so would Tao and Arina.

"How did we get involved in such a mess?" asked Dar, thinking out loud.

He sighed heading out onto the back porch. He was shirtless wearing only a pair of blue shorts, and black boxers. He sat down on the porch staring up at the sunset and getting lost in his thoughts.

Kyra walked behind Dar carefully as she watched him closely. She covered his eyes and sighed. "What are you think about?" Kyra asked as she moved her hands away and stood by him. She looked around and back at him as she waited for a reply. Kyra was truly concerned about him. She was also confused about why he avoided her as much as he did. Until that day at least, and that moment. Ever since she arrived. Kyra wondered if she had done something to hurt him or was it something else. She wondered if he would tell her or keep it hidden even from her. Kyra hoped that it didn't mean that it was over between them but she had no idea for sure and that worried her. It scared her in fact. Kyra had no idea what to think but hoped that  things between them weren't already over or she had no idea what would she do. If that was the case then as far as she was concerned she was already dead, and that wasn't an option not to her at least. "Dar, what's going on? Did I do something wrong or something? Or is that something else? You know you can tell me, right?" Kyra said as she watched him closely with a concerned look on her face.  She looked around and then back at him once more as she waited for a reply, as she wondered what  would it be.

"Dar? Talk to me, please. I need you to talk to me," Kyra said to him as she watched him closely. She looked down and back at him. "You want nothing to do with me, isn't it? What we had is no more, isn't it? Just tell me, and I will leave you if you want me to," Kyra said to him a few minutes later.  She looked at him sadly as she waited for a reply. Kyra feared the worst but definitely hoped for the best, no matter what. She had no idea what to expect but she hoped it wasn't something terrible so. "Dar, we went through too much. I would rather we won't be over, or that would be the worst of the worst! That way you will kill me," Kyra said to him a few minutes later. "But if it's over than it's over," she added.

Dar paused at her words.

"This war. I was granted these powers to protect animals and do good. And now I'm a slave in a villain army. And I dragged you, Tao and Arina into this." said DAr.

He paused at her words and he pulled her into a passionate kiss and a hug, before pulling back. He still held her in a hug.

"It was never about that. I love you Kyra, and I always will. If I could I'd send you, Tao and Arina back to our world or at least to Critic's side even if I remained stuck here. My concern is for your safety. Vyce isn't as bad as Zad but he can't be everywhere and neither can I. What if you, or Tao or Arina get hurt? Or worse? From the others here or in a battle. I lost you once Kyra. I don't know if I could handle losing you again." said Dar.

Kyra watched him and sighed, as she listened to him, after she herself spoke. She shook her head to his words. Kyra didn't think that nor believe it, either. He had nothing to do with any of it. It just happened. Or so she thought at least. Kyra couldn't believe that he actually blamed himself for that. For all of that. Especially since he had no part in it. Given that he was s good guy and didn't wish for any of it. Kyra wished that he had stopped apologizing and stopped blaming himself for things he had nothing to do with. It was whatever the bad guys did that brought them all there. Dragged them all there. Not him. Kyra knew it and hoped that he did too. She put her hands on his shoulders as she watched him closely.

"This war is annoying but I am not angry at you. I doubt any of us is angry with you!  Yes, you are right. You were! I am sure of it but if it helps, you are doing the best you can, even now. Look we are not where we belong but one day, we would be saved and either help the good guys will or head back home or something! Just don't lose hope, Dar. Please! And just so you know, something dragged us here. Someone else. Someone who isn't you! So don't blame yourself for that, alright?"


Kyra spoke again as she watched him and then let him do what he did, as she kissed him and hugged him back. She then just hugged him and looked at him. Kyra loved him more than anything in the world. Which she doubted would ever change. Kyra was sure that it won't ever change. At least for her it won't for her, anyway.

Kyra listened to what he said after that. As she was relieved that he still loved her and wanted her. That meant a lot to him. There was no doubt there. To Kyra at least. That was what she wanted, and hoped for. Kyra was glad that it was the case. More than anything in the world. That was a good thing. At least to her it was.


"That's good to know. I am glad to hear you say that, Dar! That what I hoped you would say. That makes me feel better! It really does. I love you too, Dar! I really do. As you are my everything! You really are. I will always love you too! And I know you would but it's not possible. Not yet but even then we aren't going anywhere! Without you we aren't going anywhere. Don't you know that by now? I know that. We all do but our concern is you! Always and forever. I know but as you said he is bad too And dangerous! And I know you can't but I am fine. Somehow, for some reason they still leave me alone! So yesy. All of us so I guess that I'd something! What if what if. Everything is possible, both here and back home but we can't always fear! You know? And listen, we will be alright. I assure you! Give us some credit, alright? And when my soul was taken and such it hurt a lot but he was just making a point. He didn't do nothing else, so that is something, isn't it?"

Dar looked at him confused. He didn't think any of them were angry at him, but if she needed to vent he 'd let her.

"I've already lost hope, Kyra. I lost it as soon as I got here. I'm just only grateful Vyce has spared you, and Tao. Arina and I are warriors. We have some worth to him. He could have killed you and Tao. Any of them could have. We are at their mercy and they know it." said Dar.

Dar looked at her with sadness. He had been distant because of his own fears. And he'd somehow made her doubt his love and commitment to her.

"I am sorry I made you doubt me for a second. I just had a lot to deal with and I have less free time than before." said Dar.

He sighed.

"I just hope Ruh, Kodo, Poto, and Sharak are doing alright without me. I've had them around for so long that it feels weird to not have them around. And with Curupira imprisoned I fear Yara won't watch out for them." said Dar.

He nodded as she said they weren't going anywhere.

"You wouldn't want to but if meant saving you I'd do it. You were imprisoned by Zad for a year. I didn't want to you to be saved from one prison to end up in another. But the three of you would probably come back and save me anyway." said Dar.

Kyra watched him and sighed, as she spoke. She felt like she needed to say all of that or she would definitely blow up, so that was exactly what she did. Kyra was glad that he didn't hate her and such. If anything she hated the war for everything that happened and was happening than him. There was no doubt there. Kyra didn't wish to die but she wished that they were in the same world where they didn't have to go through what they went through recently. She listened to him and sighed to that.

"What? You can't. You can't ever lose hope, Dar! Our people, your animals and Tao taught us that. Plus you yourself did! Giving up hope means dying and we aren't dead and I refused to accept that we are about to. So don't do that! You have me and the others there for you. Arina seems tough and she too agrees with that! So listen to us and just don't. No, you didn't! I am sorry but I refuse to believe that or accept it. As that's not you and never will be! We will be rescued. He spared us for you! But what he doesn't get is that we are not going to give up. Do you even know how I survived bring captive of Zad? You saved me even without me. You inspired me! You gave me hope. The thought of you! Being with you. Making love to you! Being in your arms and being kissed by you. That gave me strength! You can't lose hope now, you just can't. It isn't you to just give up. You fight, so fight!Yeah, you both are! I noticed when I met her that she was a warrior. If you both are warriors which I know you are then don't give up. Warriors never give up, until they are completely sure there is no hope and there still is hope, so stop saying that there isn't! They fear losing you and your loyalty that way. Don't you get it? That's your weapon right there. Use it, Dar! Use it for you. Use it for me! Use it for all of us. Dar, it's more than that and we know it! You know it. It has to do with you, your love and your devotion, among other things! That makes that your weapon. So use it,"

She watched him as she said all of that. Kyra hoped that he would listen to her and follow what she told him. She loved him too much to give up and she refused to let him give up either. Giving up meant death and she wasn't willing to die. Kyra almost died. Hell she would have died if she didn't end up here but she did and that meant something. To Kyra at least it did.

She watched him and sighed. Kyra wanted him to be careful but she also wanted him to keep fighting and to never give up, no matter what. He was a warrior and she wanted him to act like one, as he did before that and before that. Kyra began to doubt his love and commitment to her because of him avoiding her and because he didn't fight for them as he did before. She wanted him to be the way he was and the way he would always be. Kyra listened to him speak again and sighed.

"I forgive you but please don't do it again. Please show the you I know still lives in you! Can you do it? Would you do it? I understand but there is always a way for us to be together. Don't you see? We are strong and we can't let it slip from us! Our love is strong and it helps us not to lose hope. They don't have it, do they? But we do. Dar, you are an amazing guy! You are my life and I am yours. What we have, no one can take away from us! Whether we are captured or not, that is not going to change anything. We can endure anything and fight anything, to be together! To help save others. Just help! We can do all of that because we don't give up. Because we fight even when we don't think we can win! Fighting isn't just about using a weapon or fists or feet or anything like that. Yes, it is one way but it's not the only way! Surving to fight again. Surving and planning in secret! Surving and believing. All of that is fighting too! Dar, we can't be defeated as long as we still have that and we definitely do. We made it through before and we can now too! Even if it's harder,"

Kyra watched him as she said that and sighed to that. She looked around and back at him. Kyra hoped that he listened to her and used what she said to him to keep fighting and to not lose hope. She wanted him to know that she believed in him as she hoped that he knew that, even if she believed that he did.

Kyra listened to him as he spoke again and sighed to that. She looked around and back at him. Kyra was worried too but tried to hide that as she refused to worry or it won't help them. They couldn't show fear she knew and believed that, more than anything in the world. This moment wasn't any different. Not as far as Kyra was concerned at least.

"They probably are but it's not the same for them without you. It never would be! I am sure Curupira helps but it's different without you. They no doubt all hope that we are fine and come back to them! So let's make it so. Shall we? And I know what you mean. Same here! After I was reunited with you twice it felt netural having them around even if I have only met them and it is hard without them but we can do it. You can do it! Don't you see? They aren't the reason you are strong and tough, a fighter, a warrior. You aren't good at what you do because of them but because of you! That strength and that hero you are, it's inside of you. Always was and always will be! Don't ever lose that part of you. That what makes you who you are! And wait, what? I am sure someone would release Curupira and protect the animals in our absence. In your absence! We have to believe that. Besides they can handle it with or without you, alone because they are smart, we have to believe that,"

She watched him closely as she said this and sighed. Kyra hoped that he listened and believed her. She truly believed that it was true. It had to be or everything would be lost and that wasn't an option. Not to Kyra or any of them. That was for sure. Kyra was sure of that. She knew that they needed to be United and fight with everything they got and they couldn't do it when they were worried. That was for sure. Kyra knew that rather well.

She listened as he spoke again and sighed to that as well, lost in thoughts. Kyra wondered how to help him get hope and faith back. She listened to him after she spoke again. Kyra wasn't surprised that he agreed. But she meant it in more ways than one. Which Kyra hoped that he understood that, even if she wasn't completely sure about that.

"No, I wouldn't. None of us would! Don't you get it? We are together to the end. No matter what! That is how it works. Survining means nothing without you! Didn't you get that by now? You are one of us and we are one of you. Always and forever! End of story. We won't let you! And yes I was but I did escape on my own. I was a prisoner since we were younger than now but I was but I always tried to find ways to escape! I didn't give up and I made it. Remember? I am not weak and I never will be. I know, Dar and neither did I but that is what we got but we dealt with it before and we will now! No matter what. It's just an obstacle, one we can cross. Together! Shall we? And we will if we left but we aren't leaving. Well not without you but we are leaving! Together. With you, and not without you and nothing you say or do will ever change that,"
