Brotherly Rivals (Thor)

[Thor]

Thor looked at Loki as he remained silent for awhile. When Loki eventually picked up the sword Thor resigned himself to his fate. But looked in surprise at Loki as he threw the sword away and backed away from him. He looked at him confused.

"Are you really sure Loki? You had the Destroyer kill me once before. Did you feel happy then at all? Or have I finally reached you? Do you finally know how much I love you my brother?" said Thor.

He paused as Loki dropped to his knees saying he couldn't do it. Thor rushed to him wrapping him into a hug.

"It's ok my brother. This doesn't have to end in one of our deaths. But I meant what I said. The two things I want most are your happiness and us being brothers again. I thought my death would bring you happiness but I guess I was wrong. What do you want from me brother? We can be the brothers we once were. But if the pain's too much. If you really hate me then I won't trouble you anymore. You'll never have to see me again if you don't want me to." said Thor.

He was essentially banishing himself from Loki's life if that was what he wanted. If Loki needed Thor to stay away he would. Even thought it broke his heart his brother was hurting and he knew he was partially the cause of it. Tears streaked down his face as he held Loki tight.

"I'm sorry Loki. For my part in this. I always viewed you as my brother from the first day I saw you. That hasn't changed. And that never will. A young girl named Lilo in Critic's army taught me a word. Ohana. It means family. And Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten. You're my family. But I meant what I said. If my death won't make me happy then what will?" asked Thor.

[Loki]

(OCC: Couple more posts then Loki escapes and whatnot. Feel free to beg him to stay)

"No! I was not happy to do what I did with the destroyer! It was because I was trying to do the right thing, damn it! I was trying to help the cause. I did what I must. I didn't want to but you and your group of friends forced me too! Yes, I get your intentions thor! I know what you wish to do now! I know that your death cannot bring me peace now and look at me!" Loki said, tears streaming down his face again, his mouth was now filled with froth and rageful slurring and cursing. He was just so upset and vunerable emotionally. If only he had time to himself... If only he just had some time to think! He had to escape somehow! He had to go. He had to think.

He sobbed and then felt the older god wrap his arms around him, and due to the stress, Loki just clutched tightly. Sobbing more, and just wishing to leave and yet not wanting to leave because some part of him enjoyed thor's company. Thor being gone was something of no interest to loki and it took him this fight to realize this. He held on and listened to thor. The god was right, it didn't have to end with bloodshed against the other or killing each other. They could still live together. There was the chance of redemption but Loki somehow wasn't ready for it. He was instantly being doubtful as Loki just held on and his face filled with confusion, regret and some sort of hurt.

You'll never have to see me again if you don't want to

"I don't know brother, I don't know what I want from you. I... I don't even know if I hate you or not. Yet, I know two things, thor. I do not want you to die and I do want to see you again. Gods, I need to think. Gods, I do not know anything. I hate this" Loki mumbled as he held onto his brother. He felt the thunder god weep and cry and it caused the two god-men to just continue holding each other. Loki, as much as he wanted so badly to deny it, could not stay away. He didn't know what to do. He loved thor and yet hated him at the same time. It was so conflicting.

Loki then looked to thor, giving him some one-on-one eye contact. He then was shocked to hear Thor learn things from a young child named Lilo that a word called Ohana meant family and that no-one was left behind or forgotten. Loki was a bit embarrassed to hear wisdom from a little girl on the opposite side but realized that somehow it made sense. He then learned that thor was serious about his feelings about loki, that they were brothers regardless of relation and that his opinion of him being the baby brother had not changed. Loki then listened to Thor's question that if his death wasn't to make Loki happy what would. "Brother. I have too many demands. I do not even know what they are myself" He eventually let go and got up, wiping his tears harshly, angry and embarrassed with his emotions being out of control like this. "Thor, I cannot tell you yet. I need to think" He turned as if going to leave.

[Thor]

]Thor shook his head.

"You weren't doing the right thing. You were misguided and eventually, you went a bit crazy. All that anger, resentment, and bitterness and you lashed out against me, our family, Laufey, The Avengers, and everyone else. You nearly wiped out the Frost Giants. You tried to enslave the humanity with help of the Chituari. You even brainwashed a couple of friends of mine Erik and Clint. You caused damaged to both worlds and hurt or killed so many. But I can't hate you. We've both wronged each other and I forgive you for what you've done to me and my friends. I wish for us to put our past where it belongs in the past and work on a future together. But I know this will take time." said Thor.

He held Loki tighter as they were now both crying. He had hope of his brother being back. He wished his parents were here to see this. Although he knew Loki hated Odin more than he hated him so perhaps it was good Odin wasn't here. He looked up at Loki as he said he didn't know what he wanted. He didn't even know if he really hated Thor anymore. But he didn't want him to die and he still wanted him to see again.

"Then you give me hope. Hope we can one day the two of us can be family again. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But someday." said Thor.

He listened to him as Loki said he still wasn't sure and he needed to think.

"Then I will give you that time. Just promise to be careful out there Loki. Facilier's army is powerful and my friends here including Jane, Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America will try to stop you. But I will promise you something in return. I will not let you die. Even if I have to fight all three armies to keep you safe. I will do it." said Thor.

And he meant it. He did not want to have to fight his friends in the Avengers again but he'd had to fight Tony and Steve once to get to Loki. He would fight them again to save Loki if he had to.

[Loki]

Loki's tears streamed more as his older brother pointed out the logic within his own reasoning for Loki's past crimes. That he was misguided and eventually went insane because of it, it hurt so much to hear his own brother go and say this to him because in a way it was true and Loki hated that fact. Especially since he became so hateful, resentful, angry and power-hungry. He was a shell of his former self in some regards. He DID harm many lives and attack many people including Thor and the avengers as well as successfully kill Laufey. He nearly destroyed a entire race for the sake of "protection" against a war that was made simply because of a arrogant attack. Yet despite that, Thor still cared about him and Loki couldn't dare think that the thunder god was this caring enough to still consider Loki as his brother. That he wished to let go of the past and be brothers again in the future. Loki said nothing and hugged thor out of his own lack of words. He didn't have much to say. He didn't know why but something with Thor's response caused him to stop defending himself, because thor wasn't here to criticize him it seemed, he was here to try to set a wrong that loki held against him, which was fighting back against his actions.

He eventually let go as Thor told him that he had hope for the both of them since Loki didn't want him dead nor never to see him again. Loki realized then and there that no matter what he did, Thor still cared for him and would support him. The thunder god really was serious about his brotherly love, because nobody could be this sincere and not mean it, not even Loki himself. "I cannot tell about the future Thor and neither can you. Only the present is what I see. We will see regardless of what happens" He said at last, voice a bit raspy because of his vunerability. He then saw that Thor not only allowed him time to think, but that he needed loki to promise to be safe. "I know of the mortal Facilier and your friends being against me. I know well enough to promise you that, that I will be careful" He then widened his eyes in shock as thor swore to fight to protect him if it was needed, that he would go against everyone if it meant Loki's safety. Thor never said anything this shocking since back around the bifrost when Thor told him a parallel of his own actions being insane compared to Thor's.

"Well I will take your word for it then" Loki said, some shock still evident in his voice. He then slowly backed away from thor before being set on walking away. However it caused him to walk away... Only for the god of mischief to do something he never thought he would do today or ever again. He ran right to Thor and hugged him tightly, it did last a while before he murmured to his brother "Farewell. Until we meet again" He was planning to transport away but he felt no strength to do it. So naturally he just ran without turning back, besides it left a mark for his thunder god brother to see him leave for daring to make loki realize he still cared. The god of mischief had nothing to make of this and so he just was vunerable and raw with emotion which was probably the main reason he just ran away.

[Thor]

Thor looked up as Loki spoke again.

"You're right. Neither of us can tell the future. But we can both agree on one thing. Things are different between us now. We're not the same people who fought in New Mexico, Asgard, or New York. We're brothers again. I feel it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But I have hope we can be a family again. And that's enough for me." said Thor.

He smiled glad Loki said he would be careful out there. He paused as Loki said he'd take his word.

"It is my word and my vow. I won't let anyone hurt you. Not if I can help it. You're my brother. My family." said Thor.

He paused as Loki backed away saying until they met again.

"Until next time my brother." said Thor.

He paused rushing forward wrapping Loki into a hug again.

"I don't want you to go but I know you must. Goodbye Loki." said Thor.

He pulled away and picked up Mjolnir from the ground. He then began walking away towards the camp.
