Ohana (Nani)

[Lilo]

(OCC: March 2nd. Morning. Lilo and Nani thread)

Lilo was in the living room thinking to herself and trying to forget her situation by reading. She was supposed to be with her sister in their room but she felt like she needed to just think about herself and what happened recently. Her sister was back and Lilo was far more than happy with that but the young girl was having a serious toll on the war. It was affecting her emotionally, physically and some argued that mentally it was affecting her. She had trouble sleeping and was constantly nervous around certain people, except Morpheus, the children(particularly Edith, Littlefoot, the dalmatian puppies and bambi), Mrs. Potts, Kim and her sister. She sighed putting the book down, seeing it wasn't helping her feel better and just looked outside, it was nice out but Lilo didn't feel like going out.

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani sighed as she got up to stretch. She had waited for Lilo to come back and then when she realized she wasn't coming. She'd picked up a book and started reading. But now she was worried about her little sister. She would just go and check on her. If Lilo wanted to be left alone after that she'd let her. She walked out to the living room seeing Lilo. She smiled giving her a hug.

"Hello Lilo. Are you alright?" asked Nani.

[Lilo]

Lilo hoped that her sister wouldn't notice and sleep it off but it seemed to be too much asking. Lilo hugged back and tried not to cry then, she still didn't feel Nani was there. That said, Lilo knew that Nani didn't want to be lied to so saying she was fine wouldn't fly at all. The girl looked down at the bottom of her dress and smiled softly, trying to be cheerful "Hi nani. I'm glad you're awake. I didn't want to bother you but still" She sighed, seeing that comment didn't answer her sister's question. She wanted to make things right with her older sister, starting now "Not... Not really. I guess I didn't have a good sleep last night" She admitted "I just had a bad dream but nothing too serious" She hoped that would be it but it seemed through Lilo's face that the dream really DID affect her seriously.

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani smiled at her as she spoke.

"It's alright. You just wanted some time to yourself." said Nani.

She felt bad. She'd probably been smothering her with her trying to spend so much time with her. Trying to make up for the time she was gone.

"I'm sorry. I'm not smothering you am I? I just missed you so much. But you'd tell me if I was bothering you or if you wanted your space right?" said Nani.

She was still trying to adjust to this war. She tried to be the good big sister but like all sisters, she and Lilo had their share of problems and fights. But she wanted Lilo to tell her how she felt at any time.

She paused as Lilo said she didn't sleep last night. That she had a bad dream. She said it wasn't serious but her face said differently. She wrapped Lilo into another hug.

"I know that dream bothered you. Do you want to talk about it? I want to help you if I can." said Nani.

[Lilo]

Lilo was glad Nani wasn't offended but then felt slightly bad when Nani assumed it as her being smothering around with her. Lilo was sincere and quick to respond "Not at all Nani! I'm totally fine with it! I haven't seen you in a while! I would tell you if I wanted to just chill by myself but I'm seriously glad you and I get to spend more time together! Really!" She hugged her sister in assurance, she didn't want her older sister to worry so much about her. Lilo then hugged again when Nani wrapped her around when Lilo confessed her nightmare. At Nani's request to talk about it, Lilo nodded and shrugged, as if to respond that she didn't mind talking about it but wasn't entirely sure how to say it.

"Well I kinda do. Since it involved me and you" Lilo said sadly before breathing "It was you and me just hanging out then all of a sudden a big shadow that looked like Dr. Facilier's came and grabbed you and pulled you away. Then he came for me... Then many heroes from Critic's army came like Critic himself but they all got pulled away too. Then.." She gulped, wiping the tears that began to form "Nothing. It was so black. I woke up and it was early in the morning but I left the bed because I didn't want to go to sleep anymore" She wiped more tears, Lilo didn't want to cry but it seemed like her body was going to do it for her.

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani grinned as Lilo hugged her back and told her she was glad they could hang out more.

"I'm glad. I know I can be a pain sometimes but I everything I do is to keep you safe. Even when you don't like it." said Nani.

She chuckled at that and then stopped as she listened to Lilo talk about her nightmare.

"I know it's hard Lilo. We're in a war. A war is no place for children. You won't lost me. Not if I can help it. I won't make promises because there's no guarantees in this war. That poor boy Ma-Ti is gone. And Holli one of the villains was killed before him. I promise you one thing. I'll find a way to keep you safe even if it means sending you back home." said Nani.

She hugged Lilo tightly. She wished she could say or do something to make them both feel better. She was grateful they'd made this safe house to keep the children safe. However if Critic's group fell at his house it was only a matter of time they found them here. She was hopeful but not naive. She hoped they find a way to send them all back and end this war but so far no one had any luck in that department.

[Lilo]

Lilo nodded as Nani assured her that even though she was a pain, she was there to keep her safe. Lilo nodded sadly "I know. You're right. You're the only one who's been there for me when nobody else was" Lilo then listened to Nani assure her that even though they were in a war, Nani would do anything in her power to protect her or take her back home. Lilo nodded, aware of the risks here and that this place wasn't for her but she was still afraid for herself and her sister. She started crying about it, hugging her sister and putting her face in her older sister's shirt. She was heartbroken. She tried to stop and the assurances of her sister caused her to calm down. She eventually let go of Nani and wiped her tears.

She responded quickly "I'm sorry. I just missed you. I know you handled a lot back at the villains prison so I really shouldn't act this way. Can we spend the rest of the day together or something? Unless, you're busy or something"

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani smiled at her.

"I know it's been hard after we lost Mom and Dad. And the only friends you had were Stitch, Victoria, Jumba, Pleakley, and the experiments. I wasn't always there for you before because I kept trying to get jobs. I never seemed to keep one for long even before Stitch and the others showed up. Or I was hanging out with David. But now that we're stuck here I've had more time for you. Which made me rethink things. When we do find a way back home I'm going to find a steady job so I can spend more time with you." said Nani.

She paused as Lilo hugged her back and was crying. Nani hugged her as she let her cry.

"It's ok. I missed you too. You're not the only one who has nightmares. I still dream being trapped in the cell of them hurting the others. Of something happening to you or Morpheus. But I know the bad dreams will go away but I'll never stop worrying or caring about you. You're my Ohana. My family. And I won't let anything or anyone separate us again." Said Nani.

She smiled as she asked if they could spend the rest of the day together.

"Of course. I'd love to spend the day with you. You want to maybe go to a beach? We could go swimming or surfing. And perhaps we could go visit this world's Hawaii sometime. It won't be the same as our home but it should help us feel less homesick." said Nani.

[Lilo]

Lilo was glad that Nani promised to now keep a consistant job so the both of them could get closer and stay together. It really changed since their mother and father were killed. Lilo continued crying but heard that promise, and felt better about it. "Really? That'd be nice. I mean stitch and everybody kept me company but it's weird seeing you move place to place. Especially since the other girls make fun of me for about everything me and my family does" She didn't say this bitterly but she confessed it in some way due to trusting nani enough to finally confess of certain situations.

Lilo calmed down and responded to nani's other comments "Yeah. We'll get through this. Like we've gotten through a lot of things. You're right nani. We're ohana. Nobody gets left behind or forgotten" She hugged her sister tightly also as she said this.

She then instantly smiled at the idea of going to hawaii and surfing. That sounded like a great idea! She nodded "Yeah! We should do that! We can check out hawaii!" She then frowned curiously "But how? How can we do that? We don't have that much money and planes take forever anyway"

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani smiled at her.

"I'm thinking about perhaps getting a job in town. I want to contribute something. And I think it'll help me too. I'm not even fighting in the war while I'm here. I'm just hiding. And I know they have limited funds and they still have to buy food and supplies for all of us. At least until we find a way back. This is a nice place but I miss our home. And Stitch, Jumba, and the others." said Nani.

She paused at Lilo and sighed.

"You know I don't know why you try to be nice to Myrtle and those other girls. They've treated you horribly even before Stitch and the others arrived. Stitch and Victoria are your true friends. Even others here have been better friends than those girls. You need to stop seeking their approval. I hate to see upset and those girls just love to pick on you. Especially Myrtle." said Nani.

She smiled at Lilo.

"Yes. We will. We're the Pelaki sisters. Like mom always used to say we can get through anything if we stick together." said Nani.

She paused wiping away tears that began to form as she thought of her parents. She hugged Lilo tightly.

"And I will make sure we are never separated again. As much as I wish you were back home where you're safe I'm glad you're here. Being stuck in that cell for so long I missed you and that was only a few weeks. To be separated you for all this time and possibly longer I don't think I could have handled that." said Nani.

Nani grinned glad Lilo liked the idea of going to Hawaii. She paused as Lilo asked how for them to get there.

"I think we could teleport there. They have a lot of technology here. It reminds me a lot of Jumba's inventions. These communicators we have teleport us from the battle to here. I think they could create something to get us to Hawaii for a few hours. I know we couldn't go all the time but it'd be fun to visit once and awhile." said Nani.

[Lilo]

"If you get a job it'd be helpful to us. I can't tell you anything but maybe roses will help you!" Lilo said cheerfully, liking how smart her sister can be. She always was so smart. That's why Lilo could depend on her. Hell, lilo could depend on nani alone on her concern. Lilo trusted her sister with anything. "Yeah me too. We'll go back someday. Just... not now. Hopefully stitch and the others stay though" She shrugged sadly

She shrugged sadly again when Nani commented that she didn't know why she was nice to myrtle when all she did was tease her and be rude. "I know I need to stop seeking their approval, but even when I try to leave them alone myrtle just pushes my buttons. Victoria, Stich and the others are my true friends but they just... keep bothering me. Bullying me. Telling me really nasty stuff" Like myrtle saying that she would never be as good as her mother at dancing or that all Lilo would be was a screw up.

She hugged tightly as Nani started getting upset and promising that they wouldn't be seperated. "I'm sorry I tried to get you the way I did. It just made thing worse" She sighed "I was desperate. Critic was taking so long. I was scared you were dead" She hugged tighter than that.

"Teleporting there sounds good!" Lilo said cheerfully after a while "All of what you said sounds like a good idea! Let's do it! Now! While we can!"

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani grinned.

"I'll try. But I might have to make a new identity. Nani Pelaki doesn't exist. I'm just a movie character here. I might have to change my name or something to get a job here." said Nani.

She nodded.

"I'm sure we'll go back someday. Although I wouldn't mind if Stitch showed up. I know you have friends here but I would feel better knowing Stitch was here. He kept you safe when I couldn't. And I've started to trust the others here more. I just miss our home and Stitch and the others. I just hope we can find a way back someday." said Nani.

She sighed.

"So don't let her. She just seems to enjoy hurting you so if you don't let it hurt then maybe she'll give up. It won't be fun anymore to her. Stick with your real friends." said Nani.

"I'm proud you went out on a mission like that. That was very brave. But you shouldn't have brought the kids. If they'd taken you like they had Jasmine. Or if they'd..."

She trailed off hugging Lilo tightly thinking about Ma-Ti. And how that could have been Lilo. She wiped tears away as she held her.

"I know. Just promise me you'll be more careful. I talked Morpheus into trying to help train you. I know how stubborn you can get. I can't keep you locked away forever. So if you insist on getting into trouble you're going to be trained." said Nani.

"Yes. I'd love to visit again. But we'd need to plan something like that. Like I said we don't exist here. I wouldn't want someone to recognize us or think we're lying when we introduce ourselves." said Nani.

[Lilo]

"You might. Maybe something simple like Mary Justin or something" Lilo suggested about Nani's possible change in identity. She had a point, nobody would believe her if they saw the movie lilo and stitch, it would be easy to notice her as a movie character or something down that line. It was best to keep that a secret too, mostly because of fear from other people or the war being found out.

"Stitch showing up would be really good. I miss him a lot. You're right, the others are good but stitch was there for me a lot. He did do a lot for me and beside me, I'd really be glad if he came" Lilo said with a missing tone of voice. Stitch was her best friend forever, so it was hard to make friends because she feared that she might accidently replace stitch when she promised she never would. Of course stitch would always be in her ohana and heart but the fear of replacement was in the back of her mind, so being friends with a lot of the hero children, while good, was a bit hard to be.

"OK. If she does bother me again if we go back home, I'll go with stitch and walk away. But what if she keeps persisting? Let you know?" Lilo asked. She seriously didn't know how to handle myrtle other than fight her or say nasty things back. It was hard for her to ignore the things the other girl said, mostly because myrtle had a very good way of getting under your skin.

She then hugged Nani tightly as she stated that she was proud that Lilo did a mission as big as a rescue, but that it was dangerous and that the children shouldn't of been brought to begin with. That they could've gotten captured or killed like Ma-Ti. Ma-Ti's death really affected her as well as a lot of people, not as much as IHeart or Critic mind you, but she and many others felt a lot more afraid for their lives because of it. So Nani's fear of lilo probably increased by this point, as did Lilo's fear for Nani. She then beamed brightly as Morpheus agreed with Nani to train her and while Nani couldn't keep her in forever she would rather have her trained then go out unprepared. "That's great! I'll be careful though don't worry, but being trained sounds great!" Then she remembered her promise with the other children to train also but she ignored that thinking she could do both the children group AND morpheus. That way she could get better.

"Oh. Right. We need to wait. Well, I guess we can talk to Roses about it since she's in charge here?" Lilo suggested as the trip to hawaii obviously would take a bit longer than lilo personally liked.

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani grinned at her suggestion. Justin was an odd choice but Mary could work.

"I like Mary. Good thinking Lilo." said Nani.

She smiled at Lilo.

"I remeber when you first found him back when we thought he was a dog. I thought he was just trouble and he brought Gantu, Jumba, and Plekaley into our lives. I almost lost you that day. But Stitch helped saved you. He became part of our family. And I miss him. And Jumba, and Pleakley and David and our home. But you'll always have me no matter what happens." said Nani.

Nani paused as she asked if she bothered her again to walk away.

"She knows it bothers you that's why she keeps teasing you like that. Just don't let her see you mad. Have fun with Stitch, and Victoria and your other friends. Once she sees she can't bother you she'll give up on it. Or hopefully won't do it as much." said Nani.

She wasn't sure if it was the best advice. Bullies rarely stopped but at least she was away from Myrtle for now. Hopefully she could find a more permanent solution later. Perhaps talk with Myrtle's mother and tell her how she'd been treating Lilo. Although that might to do more harm than good as well. Nani focused back on Lilo as they hugged. She knew Lilo understood the danger of that mission and wouldn't do anything like that again. She smiled as Lilo said she'd be careful and was glad to train with Morpheus.

"Your welcome Lilo. I wish I could lock you in your room until this is over but they've attacked our home several times. I want you safe. I'll try to take the others into training the other kids too. They need to at least know basic self defense. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you or the other kids." said Nani.

She paused as Lilo said they need to wait and Nani grinned.

"Why don't we make it a day trip? Invite the whole group. Since this group isn't going to be fighting in the war anytime soon we could all use a break. A trip to Hawaii could be fun. If anyone sees us we could just say we're staying at a hotel in California and are just spending the day in Hawaii. Of course we could only take the humans and maybe the dogs. The dogs would just have to promise not to talk while other people were around. We could take the other animals on trips to a rain forest or something later where they could have more fun and not be interrupted by people." said Nani.

[Lilo]

"Thanks!" Lilo said, truly touched her sister liked the way she thought things out. She then smiled at the past memories stitch had with the two of them "Yeah. He helped us with a lot of work. Stitch did save me. He did a lot for me. I really miss him and jumba and everybody. I just hope they're ok. I still have you, I know that" Lilo replied to the conversation related to stitch. She sighed in sadness thinking about her best buddy stitch.

"Ok. Sounds like a good plan. It could work. You never know. Stitch and victoria distract me easily enough though" Lilo said with a grin. Nani was right. If mytle saw that lilo wasn't upset, maybe she wouldn't bother. Teasing someone who didn't care about it was boring and uninteresting. The point of teasing was to make someone feel bad. If lilo didn't feel bad than what was the point?

"Yeah! We should totally do that!" Lilo said, cringing inwardly. The kids were three steps ahead of nani and if she knew, the situation could easily blow up. She had to be secretive for sure. "I'm fine with self-defense classes. They could be fun if we made them out to be!"

"All of that sounds great! We'll plan it out and invite everybody! We'll make it a great, big, fun day! We could use some fun times! We've been cooped up! We should do something like that soon!" Lilo said cheerfully. Suddenly her stomach growled and she covered it, giggling and blushing "Sorry. I guess I'm starting to get hungry"
