(OCC: Aware of the very unoriginal title please ignore that. Anyway, this is for IHeart and Ma-Ti and this is the day right after he arrived and it's around the afternoon)
IHeart couldn't help but feel that maybe coming to the war was worth it afterall. She was with her allies, she was making new friends such as that cutie pie pup Patch and that lovely lady Rachel. However Ma-Ti's arrival made her realize just how exactly did she miss him? Well, sure a friend dying was painful but something from her grief just screamed something more. She honestly didn't know and it didn't help much that lilo was poking her about having a boyfriend.
Hopefully she didn't freak Ma-Ti out with her actions of kindness. Speaking of him... Where exactly was he anyway? She was sitting in the front porch bench so he probably was inside. IHeart facepalmed herself thinking of how dorky she probably was sitting on a bench
Ma-Ti walked out feeling a bit depressed. Chester had just told him Malachite was still alive and he had hurt Critic pretty badly. Ma-Ti had begun to feel guilty blaming himself for not properly finishing off Malachite. He didn't notice Iheart was there as he sat on the porch steps thinking out loud.
"I'm a fool. I didn't kill Malachite. He nearly killed Critic. He's my friend and I let him down. And my ring got stolen along with Chick and Morpheus so I don't even have that. Maybe I should just go before someone else gets hurt because of me." said Ma-Ti.
IHeart looked up and saw Ma-Ti there and apparently he was upset over Critic's injuries just as much as she was. The fact that he called himself a fool though for being dead was crossing her path of liking and so she decided to confront him about that. IHeart felt just as bad but blaming herself or anyone blaming themselves was not going to make the injuries go away nor help matters
"You're not a fool. Don't blame yourself. This isn't your fault. Somehow Malachite survived sure but that isn't because you defeated him... It's because probably of magic or something" IHeart replied comfortingly. She really wanted to help ma-ti feel better along with not blame himself over something
Ma-Ti looked up seeing Iheart as he listened to her. He shook his head.
"I always had the weakest power. The others could have done it. Or Captain Planet. I just had telepathy, before I found out about the power boost. And that didn't even stop him. Malachite nearly killed him. Chester told me how bad it was. If Nostalgia Chick, Cinema Snob, and Linkara hadn't gotten to him in time he'd have died. My ring wasn't strong enough. I wasn't strong enough." said Ma-Ti.
He paused considering magic as he remembered the gauntlet.
"Maybe you're right. Maybe the gauntlet saved him. But does he still have it? My ring was the only thing that stopped him last time and if they have both we're in trouble." said Ma-Ti.
"Ma-Ti! Don't say that!" IHeart snapped angerily, she refused to allow Ma-Ti to say such foolish things about himself like that. She continued on "Telepathy is like one of the greatest powers ever and your ring was the only thing that stopped Malachite from actually blowing Critic to oblivion! Remember when we all first met malachite, you risked your life and lost it to save us and it's been many months since we last heard of him, this is just a rough patch" IHeart was somewhat fuming and was in need to relax but she was offended at the fact Critic wasn't saved just because of ma-ti's ring being faulty
Then the subject of the gauntlet came and she calmed down to respond "We don't have the gauntlet but Roses told me that the villains didn't have it at the battle. It's probably lost somewhere" She sighed sadly "If anyone's useless here it's me. I haven't been in one single battle and already bad things are happening and I can't stop them"
"Telepathy can't stop someone from polluting or hurting your friends. Why couldn't I have gotten a cool power? Like Ice or lightning." said Ma-Ti.
He sighed as she mentioned the gauntlet's location was unknown.
"But if Malachite, my ring, and I survived surely Malachite's Hand did too. We can't let him get that back. Or he will be unstoppable and so will the army." said Ma-Ti.
IHeart put her head down in defeat, she didn't know what else to say. In a twisted way, Ma-Ti had a point. Ma-Ti's power wasn't the strongest thing since Hulk Hogan but to her she wanted to make him feel powerful enough not to say such despicable things about himself. Then about the gaunlet she replied "We got to find that thing... Somehow. Maybe Linksano's gadget doohickeys can help?"
"Malachite searched for that gauntlet for years before Jaffers found it and hid it. He's had like five or six months to search for it while we thought he and the gauntlet were gone.. If he had found it we'd all be dead or enslaved by now. So where is it?" said Ma-Ti.
He nodded to her suggestion about Linksano.
"Maybe he can. But if he can then so could Dr. Insano. We better find the gauntlet before they do. With the gauntlet they might even be able to....
He paused and looked around worriedly not seeing anyone else around.
"Take out Maleficent. She and Queen Grimhilde are villains. They may be joined with us now but if they wanted they could steal the gauntlet and wipe out both armies and then take over. Anyone could with that gauntlet." whispered Ma-Ti.
"I don't think we should trust them myself but Critic said Maleficent wants revenge on Ask Thatguy too" IHeart shivered. She was more afraid of the villain army than she could handle. Ma-Ti was admittedly making her worried but honestly she didn't care about her worries, she cared about the enemy. She looked to him and replied "You coming back is more than we could ask for though. We always needed more allies"
"Well this is the first time Maleficent's teamed up with the good guys. I guess we're the better choice for her. I just hope we can find a way to send everyone back before they get the idea to betray us. They are villains after all." said Ma-Ti.
When he saw her shiver he pulled her into a hug trying to calm her down.
"It'll be alright. We'll stop them. We've got one of the most powerful Disney characters on our side along with Critic and everyone else. We'll stop them and get back Chick and Morpheus." said Ma-Ti.
He smiled weakly when he heard she was glad he was back.
"I'm glad to be back. I'm sorry I put you through all of that." said Ma-Ti.
He glanced down at his empty hand where his ring should have been and his eyes widen in shock and fear as a sudden realization hits him. He'd been stuck here for years and his friends had been without his ring, without Captain Planet. They could be dead, and his word could be polluted. He'd hid behind his anger and practically forgotten about them making new friends with Critic and Iheart, and the others. But he'd been chosen to be a Planeteer and he'd abandoned his world, and his friends. He should have looked harder for a way home. He suddenly broke down in tears turning away from Iheart not wanting to upset her again.
"I failed them. Kwame, Wheeler, Linka, Gi, Souchi, Gaia... I'm sorry. I should have found a way back home to help you. Now I may not have a home to go back to." he whispered thinking out loud.
At first Ma-Ti hugging her was shocking but then she quickly warmed up to it and allowed his arms to surround her. She only listened and nodded in both understanding and sorrow. Ma-Ti probably was kicking himself only because he felt pathetic, he had no idea what inspirations she felt for him. She felt even worse when he was crying and even felt ashamed when he felt the need to not look at her, for fear of looking pathetic. He confessed to "failing" his team and the planet of his world. For all he knew they were dead. It hit her like a brick too
Due to herself being emotional, she was fully understanding of Ma-Ti's fear. She wanted to comfort him, to just be there when he fell, to just let him know someone knew his pain. So she took Ma-Ti near her face and allowed him to cry on her shoulder, if he wanted to let it out, she was giving the implimation she would allow him. She hugged him and only offered soft, gentle, motherly sorry's, it'll be ok's and you're not alone's
When Iheart hugged him and comforted him he felt bad for upsetting her.
"People keep dying and I can't save them. My parents died when was about 5 years old. They tried to stop people from cutting down the forest. I was staying with my village's elder but when I saw what happened I found my home burned to the ground. And there was no sign of my parents. Now the other Planeteers are dead or captured thanks to me being stuck here. Maybe I should go before I screw up someone else's life too." said Ma-Ti.
He stood up and began slowly walking to the porch steps. His mind was arguing with itself. He didn't want anyone else to suffer because of him but he wanted to help stop the war. Maybe he was only kidding himself. Without his ring he was useless.
"That's it. If I can get my ring back I can make sure no one else dies because of me." thought Ma-Ti.
"No!" IHeart litterally stood in front of him. No way, she thought, she would NOT let him leave her sight this time. Now wasn't the time to go off and do something by yourself. IHeart litterally knew this was the moment to convince Ma-Ti how much she wanted him to stay. How much she cared for him. He had to know
"You can't leave. You may think you're the problem but you're not! All these things are is called fate. Fate cannot be stopped not by you, not by critic, not by me!" She felt the wetness in her eyes but she didn't care. He needed to know
"If you think the damn ring matters more than YOU do, you sir need to learn something!" She snapped, feeling the emotions pouring out more "Allies are more important than you can ever get and if you left think about how Critic would feel!" She was now getting mad but she didn't care "He needs you! We all need you!" She began to cover her face trying to relax but now going overboard and having a breakdown
Ma-Ti turned expecting her to say something but seeing her cry made him feel even worse. And he knew they all suffered because of his death. Maybe Iheart was right and leaving would just make it even worse. He stopped hearing her last worlds. He walked back to her and hugged her again. He hated to see her cry.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset. After I came back I realized I didn't want to die again and leave everyone behind. I need you and Critic and everyone else. I just don't want to lose anyone else because of me. But the ring was all I had. To remind me of my old home, my safety net. I've had that ring for so long, been a planeteer for years. What if I don't get it back? How can I protect you without it?" said Ma-Ti.
He paused realizing what he said and blushed luckily most of it was hidden by his skin color.
"How can I protect anyone without it?" said Ma-Ti.
IHeart just allowed Ma-Ti to speak. She said what she wanted to say. He then spoke about the ring and realized it meant more than that to him. He then took his hand and replied softly "We'll get it back. If it means home to you then we'll get that ring back. Just stay here" She then came closer to him. Without the voice in her head telling her not to. She spoke again "Just... I want you to stay. We need you just as much as you need us. Or at least I do"
