Regrets (90's Kid, Linkara)

[Harvey Finevoice]

(ooc: February 25th. Atop the fourth wall characters only.)

Harvey walked into the room and sighed. He was so glad Lottie was back. Sure he was glad Rachel, Ace, Grimhilde and Freckles had escaped too but they still had a few members. But then Snob had gotten caught in that mission. He felt even guilty for leaving Snob to get caught. He wished they could just get Snob, Iheart, and the others back already. Hadn't this army been through enough already? Couldn't they just all be here and have a little peace? He sighed as he headed into the kitchen and pulled out a beer chugging half of it down pretty quickly getting a slight buzz.

"Damn it Snob. Why did you back for them? You should come with us. I should have stopped you from going back." said Harvey.

He turned looking up hearing footsteps and sighed seeing it was Linksano, Linkara, and 90's Kid.

Linksano walked into the living room hearing a familiar voice realizing it was Harvey. He then noticed Linkara and 90's Kid had joined him as he must have zoned out not noticing when they got here.

"It wasn't your fault Harvey. You were outnumbered. You got Lottie and the others out of there. You did good." said Linksano.

[Linkara]

"Linksano's totally right Harvey!" 90's Kid responded, surprisingly calmer than he was in his whole life, though he still had that dumbass look he always wore. 90's kid pumped his fists up "We got Freckles, Rachel, the queen babe and ace back! Plus we got Lottie! That babe being back should make you happy right dude?" 90's kid knew now that lottie and harvey were together as a couple so it made 90's kid feel like Harvey should've been excited, not drinking his heart's content

"Besides dude we'll get them back! Right Linkara? We'll think of something" 90's Kid responded, looking to the leader for help

"Right 90's Kid we'll think of something, for now though we need to just stick to now. But Harvey, you shouldn't feel guilty for something that Facilier's scum did. It wasn't your fault. It wasn't much of a failure either, we got people back. You did great Harvey. Don't drink like this, you know you've stopped for a long time" Linkara responded taking the half-drinked bottle away as Harvey sighed at them. Linkara sat next to Harvey and looked to the older man with some sort of calm acknowledgement

"I want them back too Harvey, but we got to be content with what we have. Plus, Lottie's back along with other people. That's good" Linkara patiently said

Harvey sighed as Linkara took the bottle away.

"I know you're right kid. It doesn't make me feel any better though. I went there to rescue people. Rogue, 90's Kid, Rachel, and Lottie, and I got out. But Snob, Iheart, Chester, and Nani are still in there. And it was Snob's idea. I just feel bad I didn't at least get Snob out of there. He wasn't supposed to join them." said Harvey.

He frowned in annoyance. He hated failing. This war was a new concept to them. Sure they'd fought against Linksano (when he was evil), Mechakara, Lord Vyce, Judas Liz, and others. But those were random isolated events they could control. It just brought back his feelings about Linkara going missing when Vyce took him for months.

"Any luck on finding a way to free them?" asked Harvey.

He nodded to Linkara.

"You're right though. I'm glad Lottie's back. If she was still there I'd probably have driven myself crazy by now." said Harvey.

Linksano patted Harvey's shoulder sympathetically.

"Don't worry. We'll get them out. They'll be back here before you know it." said Linksano.

He nodded and could understand Harvey's frustrations at failing to get Snob out of there as well as the other three captives that Facilier now had since the army had split after that.

"We're working on it Harvey. And we'll put you on the rescue team. Mechakara, Vyce, and the others won't get away with holding them. Both armies have a lot to answer for and we'll make them all pay once we get our friends back." said Linksano.

[Linkara]

"I know harvey. I know. I don't like the fact we lost either. In fact, I wanna go out there and get them myself but you and I both know that's a incredibly bad idea" Linkara patiently responded. He knew what the older man was going through, Linkara had battles of inner guilt himself. He hated the fact IHeart was still there. He was really worried about her. What was her condition? Hell what was the whole condition of the prisoners in general? This was a pickle that didn't need to be made.

"We're having you be one of the leaders of the rescue team. The people responsible for the captives will pay Harvey. And trust me, this time we won't fail the others. We'll fix it" Linkara promised, wanting desperately to help his singing, protective, tough-guy co-leader to feel better. Harvey was one of his closest friends and even though he cared about the others, Harvey was basically a right-hand man. He looked to Linksano, very glad for his support in this too

"See? It ain't all that bad dude. You're right, we're real positive if Lottie was back there it'd be crazy for ya. Don't worry dude. It'll be ok soon and we'll be totally extreme with our new rescue idea!" 90's Kid exclaimed positively and put his fists up in the air again. Yes this was a bit too positive for the setting but the poor young 90's kid was doing his best to cheer Harvey up. Even though the singer wasn't in the mood

[Harvey Finevoice]

Harvey nodded.

"You're right. I guess I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and get ready to act. But we gotta do something about this. They've kidnapped members from our own base Linkara. We got most of them back but that's not the point. We need a safe haven they can't get too. I don't want someone trying to kill me or kidnap me in my sleep. Or go after Lottie or one of the others again." said Harvey.

Linksano smiled seeing Harvey was getting back to his old self again and he nodded.

"Don't worry. Tony, Donny, Linkara, and the rest of us are working on it. For now, I've decided to set up a temporary forcefield that's calibrated to our communicators. It will let us pass through it easy enough but anyone else couldn't get through. I just created it last night and set it up. But unfortunately, we don't have enough power to keep that running forever. It should buy us enough time to update the security systems though." said Linksano.

Harvey was right though. If they couldn't feel safe here they were doing something wrong. He hoped they could finish the updates to the security system soon.

[Linkara]

Linkara was relieved that Harvey snapped out of it and came back to his usual self. The thinking, helpful, smart, sarcastic self that Linkara grown used to. Linkara nodded and responded "Actually to prevent captures and things, Joe and Marzgurl told me about possibly having Roses' house be the safe haven in case things got really wrong. So even though we have Linksano's force field, he's right it can't last forever so that'll be our plan B"

"DUDE! We have a possible new house in our possession! Totally radical!" 90's Kid shouted in delight. Now that Harvey was himself, so was he. He wasn't going to be a bummer about the war either. He was going to help and be there. That was what he always tried to be.

[Harvey Finevoice]

Harvey nodded listening to him.

"A safe house huh. I think I'll volunteer there. At least for awhile. They're going to need fighters to protect the injured and kids who can't fight for themselves. Of course I'd be the last stand in case they either kill or slip by the rest of you. And it wouldn't be forever. I could for for a few days or something and then switch out with someone from here if I get bored. Or you guys need me." said Harvey.

Linksano turned to Harvey as he suggested a rotation of guards as he grinned.

"A marvelous idea. This way we're always having someone guard the safe house and no one would have to do it all the time. We could have a few there permanently but maybe a couple members who rotate out" said Linksano.

He paused turning to Linkara.

"What do you think?" asked Linksano.

He grinned at 90's Kid's enthusiasm. The kid sure knew how to make you feel happy. The four of them together talking like this felt like old times. He missed Ninja Style Dancer and the others but they were okay for now. And hopefully some of them would come to back them up eventually.

[Linkara]

Linkara smirked to Linksano "I think that's a great idea. We'll have perminant members there, the children are perminant I'm sure but we'll see and having rotations would be useful in case Harvey or someone wants a piece of those scumbag other armies" Linkara chuckled at 90's Kid, also amused with the child's happiness and enthusiasm. Linkara nodded "Sounds good Harvey. They do need fighters there and you are most definitely a fighter"

"Yeah! Harvey with his tommy gun is totally badass!" 90's Kid agreed "Can I go too? I'll help out with the kiddies! The kids like me I think! It don't matter if I stay there perminantly or for a while. I just wanna help out!" 90's Kid sounded more soft there. Mostly because he was really serious about it. He wanted to help out and protect. He hadn't done that recently.

[Harvey Finevoice]

Harvey nodded as he listened to them.

"Sounds great. It won't be forever. And you guys promise to visit as often as you can. I'll make sure to visit here as well. The four of us have hung out together so much. It's going to feel odd living in a separate house without you guys. But I know it's worth it." said Harvey.

He turned to 90's Kid and grinned.

"Of course you can come. I'd have asked you to come anyway. I'd feel more like home with you there. I'm going to try ask Lottie to come with me. I hope she does." said Harvey.

Linksano nodded.

"I agree. You two go and keep the kids and injured safe. We'll hold down the fort here." said Linksano.

He paused as he turned to the others.

"You guys should start making the preparations tomorrow. It's been awhile that the four of us hung out together. We should have some fun today while we can. It might be a few days before we can hang out." said Linksano.

[Linkara]

"We will definitely visit and we'll be sure to keep you updated on what happens. And once things are settled with injured and with the kids, be sure to come back and use that tommy gun kay?" Linkara said cheerfully. He was liking this conversation of plans. It was settled now. The kids would be safe. Harvey would be doing more. IHeart would be happy. It was easy. Right? Then Linksano mentioned that they should have some fun and hang out. Linkara smiled "Completely agree. Let's go someplace. Whatever you guys want. It's on me!"

"Alright Harvey! Yeah! We'll both have total fun back at Roses place! And maybe Lottie can come like Harvey said!" 90's Kid cheerfully responded. He was glad Harvey didn't reject the idea. He was also glad harvey, linksano and linkara were dealing with him happily. Maybe the war was getting to them and making all four of them closer than before. He ignored that though at the mention of hanging out "Dude! Let's go to the mall! They have jazz, science stuff and arcades! It'll be total fun!" He looked to the other three with puppy eyes "Please? Can we go? Please please pretty please? With ice cream and stuff?"

[Dr. Linksano/Wayne Schlumper]

Linksano nodded glad everything was settled. He paused hearing 90's Kid and chuckled.

"The mall's fine by me. But let's just stick to the food court. I'm not in the mood to go walking around looking at stuff I'm not going to get. Besides I don't have the money." said Linksano.

He paused waiting for the others to respond.

Harvey nodded grinning at 90's Kid's enthusiasm.

"The mall sounds good to me. But yeah. I'm in the mood to hang out with you guys. Not go shopping. After we eat we could go somewhere else. Unless you two really need to shop." said Harvey.

[Linkara]

"We don't need to shop. The mall food court sounds like a good place to chat. I say we go too. We don't have to shop just because we're in the mall" Linkara smiled, also glad with 90's Kid enthusiasm. He looked to the other three and then checked the kitchen to get his wallet, and was especially glad to see he had enough money to buy food for the four of the people present. He put it in his pocket and clapped his hands together rubbing them "Well then! Shall we? Let's just get moving"

"Yeah we don't need to shop. I just totally wanna go to the mall. It's been a while" 90's Kid responded, sincere in what he said. He suggested the mall because he thought it was the best place nearby. A diner or cafe really didn't sound appealing because of the small groups there. A mall would make 90's Kid feel like he was still living in his world, and therefore would cheer him up, because he was extremely grateful of living in a world where he knew people and understood what things were and who was who. He looked to Linkara and went over to the door like a excited puppy "Yeah guys! Let's go!"

[Dr. Linksano/Wayne Schlumper]

Harvey grinned at them.

"Then what are we waiting for? Oh wait. I can't exactly walk around with swords and things at a mall. They haven't attacked us in public yet but we shouldn't risk it. You got any of those Blade Blasters handy? We could carry them in our pockets and they could pass for toys if anyone sees them. They'll look at us oddly but no one's liable to arrest us or freak out." Said Harvey.

Linksano nodded.

"Good idea Harvey. Just a moment." said Harvey.

He paused returning with four Blade Blasters, handing one to 90's Kid, Linkara, and Harvey and keeping one for himself.

"Your magic gun you can take but I wouldn't risk using it in the open. We don't want to start a riot. Now let's go." said Linksano.

- Time Skip -

The quartet arrived at the mall's food court having teleported there landing safely in an alley where no one was watching. They walked to the mall a couple blocks away as they walked in. Harvey and Linksano both went to Chik-Fil-A and ordered a chicken sandwich, fries, and a coke. They then stepped aside along 90's Kid and Linkara to order.

[Linkara]

90's Kid was excited. He was going to hang out with his close friends and enjoy himself after a lot of waiting. Linkara also was excited, for the same reasons. He was about to ask about the magic gun but Linksano beat him to it and the four set off for the mall. Linkara was slightly worried that the others would worry about them but he was sure they could handle being without him for a while.

*Time Skip*

90's Kid took a simple kids meal of a chicken sandwich with chocolate milk and fries. Linkara also ordered a big chicken sandwich but without any sides and took a simple fruit punch drink. Linkara had insisted in paying for everyone despite protests and indeed paid the cashier full amount of money for the four eating out. 90's Kid happily sat next to Linksano while Linkara got his order and everyone elses, then gave them out and sat next to harvey.

"Ahhh. This is nice" Linkara said cheerfully

90's Kid didn't say anything, just delightfully took a bite out of his sandwich but nodded in agreement to what Linkara just said.

[Dr. Linksano/Wayne Schlumper]

Harvey nodded.

"It certainly is. Thanks for this guys. I needed it." said Harvey.

He smiled as he kept eating. Hopefully soon they'd have Snob, Iheart, and the others back. But for now he couldn't keep blaming himself. That wouldn't help rescue anyone. He had to be ready to help with the rescue.

"So you guys working on any secret project lately? Like that forcefield you built?" asked Harvey.

Linksano grinned as well as he ate. This was wonderful. Just the four of them eating, and hanging out. They all needed this. They'd been stressed out. But now they could all relax and have some fun today. Hearing Harvey's question he shook his head.

"Well aside from upgrading security and that forcefield not much. But I will start making some new inventions soon. I feel like I'm falling behind Linkara and the others." said Linksano.

He smiled as he kept eating enjoying his food.

"So any idea what the four of us should do next? Go bowling or something?" asked Linksano.
