The Science Of Romance (Insano, Malachite)

[Dr. Insuedo]

(February 23rd.)

Insuedo sat at a table in the back drinking. He'd made a lot of progress with Dr. Smith making inventions and things. Seven had helped a little before she'd gone off to be a spy. He found he really missed the other members who had left. And one, in particular, came to mind. Insano. He considered him a kindred spirit in away. They were Insanos from separate universes. Dr. Smith was a lot of fun to work with and so was Mechakara, Seven of Eleven, Seven of Nine, Dark Heart, and the rest who helped them out in the lab. But it had felt different from Insano as if they were compatible in some way. He was sure he'd be drunk by the end of the night. Thankfully he had a teleporter so once he found a safe place he could just teleport home. He sighed taking another sip of his drink as his mind kept drifting to Insano.

[Dr. Insano]

Ironically enough, another scientist was at the front of the bar, drinking his brains out. He was so annoyed with his army, well new army, that he wanted to escape and luckily was given permission. He was loyal to Facilier, very loyal, but something about the army was just not right. He hated Ask Thatguy but regretted leaving, especially Dr. Smith and Dr. Insuedo. Though he had much more thoughts about leaving Insuedo more than Smith. Insuedo was a cute thing, innocent and willing to help while he was cynical and more focused. To Insano, Insuedo was his ying to his yang and he missed the younger scientist quite a bit.

He gulped one more big beer, enough to cause him to feel more buzzed in his life. He was sure he was drunk but he was sure that Insuedo was in the back. Surprisingly sounding sober, Insano lazily walked over to see that Insuedo was indeed there and responded as such in shock "Insuedo! You're here?!"

[Dr. Insuedo]

Insuedo looked up seeing Insano and grinned in spite of himself.

"I was just thinking about you. I wish you hadn't left. Smith's a nice enough fellow but I miss you." said Insuedo.

He paused pulling something from his pocket and pointing it at Insuedo.

"But stay back alright. Or you'll get it." said Insuedo.

He was too drunk at first to realize he was holding at electronic egg beater he'd accidentally grabbed instead of a laser gun. He then realized what it was blushing and giggled. He put it back in his pocket.

"Uh nevermind. I guess if you want some eggs I got you covered." said Insuedo.

He giggled again at the bad joke. It seemed a lot funnier that it was probably because he was drunk.

[Dr. Insano]

Dr. Insano was tempted to leave this be, unsure to handle the regret of treason but Insuedo grabbed a eggbeater and told him to stay. He was so drunk and amused, Dr. Insano laughed hysterically "My god man. You're so funny. Never realized that you had a sense of humor" The younger scientist seemed to be drunk also but that didn't stop Insano from taking a seat next to Insuedo. Insano put a lazy hand on Insuedo's shoulder and responded to Insuedo's first response to him "Really? What a ironic situation. I was missing you and smith, but mostly you, a lot. How is the science department doing at that guy's house?" Dr. Insano was blushing as he was talking, a bit tired from the alcohol boozing but he was smiling too, making sure to pay perfect attention to Dr. Insuedo

[Dr. Insuedo]

Insuedo chuckled as well.

"I feel stupid. I thought I brought my gun." said Insuedo.

If he was sober he'd probably be scared without a weapon and his enemy here in the bar with him. All it would take was Insano to have a gun or call backup and he'd be their prisoner. But he wasn't even thinking about that at the moment.

He grinned when Insano said he was missing him.

"Really? You missed me?" asked Insuedo.

He blushed and giggled in spite of himself. Insano had actually missed him. He paused as Insano mentioned how was science department over there.

"Well with you, Mechakara, and the others gone it was harder on us but we manage. I got some new ideas but I'm not going to tell you. Wouldn't want you to beat us to it." said Insuedo, chuckling.

He took another sip as he grinned chatting with him.

"I wish I could convince you to come back with me. I don't know why you chose to go with three sorcerers. Malachite's goal is to destroy all technology including science. Which means at some point he's going to kill you and Mechakara and the others. Your dooming yourselves if you stay with him." said Insuedo.

[Dr. Insano]

"Don't worry. I didn't bring mine either!" Dr. Insano said, but it was so cheerful it was like he was celebrating the fact he was completely defenseless. Let alone confessing he was defenseless to his now-made enemy. Dr. Insano gave a slight wink at the question of the younger scientist's question "Of course I did. I may not like the boss you work for but I like you quite a bit" He then turned to acknowledge the fact thanks to his betrayal, supposed willing betrayal, things science-wise were a bit out of place. It both pleased and made him a bit sorry. Smith and Insuedo really needed him.

He grinned wider, as if Insuedo was fooling around and being jokey. He knew it was serious, or he would know it was serious if he was sober but he laughed it all off. He then patted Insuedo on the back "I might be asking for death and I might be stupid to be trusting magic over science but I can't be convinced to go back to Ask Thatguy and his goonie patrol. Not after what I went through" He giggled a bit, tempted to go get another so he wouldn't be watching Insuedo drink but insano's rational side told him he would probably throw up. Besides he was drunk, beyond drunk. He started to look Insuedo up and down and responded "Have you always been this thin? It's quite nice"

[Dr. Insuedo]

Insuedo grinned at that. So they'd both come here without guns to get drunk. He giggled at that.

"So we're both brilliant scientists who came to a bar with no weapons while we're in the middle of a war? How amusing. I guess it's a good thing you're my friend or I'd be worried." said Insuedo.

He paused realizing what he said even in his drunken stupor. He still considered Insano his friend despite him switching sides. He looked at him and listened to him say he was probably asked for death but he couldn't be convinced to go back to Ask That Guy.

"Not even for me? I miss you. I don't want to see you get hurt or worse." said Dr. Insuedo.

He paused as he heard the question.

"Yeah I suppose I have. Fast metabolism and all that. I wouldn't be able to get fat if I wanted to." said Insuedo, chuckling.

He paused taking another gulp of beer while setting the cup down. There was another reason why he had missed Insano all this time. He'd started to fall for the man but he'd not shown it. Hiding behind science and drinking like tonight to mask his pain. It had gotten worse when Insano betrayed them and left with Facilier's group as he couldn't even admire him from afar anymore. He leaned forward kissing Insano on the lips for what felt like forever but was probably a few seconds. Insuedo pulled back blushing as he returned to drinking his beer not able to look at Insano. He was sure Insano would reject him and didn't really want to see the look on his face when he did. Of course he would be unprepared for what happened next.

[Dr. Insano]

Insano smirked listening to Insuedo and frowned a bit at the disappointment Insuedo had in his voice as Insano said he wouldn't go back. Insano shrugged when Insuedo asked not even for him would Insano come back. He honestly couldn't answer and said nothing. He was shocked to hear that the younger scientist would not want to see him get hurt or dead. He tried hard not to laugh as Dr. Insuedo mentioned he had high metabolism and wouldn't get fat if he even tried to. Insano then saw Insuedo become quiet and shy. Something was up. Something the younger scientist was hiding even from him.

"Insuedo?" He asked but what Insuedo did surprised him. Grantite it would've surprised him sober-wise but Insano was aware drunk antics were surprising regardless of attention span. Insuedo kissing him made Insano feel that time just stopped and they sat there, kissing and Insuedo pulled back embarrassed. Insano would've comforted the younger scientist finally giving into his own inner desires and confessing but Insano wasn't thinking clearly. So instead of that, Insano pulled Insuedo to look into his goggles, where frankly his eyes were, and said, smooth as silk "Hey don't hide. Nobody can stop us. I had a feeling you were hiding something. I've been hiding something myself. I've been waiting a while to do this, now I will"

Insano quickly pulled Insuedo near him and passionately took the younger man's lips and kissed him as much as he could.

[Dr. Insuedo]

Insuedo was taken by surprise as Insano pulled him closer and spoke saying he had a feeling he has hiding something. Had he really been that obvious? He was surprised as Insano pulled him even closer and kissed him. Insuedo returned the kiss wrapping his hands around Insano's waist enjoying the moment. He probably should be worried he was falling in love with the enemy but he was too drunk and too happy to care. That would be tomorrow's problem. He eventually pulled back grinning.

"If I'd known you felt the same way I'd have done that sooner. But I'm glad I did it now." said Insuedo.

He giggled clearly drunk as he took another swig of beer before turning back to Insano.

"So how long have you felt this way? I think I've been denying this for awhile. I'm not sure when it started but I just know I really like you." said Insuedo.

[Dr. Insano]

"For a while. Since we met. Had to hide it though because I was worried about what you thought" Insano said after a while. He was indeed worried about what Insuedo thought so he wasn't lying. He knew this would cause trouble later but right now he could care less. He was confessing his feelings and therefore it was no harm done. The drunk scientist smirked, giggling slightly, before quieting down. He then responded patiently "Well now that we both know how we feel, we might as well wonder what we should do with this information" Obviously he was giving hints on what to do but he wanted the younger scientist to guess, as well as say it out loud. He didn't mind men, he had a preference with men anyway, but he also had interests with women. This was because he was bisexual but people always judged that he was just gay, and Insano corrected them despite not having a problem being assumed as such

[Dr. Insuedo]

Insuedo smiled shocked and couldn't help but grin. He had liked hime for that long?

"You've liked me for nearly two months and didn't say anything. Wow. I guess it's been a few weeks so I guess I was worried about what you thought too. I guess we were both acting like fools." said Insuedo.

He paused as Insano pretty much asked what they were going to do now with the information out in the open.

"What can we do? We're on different armies. You won't come back with me and I.."

He paused trailing off. Maybe he could go back with Insano. Smith, BLS, and others had suggested some of them had been brainwashed.

"You're not thinking clearly. We think Facilier, Rita, and Malachite brainwashed you, Mechakara, and some of the others. Think about it. You were second in command of Ask That Guy's army. Why would you give that up to become just a soldier." said Insuedo.

He knew he was probably giving information away. But he had to try to persuade him something was wrong. Perhaps if he was far enough away from the trio their magic wouldn't work.

[Dr. Insano]

"Most likely we were acting that way" God Insano wanted to kiss him again. The young scientist was so smart and adorable. Insano's head pounded and it probably wasn't the booze, it was the spell. He turned to Insuedo and listened to his suggestion that maybe Facilier wasn't as great as he was assumed. Insano's head hurt the more Insuedo talked and despite this, Insano listened. The scientist looked up and down at Insuedo and calmly responded "I wouldn't give up a high command. You're right, but I don't have a choice anymore. I can't go back.... Not after what I did"

Insano put his hand over to Insuedo's cheek and responded "Maybe you can come over with me for the night. You don't have to. If we get caught, I'll vouch for you. I swear. I won't give this up now that we know each other's love for one another. I lost a love once, I won't lose you" At that Insano couldn't help himself and went over to Insuedo's face and passionately kissed him once more. Yes it was the drunk lust but something in Insano's soul and mind told him to do this. It felt right.

[Dr. Insuedo]

Insuedo grinned as he listened to him. He paused as Insano seemed to listen to him but he couldn't go back.

"I'll find a way to get you back. Now that I know you like me now way I am letting them keep you away from me. And you could come back. We're trying to find a way to save you guys." said Insuedo.

Insuedo paused as Insano said he could come over for the night. If he was thinking clearly he probably would have said no. But he wanted to hang out with him more, and to be with him. He nodded.

"Of course I will. And it's not like they're going to come bursting into your room in the middle of the night right? I could just sneak out probably and they would never know." said Insuedo.

He paused as Insano kissed him again as he returned it and grinned. He no longer felt lonely and wanted this to last. He eventually pulled away to breathe again and grinned. He took another swig of his beer and grinned. He then pulled him into another kiss.

[Dr. Insano]

Insano heard what Insuedo said about helping Insano come back but he was too focused on kissing him rather than acknowledging it. He DID acknowledge Insuedo accepting his invitation to come back to the Facilier area with him. As they kissed, Insano felt content, and felt disappointment slowly rise as Insuedo pulled to breathe, only to kiss him again. Yes. He finally didn't have the confinements of not being in a relationship anymore. Sure it was forbidden in some ways but Insano didn't care. He cared for Insuedo and that was good enough for him

"Yes. You'll come with me tonight then tomorrow morning you'll sneak out back to your side" He murmured to Insuedo's ear once they pulled back from their current kiss

[Dr. Insuedo]

Insuedo grinned as he was enjoying spending time with him. He grinned as he kissed him again. He nodded as Insano practically whispered into his ear that he'd come with him and tomorrow he'd be snuck out. He grinned and kissed him again.

"Well then let's be off. This might be the last night we get to spend with each other for a while." said Insuedo.

He left a tip at the table as he took Insano's hand as he walked out of the bar.

- Time Skip -

Insuedo yawned as he woke up clutching his pounding head. He saw his clothes were lying on a chair in a pile as he realized he wasn't in his room at Ask That Guy's house. Then everything came rushing back as he realized what he'd just done. He blushed as he got up putting on his clothes. It was still dark out. He could slip out and be gone. No one would have to know he was here. He paused as he realized Insano was waking up. The memory of this night he'd always treasure but with them, on opposite sides, he knew this relationship.. this friendship wouldn't work. And yet he didn't want to stop. He paused as he heard footsteps and then a pounding on the door as his eyes widened.

"Insano open this door. We need to talk. Don't make me blast it down." said a voice.

Insuedo gasped recognizing the voice instantly. It was Malachite. What was he going to do? He turned seeing Insano was awake and now in a similar panic. He realized he had to hide so he turned rushing to the closet but in his haste dropping one of his shoes on the floor.

"Get rid of him." whispered Insuedo.

He then closed the door as he waited for the meeting to be over.
