An Ambush

[Dark Nella/Nella Black]

(January 12th. Night. Set during the same time as A Daring Rescue. Dark Nella leading a group of villains to rescue Pinocchio and attack the critic's army.)

Dark Nella, Myotismon, and Dr. Smith stood at the front of the small group.

"I've disabled any security they have for the moment. But if Linksano's as smart as Dr. Insano he may have backup plans so we should be quick." said Dr. Smith.

"He's right. Most of them will be asleep or caught off guard. This is the perfect time to attack." said Myotismon.

He flew up to the upstairs window looking for signs of anyone asleep or their missing ally. Inside Nani lay asleep on a bed. Myotismon smirked as he flew in crashing the window alerting everyone.

"Now's the time. Let's go." said Dark Nella

She charges at the door waving her hand as it unlocks and opens magically. She charges into the house holding her sword and smirks.

"Knock. Knock. Can Nostalgia Critic and his army come out and play?" asked Dark Nella.

Dr. Smith follows her inside and smirks. Time for the fun to begin.

[Nani Pelaki]

Nani woke up hearing the crash as she saw Myotismon suddenly jump through the window. She was grateful Lilo wasn't inside with her but she had to get out and get help.

"Help! A vampire's in my room!" shouted Nani.

She ran to the door flinging it open and ran out. Myotismon followed her slowly.

Chester woke up hearing a shout about vampires as she rushed out seeing someone chased after Nani downstairs.

"A vampire! Where's Buffy when you need her?" said Chester.

He turned and headed downstairs hoping to find garlic or something to use to stop Myotismon.

Linksano was in his laboratory with Marzgurl when their machines had gone out.

"This must be Dr. Insano's handiwork. If they're trying to attack us know we're weaker than ever with the others gone to rescue Morpheus and Nostalgia Chick." said Linksano.

"I know. But we can't let them win. We still have children here as well as injured people like Critic and Rachel who can't fight back properly." said Marzgurl.

She turned and ran out the door arming herself with a blade blaster as well her staff she used when she dressed up as Princess Monoke in Suburban Knights.

Linksano nodded agreeing with her as he pulled out his blade blaster and followed her. They had had job to do here.

Tender Heart had been downstairs when they had burst in. He was using his care Bear Stare to try to stop Dark Nella but alone he wasn't strong enough as a blast of magic soon struck him as he flew backwards.

Dark Nella walked forward glancing down at the Care Bear.

"Where is Pinocchio? I want him back." said Dark Nella.

Harvey, having had a nap, had been awakened by his Dame Alert. It always happened when a beautiful lady was in trouble. Picking up his tommy gun, he raced downstairs to find Doctor Smith and Dark Nella standing over a Care Bear. With a cry of "DUCK!" to all the people on his side, he sent a hailstorm of bullets towards Smith, hoping they would connect. "Well, you're not getting him yet, ya b**tards!"

[Dr. Zachary Smith]

Dr. Smith turned hearing "Duck" and gunfire as he dodged. However the bullet grazed his left side as he fell over. He clutched his left side in pain as he was grateful he'd brought medical supplies. He pulled out some bandages from the medkit and attempted to bandage his side.

Tender Heart ducked as well glad he had a friend on his side. He smiled joining Harvey.

"Thanks for your help." said Tender Heart.

Dark Nella meanwhile had just blasted the bullets with electricity as they blew up mid-air before hitting her. She turned glaring at Harvey and Tender Heart.

"Where is Pinocchio?" asked Dark Nella.

XXXX

Nani came rushing downstairs followed by Myotismon and Chester. Nani & Chester quickly joined Harvey and Tender Heart while Myotismon joined Dark Nella.

"Perhaps we should search the whole house for him." said Myotismon.

"Yes. We will. And once I find him I'll destroy you all." said Dark Nella.

"No problemo." Harvey grinned at Tender Heart "We need a way to stop them getting in." Harvey glared at Nella as she spoke "Yeah, a lot of people seem to be saying that recently. Most of them don't actually get to do it. So, you;ll have to get through us to do it." Damn it Linksano, where are you when we need you?

Just off to the side of the fledgling battle, a small, green flame was beginning to blossom into a person with the same skin tone but twice the ferocity. Maleficent opened her eyes and was met with what she and Grimhilde had feared – their enemies had planned an ambush to regain Pinocchio.

That boy’s more trouble than he’s worth, she thought bitterly, still rather angry that she hadn’t been able to extract any information from him. At least then, all of this might have been worth it.

She aimed multiple blasts of white (and white-hot) lightning at the intruders.

“You won’t find Pinocchio in this house,” the fairy sneered, eyes narrowed. From the sound of it, the invaders didn’t know where Pinocchio was. They needed to use that to their advantage. If they could be lured outside, she could take on her dragon form and give their army an edge. She just hoped her allies would catch on.

Making sure to keep her voice low, Maleficent turned to them oh-so-slightly and said, “Grimhilde knows I’m here. I’ve told her to tell the others if I don’t return. For now, we have to get them outside.”

Bender was slightly late to the party, jumping in through the door after the battle had already gotten started. Though, it wasn't apparent that he cared - he just wanted to wreck the place. He was holding two lazer pistols and probably had at least one more on his person. As he held the two weapons toward the good guys, he was able to get a look at who his enemies were, having only joined Ask ThatGuy's side a couple days ago. He kept himself at his spot, as if he were holding up the place.

Suddenly, bolts of lightning caught his attention. Bender felt one of his legs get struck. His body shuttered for a moment and he nearly lost his grip on his weapons. Once he recovered, he looked toward the green-skinned fairy and turned one of his pistols at her, appearing discontented.

"Cut it out, lady. That tickled," He grumbled, although the hit had done him some damage, apparent by the fact that his leg was still smoking, but Bender had yet to feel it.

When Maleficent had spoken, Bender didn't appear all too swayed. The robot wasn't all into the goal of saving Pinocchi-wakka-whatso himself - he wanted to destory stuff. He turned his head nearly completely around to look at the other villians, as if asking them if they bought it.

Harvey nodded at Maleficent "Yes sir" He was enjoying this, he couldn't wait to get at these horrible, horrible people. Pulling out a smoke grenade, he mouthed "Duck" to Tender Heart, Chester, Nani and Maleficent. He threw it as hard and softly as he could over to the dark side and it exploded, showering the others in smoke. He hoped they would be forced out.

"Really? You think I'm going to believe you sent a prisoner away from camp and left the children upstairs?" said Dark Nella.

She paused as she heard Maleficent give orders and frowned. So some of those fools were trying a rescue of their own. How foolish. She looked at Bender and smirked.

"Fine. Destroy everything and everyone. Except children. Bring them to me to see if it's the one I'm looking for." said Dark Nella.

She then smirked and charged at Maleficent sending a blast of energy at her. She wasn't stupid. She knew Maleficent was stronger in dragon form and possibly even hurt her. She wouldn't give her the chance not unless she turned into a dragon and risked destroying her allies along with the house.

Chester slipped out grabbing weapons handing one to Nani to defend herself as he returned to see the fireworks between the two.

"For The Critic!" shouted Chester.

He charged at Bender swinging his sword wildly.

(ooc: Bender feel free to knock him back, or attack back. Just don't injure him too badly.)

Linksano and Marzgurl came rushing down the stairs but Myotismon was ready for the new arrivals.

"You think a couple friends can increase your odds? You were doomed the moment you started this war. Grizzly Wing!" said Myotismon.

He raised his hands as a bunch of bats flew from his cape and towards the group of remaining heroes.

Nani swung her sword at a couple bats trying to avoid getting bitten or scratched. Also making sure they didn't try to head upstairs to hurt her sister or the others up above.

Linksano raised his Blade Blaster and fired a few shots at the bats who dodged him. He frowned redirecting his attack at Myotismon.

Marzgurl turned seeing Dr. Smith had finished patching himself up as she aimed her own Blade blaster at him ready to fire if he got up. She was glad Maleficent had returned evening the odds.

Dr. Smith stood off finishing patching up his wounds as he spotted the new arrivals. He saw Marzgurl was aimed a laser at him so he remained where he was. He decided to wait for the right moment to strike seeing as the other three were doing quite well for the moment anyway.

"Yo, Tender Heart, think you can give me a hand with old Smithy over there?" Harvey said this while blasting the doctor with machine gun pellets. He hoped that Tender Heart could use that stare thing of his to defeat him.

“I’m female,” Maleficent remarked dryly, unsure whether Harvey had been “joking” or honestly thought otherwise. She watched her lightning bolt hit some sort of metal man and smirked, pleased that it had done some damage.

The fairy carefully masked her scowl when Dark Nella seemed to see through her plan. She at least appeared to be too smart to fall for it. Maleficent would have to come up with something else to get her outdoors. Perhaps making her angry would do. Angry people weren’t the greatest fighters – they couldn’t focus as much.

“I never said I sent him away,” she said smoothly. “I said that you wouldn’t find him here. There’s a big difference.”

She briefly ran her tongue over her dark lips when she finished speaking. The idea at this point was to make Dark Nella think that she had eaten Pinocchio as she had threatened to do that day on the battlefield. Like Ask ThatGuy, Dark Nella seemed to care for the boy and she would likely be upset at the thought of him dying.

“You can’t really blame my allies. They tried to stop me from doing it.”

Maleficent countered the energy blast sent her way with a lightning bolt in the same direction. The two collided and pushed against one another, each trying to push past.

Bender had been slightly pre-occupied with the prospect of crushing the place to turn his head back foreword in time to see the bum charge at him. He felt the weapon swing into his side and jolted, unintentionally fireing a shot from one of the lazer guns into the floor. The robot noticed that the leg that had been zapped perviously was a little wobbily but managed to recover quickly. Once he realized what just happened, he looked foreword again and whipped a leg out sideways to knock away his attacker.

"That left a dent, jackass!" Bender snapped, moving to aim one of the guns at Chester.

[Chester A Bum]

Chester was shocked he'd actually done damage to the robot he was unprepared for the kick that sent him backwards. He got back to his feet putting on a farce while a bit scared.

"That was the idea. Now you're going to get it." said Chester.

He charged at the robot again swinging his sword while hoping to defend himself against the robot.

Dr. Smith shocked as Harvey fired guns at him. He realized Marzgurl wasn't the only one gunning for him anymore. He reached into his pocket dropping a box that released a few metallic spiders that crawled towards the group of heroes as he noticed the bats had started to be defeated.

Tender Heart nodded.

"Care Bear Stare!" said Tender Heart.

He used his stare power aiming a blast at Dr. Smith.

Myotismon gasped as the attack barely hit him heading towards Dr. Smith. That attack was love and goodness. If enough of those creatures were around they might be trouble. He glanced at the rest of the group. They seemed alright with a sword but Harvey looked like an expert with that gun. Perhaps it was time to remove it.

"Time to lighten things up. Crimson Lightning!" said Myotismon.

He summoned a red energy whip tossing it at Harvey trying to hurt him or at least knock the gun away.

Linksano looked up seeing the attack unable to activate his shield in time. He realized how much Harvey meant to Linkara and he'd been a good friend to him. He had no one to count on his universe, and he wasn't going to lose the few people who did care about him here.

"Harvey! Look out!" said Linksano.

He shoved Harvey out of the way taking the full force of the attack as Linksano was thrown backwards by the force of the whip and flew down the hall and struck the wall near the stairs. He then landed on the ground before passing out dropping his laser to the ground.

"Linksano!" shouted Marzgurl.

She rushed over to him checking his pulse. She was relieved he was alright just unconscious.

She pressed a button on linksano's wrist teleporting him off to the med bay to keep him out of the fight before rejoining the others.

Dark Nella frowned at her reaction.

"You may be powerful and I won't deny you were one of my role models growing up. You're lucky Pinnochio's still alive that's the only reason you're still breathing. But that doesn't mean I can't fix that mistake and bring Pinocchio back tonight." said Dark Nella.

The two blasts collided as she could feel Maleficent trying to push her back as she did the same. She glanced over spying Linksano flung across the room.

"Humans are such fragile creatures. I do hope he makes it." said Dark Nella chuckling.

She doubted Maleficent would pay attention but even a second of hesitation or distraction might be all she needed in this struggle. If not she could always dodge the blast and let it scorch the wall. After all it wasn't her home.

Role model?

Maleficent blinked in surprise. She was a pariah where she came from, and the idea that anyone could be influenced in a positive manner by her was a strange one.

Nevertheless, this was war.

“I think you’ll find it near impossible to get Pinocchio back from where I’ve put him,” the fairy hissed, putting more power into her strike. Dark Nella’s comment caught her off guard, and on instinct, Maleficent thought to look in the direction she was.

No! That’s what she wants to do! Focus!

Gritting her teeth, Maleficent pushed back harder. Whoever it was, they would have to make due themselves for now.

Her plan backfired as Maleficent's words distracted her at the same time but their power struggle remained about even. She frowned. She knew she had to tune out her words and focus on taking the dark fairy out. She smirked before trying to hold the blast back with her left hand while forming a fireball in her right hand and throwing it at Maleficent and then tossing a few at the area around her. Maleficent would have to dodge or deflect it somehow giving her a better chance to attack Maleficent directly. Then she would find her son and make them all pay.

"I do love a good barbecue. I wish I'd remembered to bring marshmallows." said Dark Nella.

Goggles ran in as she smelled the smoke.

"Fire!" said Goggles.

She ran into the kitchen searching for a fire extinguisher or a bucket. She found a fire extinguisher and rushed out pulling the pin as she tried to put out the fire.
