Ma-Ti looked up as Iheart came back in with her father. He smiled nervously at him.
"Yes. I'm Ma-Ti one of the Planeteers from that show. Some guy in a lab coat with goggles brought me here. He made Dr. Blight seem almost normal." said Ma-Ti.
He smiled shaking his hand and blushed when he said he would get to know her before doing anything date-related.
"I..I.. I just met her today. We're just friends." said Ma-Ti.
Although she was beautiful but he wasn't going to push his luck. He had just met he after all so if something happened later he wouldn't be opposed to it. But he wanted to get to know her first after all. He saw her mouth the words "i'm so sorry" and smiled. He knew it wasn't her fault. Her dad was just watching out for her.
IHeart's father softened his gaze towards Ma-Ti, seeing that the boy was clearly uncomfortable and nervous. Like IHeart, he had the capacity to be extremely friendly. IHeart was a big girl now and was allowed to date, but that didn't mean IHeart's father wasn't going to be a bit careful and it seemed to him that Ma-Ti seemed perfectly well-behaved. After shaking Ma-ti's hand he responded "I know. Darla told me--"
"Dad wait.... Uh, yeah, Darla's my real name" IHeart gulped, not really happy her dad told her real name instead
"Now I know for a fact you two just met. Not that I didn't believe you two" Her dad laughed, and the laugh sounded a bit like Santa's laugh, in being it was jolly and joyful. Her dad continued "So you ARE the real ma-ti. Neat. You were my favorite. Glad that Wheeler isn't near my kid, can't stand him, no offense to you. Anyways, you're free to come by whenever you want Ma-Ti. Sorry I spooked you, I think you're a polite kid"
"Thanks dad" IHeart said, still embarrassed over what her father said. She blushed immensely, looking very beet red. Her father didn't notice "Well you two do whatever you teenagers do. Video games or such..."
"We're planning for Ma-Ti to be in my review dad" IHeart responded, the blush not gone yet
"OH YEAH!" Her father laughed "Darla's a real hysterical kid. She'll be the best comedian one day. She's also really smart. Did I ever tell you when she was ten, she asked the cutest question about australia to her histroy teacher, Darla asked her teacher--" Her father made a child's voice while speaking his regular voice "'Ms. Porter is austrailia a continent or a country?' And her teacher responded 'Good question dear it's both'" Her dad ruffled IHeart's hair and responded "That's when I knew she was off for something big. She already acheived amazing in my eyes but I mean like doing a big job. She got one now with Nostalgia Critic"
IHeart smiled now, really flattered and humbled by her father. She winked to Ma-Ti, giving a message that he was a good person and nice man. She responded back "Stop dad. It's not that big"
"Nonsense. Of course it is. Ma-Ti, tell her that it is!" Her dad said encouragingly
He paused turning to her as they both said her real name was Darla.
"I figured Iheart wasn't your real name. Sounded like something you'd have as an author or something." said Ma-Ti.
He paused as the dad laughed saying he knew they just met. He paused as he said he was glad he wasn't Wheeler. Ma-Ti smirked at that.
"She's a bit too young for him. Besides, he was always hitting on Gi and Linka." said Ma-Ti.
He chuckled as Iheart reminded her father Ma-Ti was going to cameo in her review. He paused as he listened to her father. He chuckled at the question which was indeed true. A shame they only had five rings. They never got a Planeteer from Australia or the Artic.
"Yep. I cameoed in Nostalgia Critic's review a little while ago. He was reviewing my show and he didn't like it. And even tried to say I wasn't the real Ma-Ti so I punched him. He's probably not that happy about it though." said Ma-Ti.
He paused realizing he'd just said that out loud and blushed.
"Sorry. I just get a bit defensive when someone insults my friends. He kinda of had it coming. And I kind of bolted after that one punch anyway." said Ma-Ti.
He paused as he saw the father wink at them.
"Well, I think your father's right. You have a big job. To entertain your fans and make people laugh. You're like a clown. Well without all the make up." said Ma-Ti.
He paused realizing he probably hadn't phrased that right but hopefully she got the message.
"I had a feeling Wheeler was older than the rest of you. Even if he never acted like it. He was a bit of a smartass in my opinion, again no offense to you" Her father said cheerfully making sure not to offend Ma-Ti. He then took a double hearing over Ma-Ti's confession over Critic being punched and the clown comment.
IHeart blushed, very aware of what Ma-Ti was trying to convey but was still embarrassed over getting a lot of praise today. She ignored that afterwards and was a bit concerned about her father's reaction about Ma-Ti punching Critic. She was worried he was going to be upset. However, both teens were wrong, the older man not only smiled but laughed hard. He slapped his knee and responded "Good for you, sir! Standing up for your friends is fine with me. Just so long as you don't hurt people enough to go to the hospital you're ok" He tried to calm down but responded "Oh my goodness, knowing the Critic he's very opinionated and didn't see that coming. You know, Darla, I like this kid" Suddenly the phone rang and her father frowned and rolled his eyes "The Devil's Advocate's back"
Looking to Ma-Ti IHeart explained "The Devil's Advocate is my father's boss' assistant. He's a jerk. A huge one"
"Nearly fired me over being late taking IHeart to the hospital this one time. Thank god the ACTUAL boss was there to defend me or I'd be clear. He's gonna get fired one of these days" IHeart's father responded, he kissed IHeart's cheek and responded "Gotta go. Nice meeting you Ma-Ti" Then IHeart's father went to the living room to talk to the bosses assistant.
"Hey wanna have a tour of my room before we get started on the cameo?" IHeart said eventually
"Well actually they were all about the same age. I was the youngest one. I was 12 when I first joined and they were all 14 or 15." said Ma-Ti.
He paused as the man said he was a smartass and Ma-Ti sighed. He knew Wheeler had an attitude at times but he viewed them all as brothers and sisters, like a family.
"Well it wasn't easy for him you know? I was lucky to have the shaman raise me after I lost my parents. But Wheeler he never really had a father. His father was always drinking and abusive. If he hadn't had his mother he'd probably have gone to jail or joined a gang. He acts tough but he comes through when it matters. It took him awhile to trust us you know? To let his guard down around us. I understand if you don't like him but just know he's not always like that." said Ma-Ti.
He paused as the man burst into laughter listening to him say he punched Critic.
"Well I didn't expect that." said Ma-Ti.
He smiled as the man said he was glad he stood up for his friends just as long as he didn't hurt them too badly. He nodded not wanting to hurt anyone.
"Nope. He didn't. I hope he's not looking for me or something." said Ma-Ti.
He paused glancing nervously out the window glad to not see any sign of the Critic. The topic then turned to her father's job as he heard him.
"Gee sounds like some of the guys I used to tangle with. Sounds like the man has no heart. I pity him." said Ma-Ti.
Then her father left as he turned to Iheart.
"Sure. If you want I can wait outside if you want to hide anything embarassing like posters or something." said Ma-Ti, teasing her.
IHeart was aware of what Ma-Ti said and even her father was aware but the conversation ended as her father needed to talk with her boss's assistant. Afterwards, she smirked at Ma-Ti's comment "Nope. You'll enjoy the posters I have. Mostly because they involve how awesome the movies I watch are" She giggled and turned her head to the room and as the two went upstairs she responded "So the review I'm doing now is The Jungle Book. The walt disney cartoon version, there's strangely a lot of those types of movies going around"
Ma-Ti chuckled following her into her room seeing a few posters on the wall from movies or bands. Most he didn't really recognize which made sense since he was from another world after all. He paused as she talked about the Jungle Book.
"The Jungle Book huh? Reminds me of my story. An orphan in the jungle. I was lucky to raised by my tribal chief. Although I think it would be fun to be raised by wolves. Although the thought of running into a python or tiger doesn't sound that fun." said Ma-Ti.
He smiled as he turned to her.
"So about this cameo? Am I supposed to be Mowgli or something?" asked Ma-Ti.
"Facing a snake is like facing a zombie. Scary, pointless and strange" IHeart laughed. However the mention of Ma-Ti's past made her smile "I wish I could meet your tribe someday. Somehow. It sounds gorgous" She snapped out of whatever trance she was in and responded to Ma-Ti's questions. She smiled and said "Heh. Yes. You're mowgli. The line you have is "I'm just gonna stand here and not run away from the giant cat about to eat me alive. A cat that's twice my size and twice my height what could possibly go wrong?" And then I'll cut it and get you into the bandages so we can do the next cameo. For right now though just say that when the camera rolls. Kay?" IHeart hoped her instructions were simple and pleasant. She also hoped Ma-Ti would not be offended with saying that.
Ma-Ti nodded listening to her. He looked at her confused.
"But snakes aren't just interested in your brains. But then again I suppose zombies, vampires, and other monsters have sort of been dumbed down. They're almost never scary now and just used for romance or for comedy. I used to watch the classic monster movies and those were scary. I wonder if there's anything like that today." said Ma-Ti.
He paused turning to Iheart when she confirmed he was Mowgli. He sighed but shrugged it off. He paused looking at her and nodded. He nodded and glanced at her.
"Well it was stupid it was brave. Although the movie's ending makes no sense. He's proven he could beat Shere Khan so he could go stay with Baloo and Bagheera or go back with the wolves." said Mowgli.
He paused as an idea came to him.
"Then again Mowgli acts more like a spoiled brat than a kid raised by wolves. Wolves can be friendly to each other and all. But you'd think he'd be taught how to hunt, to protect himself. And he acts like he stumbled into the jungle not lived in it. At least Disney did Tarzan better than Mowgli." said Ma-Ti.
(ooc: Guess we could do a time skip to after the review unless you want to have time do parts of it?)
"True, true. But I don't watch a lot of horror films. That's not my line of entertainment anyway. Just was being sarcastic is all" IHeart agreed to what Ma-Ti said about zombies and snakes. She then smiled at the fact Ma-Ti commented on what he felt about the movie. She nodded in agreement "I actually like the ending a lot but other than that, I agree with most that you said. Mowgli is just annoying but the rest of the characters are cool" She smiled wider thinking about Baloo, her personal favorite character in the film.
She then nodded in complete agreement to the idea Ma-Ti head about Mowgli "And that sir, is why I love Tarzan more than The Jungle Book. That and why I feel Tarzan is a better protagionist then Mowgli" She then got the camera ready and responded with a smile "Alright! Let's get started" ________
After ten minutes the filming of Ma-Ti was done, IHeart laughed a bit and responded to Ma-Ti happily "That was great Ma-Ti! So funny! You did a great job!" She may have been over-reacting but she seriously had a good time with Ma-Ti's cameos
Ma-Ti paused realizing she was sarcastic and blushed a little.
"Right. Sarcasm. I knew that." said Ma-Ti.
He paused as she agreed and he chuckled.
"Maybe I should get on my own show." joked Ma-Ti.
He smiled as she said she agreed with him. Mowgli was a bit annoying but the rest of the cast was cool.
"Yeah. I mean it had several villains each a danger in their own way. Kaa nearly ate Mowgli a couple times. Louie wanted to be a human and Shere Khan nearly killed him. It was luckcy they were fighting in a storm as there really isn't much fire in the forest." said Ma-Ti.
He nodded as Iheart agreed to get start.
- Time Skip-
The review was done and they'd filmed everything for it including Ma-Ti's part. He chuckled at her enthuisasm.
"Thanks. I'm always glad to help out a friend. If you ever want me to appear in any more of these let me know. Although probably should'nt do it too many times you know or I'd end up part of your show for good." said Ma-Ti.
He chuckled after his last line. He'd had a lot of fun and wouldn't mind doing more cameos. He turned to her.
"So what do you want to do now? Watch a movie or something?" asked Ma-Ti.
IHeart was happy to have company around. Ma-Ti was really fun and funny to be with. She laughed a bit at his last line "Yeah, don't want you to steal my show" She joked. Then she smiled happily at the mere mention of watching a movie. She nodded "Sure we got plenty of movies behind you" She pointed to a cabinet in her room filled with plenty of movies, there was still room for more but there were quite a lot right now. IHeart laughed and said "Quite a collection right? Pick any one!"
Ma-Ti grinned. He'd only known her a little while and it felt like forever. She was a good friend. He paused at the realization this was the first time he'd been without Souichi longer than a few hours as he wiped his tears that began to form. He looked at her and grinned trying to hide his sadness. Feeling homesick wouldn't change anything. It wasn't like there was a way back. He paused glancing at the movies and chuckled.
"You certainly do have a lot of them. Why don't you pick? You know them better than I do." said Ma-Ti.
IHeart's chuckling dropped instantly as Ma-Ti began to tear up and cry. The last thing the girl wanted was her friends to feel upset, so the girl encouraged Ma-Ti "Hey it's ok. I'll try to find a good movie huh?" IHeart quickly looked over and tried to find one the both of them would enjoy. She found two that were pretty cool The Matrix and Star Trek 6. Quickly she gave them to Ma-Ti and responded "I can't decide between these two. Just poke one out for me. I want you to see both but we gotta do one at a time you know?"
