The Captain And The Duke (Pete)

"Yeah. Let's just have fun" Pete agreed with Nukem. He couldn't help but smirk in amusement though as Nukem mentioned a burning circus. He then listened to more of Nukem's comments, especially the ones relating to parenting. Pete smirked but then responded calmly "Yeah it IS nice to have kids but it takes a lot of work to raise one. Heck, one kid is hard, I can't imagine how Dark Nella and our boss handles like tons of them. I can't even handle my son" He chuckled amusedly "Just kidding, I can but it ain't easy. Not in the slightest"

"Goofy, my neighbor, is a dog person and he's not a bad guy either. Yeah I'm not a dog person myself but even I know that courage dog's a good one. He sure as hell ain't stupid" Pete replied as the cartoon episode continued on and on. He then smirked again as Nukem agreed not to mess with curses. Then he shrugged about Nukem's comment about showing how Eustace was just greedy "Yeah, my world has plenty of greedy people but even they wouldn't think of high-class heists like this"

"It's the middle of no-where, maybe the cops just don't know where they are or they're taking a heck of a long time to get there?" Pete questioned, shrugging. He honestly wasn't sure how that dumb farmer got away with half of the stuff he pulled. Including animal abuse and possible domestic abuse.

"Ugh, that's one ugly ghost. Yep. This kid's show actually has guts and doesn't treat kids like idiots at least" Pete shrugged "That's the major reason I didn't stop P.J from watching it. It was a cartoon that actually didn't rot his brain"

"OK yeah, I can't defend that. Look I like the lady but she's supposed to be smarter than this. Eustace I could care less about though. Let the dumbass animal abusing jerk drown" Pete commented. He may have not watched the show completely but when he did, he always couldn't stand Eustace, only liking courage and Muriel.

"I honestly have no clue. Maybe she feels sorry for him? Maybe she's too old to dump his sorry, greedy ass" Pete commented. He only facepalmed as he saw the glog and groaned. He then saw Rameses threaten them a second time and instead curse them with bad music.

As the bad music played, Eustace was seen putting on ear plugs "Dude! What the hell! Don't you have some for your wife?! Come on dude. Is money really that important to you?" He heard Muriel cry and beg for the music to stop and Courage, while covering his ears, search for the source of the music. "I heard that dogs have better or higher levels of hearing than humans do. Meaning that poor dog's ears might be bleeding or he could go deaf if he doesn't find that music. And Eustace can't help WHY?"

[Duke Nukem/Drake Miller]

Duke nodded.

"Hmm perhaps I could always adopt I suppose. But then again with all the radiation I need to keep myself alive it might kill the kid. Or turn them into me. Still would be nice to have a kid of my own." said Duke Nukem.

He'd never really thought of it before. But seeing so many kids here had changed his mind about that. They weren't as bad as the planet pests he constantly fought with. Mano was a lot better than Ma-Ti. he liked the kid and was glad he was being treated better lately.

"Well if it was easy more people would be parents. Besides nothing easy is worth fighting for." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem listened intrigued as he talked about his old neighbor Goofy and compared them both to Courage.

"It's really a shame Muriel doesn't take Courage and go. They're in the middle of nowhere with her husband who yells at or scares her dog constantly. He doesn't even seem to love her at least not enough to try to save her life." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem kept watching and nodded to Pete.

"I suppose you're right. Still you'd think the archeologist would have told someone by now if they wanted the slab back. Or why he didn't come with the police in the first place. Why would you need to make deals about a stolen object?" said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem chuckled.

"Yeah. It's a great show. It is a shame we can't send these type of disasters onto the other armies. That'd be fun to watch." said Duke Nukem

Duke Nukem shrugged.

"It is a curse so maybe the door wouldn't open. But you think they'd at least try to go out the front door first." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem shrugged.

"Or perhaps he was nicer once and got meaner in his old age? I mean she may have just gotten used to how badly he treats her and Cuorage. She's acts too much like Cinderella. An abusive family yet she acts so nice. It's so bizarre." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem shook his head seeing Eustace plug his ears up.

"Wow. That definitely is selfish." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem paused seeing Courage finally find a record player and smash it as Duke facepalmed.

"Seriously? That's all it took. These curses are so easy to beat. Wait. Let me guess. There's another curse." said Duke Nukem.

He watched as Eustace refused to give it again as the locust symbol vanished from the plague and locusts flew out of nowhere towards the house. Destroying the water bump, the car, and heading towards the house.

"Now his greed's going to get them all killed. Not sure how you stop an army of locusts." said Duke Nukem.

"Hey whatever floats your boat, man. Radiation could be dangerous but maybe some of our bosses could help ya out" Pete suggested. He honestly wasn't too good on advice. Especially for mutants. He technically was considered non-human but not mutant so he didn't really exactly know how to help. But talking seemed to help Nukem slightly

"You got a point there. More people like the easy route" Pete as he said that kind of cringed. He did take easy way outs before in the past. Now that he had stuff to fight for, something told him taking easy ways out wouldn't be a good idea.

"It just really bothers me anyway. Nice before or not, Eustace seriously has some anger issues. What is it with his hatred of that poor dog? Is he jealous? Is he just too concerned about his own little world? Muriel can handle the dog fine but he can't. I feel real sorry for that lady" Pete said as the two continued to talk about the show.

The show progressed and he then listened to nukem's points "Actually yeah! Why doesn't that guy go with the police for his thing back? Does he really not know where it is? Or is he just so far away by this point?!" He shrugged annoyed with the slab curses

"That water one would be especially cool. Drowning or at least scaring them with that flood would rule" Pete chuckled, amused with himself. He felt like making his enemies suffer. And what was weird was it was because he was loyal to this team.

"That's what I'm saying. I mean even I would go find a exit before anything. Exits should be a priority. Courage, despite himself, is the smartest out of the three" Pete facepalmed as he said that. Dogs smarter than human beings? That was just sad.

"Maybe but it doesn't matter what the reasoning is. She should dump him or leave with the dog. She clearly loves that dog and that dog clearly loves her" Pete replied. He then snorted as he thought of what Nukem said of Muriel being similar to Cinderella "Hey. Maybe we can call it Cinderella-disorder. Where a abuse victim is all nice and sunshiney even though they really shouldn't be"

"I mean even I'm not this selfish. I can admit I'm greedy but I would make my son or anyone else go deaf over something like that!" Pete replied, annoyed with this character more and more. He then snorted as Nukem wisely pointed out that the curses were so far easy. He nodded as there was a third curse and when Nukem asked how were they gonna destroy locusts and he laughed, replying "With a BIG can of bug spray maybe"

Duke Nukem nodded.

"Maybe it'd be better to adopt. I don't know if I can even have kids anymore with all the radiation. I mean when you think about it's a miracle I'm still alive." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem frowned as Pete agreed with him but then cringed about the easy route.

"Speaking from experience?" asked Duke Nukem, curious.

He nodded.

"He just doesn't really deserve her. I mean I'm a villain and even I wouldn't treat a woman I loved like that. He takes her for granted, while verbally and physically abusing Courage. Courage is just a dog and Muriel is a kind woman. And they're living in the middle of the desert or something. They should at least be living in the country. Build a garden or something. I suppose it's good they never had kids. It kind of makes you wonder what she sees in him and how they got married in the first place. I do think he must have been nicer once. Maybe in his old age he just got meaner." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem paused with a frown.

"It's weird. I mean police were following the thieves so they hid it. So there are police around. But the archeologist doesn't call the police either. I mean they could get arrested for the theft or accused of being accomplices. But maybe I'm just overthinking it. It is a kid's show. After all." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem chuckled.

"It certainly would. Maybe we can use one of our sorcerers to curse them like that. That'd be pretty funny." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem nodded.

"I guess they panicked and were trying to get to higher ground. Still was stupid to at least not try to open a door or a window." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem nodded again.

"Definitely. But she seems to like him for some reason." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem chuckled as Pete mentioned calling it a Cinderella disorder.

"She definitely has it." said Duke Nukem.

He frowned and nodded.

"He nearly lets her drown, and nearly lets her go deaf. Not to mention the poor dog. Where sound is amplified so it's got to be torture for him." said Duke Nukem.

Duke Nukem chuckled.

"Perhaps." said Duke Nukem.

He then was shocked as the locusts ate most of the house. Muriel started baking as Duke Nukem stared in belief.

"What is she doing? Does she think cookies or a cake will make him stop? Getting rich isn't worth your lives and baking are not going to solve anything!" said Duke Nukem.

He sighed in relief as Eustace agreed to let it go. Courage threw out the tablet sparing their lives.

"Finally. Some sense." said Duke Nukem.

He then was shocked as Eustace ran out grabbing the slab and mocked him saying he ran out of plagues. The monster responded by attacking him again with locusts. He sees Muriel and Courage watching tv in their ruined home which says the slab has been returned. Muriel wonders where Eustace is and then they see Eustace wrapped up like a mummy in the crypt while he shouts what's your offer?

"Well, his greed did him in. At least Muriel and Courage didn't suffer too. I say that's a happy ending." said Duke, laughing.
