(OCC: January 4th. Morning. A day after "Something there that wasn't there before" obviously. Olina/Shirley thread. I apoligize. I just wanted these two to be together so badly)
Do not say a word. Do not. You will ruin everything. You always ruin everything with your stupid deductions. Look what happened to you with Maggie. She despises you now
Shirley was thinking of what to say to Olina. The two were close friends. It was obvious as time went on for her was that Shirley was in love with Olina, yet the last time she fell in love with a girl her heart got broken to pieces. She didn't want to ruin her friendship with Olina, let alone once again have her heart be rejected. She didn't care if Olina didn't know, she'd rather suffer than let Olina be out of her life. She was fine as friends. She was fine with the secret. She was fine... Or was she? She told her parents about it and they encouraged her to try but after the whole maggie debacle, shirley was much more insecure. One wrong word and the building of trust could crumble flat. As shirley drank her coffee, tears streamed. She was scared. Terrified. Her heart once again was fighting with her head. She didn't know what to do. What to say. How to say it. She then heard footsteps and she wiped her tears away, not wanting ANYONE to see the leader of the team be weak. She got rid of her coffee, washing the sink with speed, and pretended to be just getting a cup. She turned and paused, observing the other and responded "Hello darling. I just was getting myself a cup. Would you like one?"

Olina paused looking up at her. She raised an eyebrow at the word darling.
"Darling? Oh great. I knew we shouldn't have watched 101 Dalmatians. Now everyone's going to be quoting that movie for days." said Olina.
She was still oblivious to Shirley's feelings for her. Shirley was just her best friend after all. And Olina was ignoring her own feelings for the girl. To her they didn't exist. Because she thought Shirley didn't feel the same so she was ignoring them entirely. Sure it may not be healthy but at least she wouldn't wreck a friendship. it didn't help her sister Elisa kept pestering her even though she kept denying it. She didn't want her heart broken. Besides surely she'd get over these feelings and she could fall in love with someone else. Surely Shirley would find a boyfriend soon anyway so she needed to move on from these feelings. She focused back Shirley and grinned.

Olina was unaware of anything. Good. That would make this more easy to allow her feelings to be forgotten. Right? At Olina's reaction to how she was called darling though, Shirley blushed like a beet and nervously responded "Ah yes of course! Such a stupid thing to say! I'm sorry. I guess I just enjoyed the movie!" In reality though, she liked calling her friend that name. Olina was a darling. To her at least. But her feelings were pushing out before shirley could stop it. Hopefully olina would be oblivious.
"I don't know, what do you want to do? I'm willing to do anything you want" Shirley said before she could stop herself. She was getting more nervous. This wasn't good. She had to do something. She had to calm down. This is how it went with Maggie. You need to stop you fool Shirley thought as she watched Olina walk over and grinning at her. Shirley blushed again. She turned away and put the cup away in the sink to be cleaned off later. "I.. Um. I suppose maybe we can simply talk. It's fun to talk" Wait what?! NO! That would get her attention all the faster. Shirley knew this. Once she started blabbering, it would lead to something. Yet, for some reason, shirley had nothing else to say. She just allowed Olina the option to do something different. Hopefully she would.

Olina saw Shirley blush and found it cute before blushing at the thought.
"Keep it together girl." thought Olina.
Olina chuckled at her words though.
"It's ok. I still like the live action better though. Glen Close is just so fun as Cruella." said Olina.
Olina paused as she asked the question back at her and she chuckled.
"That's not fair. I asked what you want to do and you ask back. We're not going to repeat ourselves like the vultures from jungle book are we?" teased Olina.
She paused as Shirley blushed again and Olina smiled. Everything about Shirley made her smile especially when she blushed. She paused as Shirley said they could talk and Olina wasn't sure if she wanted to do that. What if talking led to feelings being blurted out? She didn't want to lose her best friend
"Why don't we go play frisbee or catch outside? Or maybe go for a swim at the beach? It's a great day outside. We shouldn't be stuck in here." said Olina.
She paused regretting the suggestion to go to the beach. She didn't want to see Shirley in a swimsuit. Well she did but that would be bad as she might end up saying something she couldn't take back.
"Yeah. How about frisbee or catch? Or we could go bike riding in the woods. I just feel like doing something outside today." said Olina.

"She is indeed. Then again Glen Close is a good actress" Shirley replied, trying not to blow her cover by saying anything suspicious. She then got a bit nervous as Olina started to tease her about her response, but she laughed aware that olina was just being funny "You are right. How foolish of me. My apologies, I just don't have much in mind"
She began to worry that her choice to talk was going to happen, but thankfully it didn't. She then bit her lip nervously as she suggested the beach "Oh no. It will take such a long time to get ready and I think it might be too hot and we'd need sunscreen. Perhaps something a bit easier" Well that was a complete lie. She only didn't want to go because she'd see Olina in a bathing suit. That would be responded with staring and a possible confrontation about that.
"Yes! Bike riding! Excellent idea! You always come up with such good ideas!" Shirley said, her tone quick and fast, unfortunately giving something away. She shook her head and responded "A bit too excited by the idea, Olina. Let me get my helmet and we'll get going! Wait, let's get some walkie talkies too, should someone from the enemy spot harm us and we need help. And let's not go too far away from the house" She then looked down a drawer and got some walkie talkies for them to use. She then turned to olina's eyes and couldn't help but stare into them. They were just the perfect color. Don't. Don't. Say nothing She thought to herself, and quickly went to the garage to get her helmet

Olina nodded.
"She certainly is." said Olina.
Olina grinned.
"Really? I doubt that very much. You always have great ideas." said Olina.
She grinned as Olina agreed swimming wasn't a good idea. They could go bike riding.
"Bike riding it is. But I'm not the one who comes up with good ideas. That's your department." said Olina.
She chuckled at her words.
"I'll go get my bike helmet too." said Olina.
She ran off to get her bike helmet and then returned to the kitchen. She gathered some water bottles and called out to Shirley.
"Hey Shirley you want to grab some sandwiches or trail mix or something? We' could get hungry out there and I don't know how to teleport the bikes back. And I'd rather not risk mine getting stolen while we came back here for something." said Olina.

Shirley allowed Olina to talk for her in terms of Glenn Close and blushed when Olina said that she always had great ideas. The other didn't really believe it but it was nice to see her best friend genuinely believe so. She then nodded as Olina got her bike helmet and was quick to grab hers also. Putting the bike helmet on, Shirley turned at Olina's question. "Why not? We might as well" She went into the refrigerator and quickly grabbed some sandwhiches, put them in a small container and was quick to the garage where the bikes would be.
Taking the walkie-talkie, she handed Olina the other and got on her own bike. "Hopefully something interesting is at the woods today. Who knows? Last one there is a rotten egg" She then began pedaling.

Olina grinned as they talked. She found it cute as Shirley blushed at the praise. She grinned as they had their bikes and gear ready as well as meals. She grinned as Shirley joined her as they started biking away from the house.
"With enough "interesting" things happening here lately I'd kinda be happy if we just saw some animals. Even if we saw nothing it'd be nice. Boring is normal and I don't think I want another fight or more craziness right now." said Olina.
She grinned as she kept biking as soon they had reached the trails in the forest.
"Hmm. Maybe we should take a break like every 30 minutes or so. Even if it's just a couple minutes. We wouldn't want to overdo it as we still have to bike back home after all." said Olina.

"Yeah me neither. Nothing crazy for now. Boring means nothing serious is going on" Shirley agreed. She smiled at Olina, glad she was on the same page she felt herself in. Shirley as they biked eventually stopped at the forest and nodded when olina suggested a break. "Yes. I agree. We should definitely take breaks. We don't want to get tired by the time home"
She let her bike rest at a tree and responded, unsure how to continue talking "Ah. It's nice. Us together by ourselves" Shirley didn't really realize what she meant was somewhat confusing.

Olina nodded.
"Yeah. I'll take boring any day. I don't think I'll ever complain about being bored again after finding out about this war." said Olina.
Olina grinned as Shirley agreed with her.
"Cool. Well I think we got some trail mix in here. You want some? We could wait for lunch later." said Olina.
She pulled out a couple bags of trail mix handing it to Shirley but as their hands touched she blushed trying not to be to noticeable. Maybe hanging out in the woods with her crush wasn't the best idea but too late to do anything about it now.
"Yes it is nice. I'm glad to be out here with you." said Olina, munching on her own bag of trailmix.

"I am glad I know of this war. It is good that I do. So I know that my family needs me. But yes, once this is over, I'm never complaining of boredom ever again" Shirley agreed. She couldn't help but sigh, the thought of her family in danger kind of made her sad. She didn't know how to be that much of a fighter. She was never violent growing up.
"I would love some. Lunch is later anyway" Shirley then touched hands with Olina. Shocked, she immediately snatched trail mix and ate. Embarrassed with herself with what she did. But then she turned to see Olina blush slightly. Then say it was just nice being with her. Shirley was beginning to feel something.
She struggled to keep it down. Yet the need to talk forced her to continue. She remembered Maggie but she couldn't take it anymore. "Olina. Um, I have something honest to tell you. Please don't get mad"
Post by Olina Pelekai on Sept 3, 2015 15:11:55 GMT -5
Olina nodded.
"Knowing about it does keep us safer. They could try to kidnap us to force our parents to surrender after all. I'm surprised they were able to keep it hidden from us as long as they have." said Olina.
Olina grinned as Shirley took some and their hands touched. She tried to fight back a blush. She then look at Shirley curious as she spoke.
"Something to tell me? Why would I get mad?" asked Olina.

"It begs the question of why they hid it in the first place. My mother would always speak highly about honesty" Shirley sighed, rubbing her head. Her parents sometimes confused her. Her mother especially. Mike spoke highly about virtue and doing the right thing yet he kept this huge secret from her for the longest time. She loved her parents but they tended to rub her off.
"B-because you might not feel the same way" Shirley then blushed madly. She covered her face "Olina, you are one of my best friends. It's hard for me to admit the way I feel sometimes" She didn't look at Olina, ashamed of herself. She rubbed her eyes "I like you. Like truly like you. More than a friend. And that's the problem. I'm afraid I will hurt what we have" She began sniffing, tears beginning to stream.

Olina shrugged.
"They probably hoped they could finish it before we were born and when that failed they just wanted to keep us safe. I understand their reasons but I'm glad we know now." said Olina.
She paused as Shirley said she may not feel the same way.
"The same way about what?" asked Olina confused.
She nodded.
"And you're one of my best friends too Shirley." said Olina.
She watched Shirley rub her eyes before speaking again. She was then speechless as Shirley spoke.
"Like me more than a friend?" asked Olina.
She was shocked at the confession.
"You mean you have feelings for me? I thought I was the only one." said Olina.
She realized what she just said and blushed.
"I've had feelings for you for awhile now but I've been denying them even to myself. Because I didn't think you'd want me." said Olina.

Shirley looked down as Olina was understandably confused. She nodded, ashamedly, as Olina got the idea correctly that Shirley liked her more than just a friend. Her heart raced and she anticipated the supposed reaction. She then looked right up as Olina quickly confessed that she felt similar but was worried about Shirley's own reaction.
"Not want you?" Shirley's eyes were wide and she immediately held a hand of Olina's "How could anyone not want you? You're so kind and beautiful" She smiled softly, tears streaming "I was so afraid to tell you but... I really care about you Olina. More than anyone else"
