[That Chick With The Goggles]

(January 13th. Mid-morning. Closed to Goggles and Spoony.)

Goggles walked through the house looking for Spoony. She checked the medical bay first glad he wasn't hurt. After searching a few rooms she'd given up and sat down in the living room listening to her Ipod. She'd talk to him when she saw him next. She just hoped it was soon. She was still angry he hadn't stayed in contact with her and she was falling for another guy. Black Lantern Spoony had reminded her of what she missed the most about Spoony and she had almost gone with him if Nani hadn't pulled her away. She changed her ipod to a new song wanting to forget her conflicting feelings even for just a few minutes.

[Spoony]

Spoony was pissed at Black Lantern Spoony.

No actually he was jealous. Jealous that he had the ability to take Goggles as his own before he ever could. Jealous that he got to make a convincing and even loving accomplice. Jealous about the kiss they claimed to have shared. The more goggles was here, the more conflicted and wanting he was. Like Goggles, he wanted to tell her how he really felt. He was admittedly starstruck but he never told anyone, not even Linkara, who admittedly would always be there for him even if he fell. Spoony thought about all this as he stared into the bathroom mirror. He looked at himself then thought determinedly

You got to tell her. Just find her and tell her. It won't be that hard

Heh. There was the hidden down naivetivity he always had. If she hated him fine, but he would indeed tell her. So with a deep breath he went downstairs and found Goggles, listening to her IPod. He took yet another deep breath then tapped her on the shoulder calmly

Goggles felt someone tap her on her shoulder. She sighed pulling off her headphones and stopping her Ipod.

"Alright. What's so important that you need to..."

She stopped turning around as she saw Spoony.

"Spoony. I..."

She paused before frowning. He had left her, didn't even stay in contact and now they had to work together practically 24/7 to fight Ask That Guy's army. Maybe she shouldn't have come. Seeing him again was bad enough but if he rejected her again, she wasn't sure if she could handle it. She stood up and folded her arms still glaring at him.

"Why didn't you call me? Or email me? I thought we had something special or was I just imagining things?" said Goggles.

Spoony took the questions in. He had to in order to explain himself. How the hell was he supposed to tell her how he felt when he didn't even explain why he didn't call? Spoony honestly thought he could but he had rough reception and many fans were badgering him into a specific depression. He would convince her he cared, he just had to do it quickly and easily

"No. We had something special. I tried to call you, but somehow things got in my way. I've used my phone never worked and the times I wanted to try again I was attacked by Insano and other crazy ass people" Spoony said this in a defensive fashion then he spoke again in a more guilty tone "I'm not saying you should excuse me because of life was in my way. I'm saying that I did care and tried. I really did. Life I guess wanted to screw around with me but I swear I never wanted to make you be left in the dust"

Spoony rubbed his eyes and breathed, he didn't expect this to go easy. He wanted her to understand though, it would take a while but he wanted her to know he cared but first he wanted her to know that that night wasn't just a one night stand.... Actually it was but it lingered on him more than he could want. Hey if a one night stand caused you to try calling said chick you screwed with, you know it was more than that

Goggles listened to him as he talked about his phone problems, fighting Dr. Insano and other creeps, and life being in the way. She wanted to believe him but he'd stayed in contact with half of the people who'd shown up here and probably more.

"So your phone wasn't working and you couldn't have sent me letters or emails? You could have even come to my town and met me in person? But you didn't. Instead, you stayed in touch with the others making crossovers and anniversaries. You stayed in touch with her." said Goggles.

She couldn't help it but she was jealous of Spoony and Nostalgia Chick's friendship. Even if nothing was going on between them he'd stayed in contact with her after that night. At least seeing each other at anniversaries and cons. She paused glancing at the ground.

"Is there something going on between you and Nostalgia Chick? Or was there?" she asked.

[Spoony]

Spoony paused. He did have contact with her but it was far from pleasurable for Spoony. He quickly explained himself mostly because the answer was easy to say "Well, Chick was less accepting over... what happened and harrassed me through calls and threatened to sue me. I only called her back to 'apoligize' if you will and Critic, before the war, tricked me twice to go to molossia and also dress up like gandalf"

Spoony resorted to a demeanor where he understood goggles. Really, he did. Normally he would defend himself and even point out plotholes to the other person's behavior and logic, but Goggles was someone he actually never meant to hurt. Spoony hoped she believed him, for Chick did harrass him many times.

Then the issue about meeting her in person came up. He then said with a pain in his voice "I honestly asked if anyone knew where you were. I couldn't find the place you lived or the school you went to. I tried to call you about it but again, phone got dead and my computer during last year got so many viruses I needed a new one, and that one took like a week to get. Besides, Arizona is a dry place, home of bad reception"

Goggles listened shocked at Chick's behavior at first but understood it. She hadn't really been that happy the next morning anyway. She nodded.

"He called me about Molossia too and I wished I could have come. It looked like fun. Well aside from Critic going insane and..."

She trailed off not wanting to mention him being Dr. Insano again. It probably wasn't a pleasant memory and she didn't want to bring it up again. She frowned realizing the holes in her angry as she listened to him. She hadn't given out her address accept to Blip and Critic when she was reviewing. She guessed Critic might have misplaced or lost her address. And phone and computer problems on top of it. He sounded like he really tried which did make her happy she wasn't just a one night stand.

"You really tried?" asked Goggles.

Tears she'd been holding back went down her cheeks as she wiped them away. She'd been holding back so many emotions. Anger, sadness, love.... and she'd only started to let go last night when she'd kissed Spoony. No his doppelganger from another universe. She felt guilty for doing that and not listening to 90's Kid that he was an imposter. She looked away from Spoony feeling awful for kissing the wrong Spoony.

"I'm sorry. I tried calling you once but I didn't get through. So I told myself you'd call and when you didn't I blamed you. But I should have tried harder to reach you. And now last night..."

She trailed off not wanting to finish it. Spoony had probably heard by now from Critic or one of the others.

"I'm sorry it wasn't you." whispered Goggles.

Spoony made a very slight hiss at the mention of Critic going insane. He remembered molossia, all too well. Giving into the madness as relieving as it was, it still scarred him. A lot. The worst part was only one person gave a damn about it for so long... And that was himself. It was a harsh time back then, Spoony would've never wanted to go back. In fact he hasn't really forgiven critic about the whole thing to be honest

Then Goggles began to tear up. Spoony's heart dropped and warmed up three times that very moment. Goggles felt ashamed, it wasn't her fault spoony said to himself, black lantern spoony tricked her. Manipulated her. Lied to her. He wasn't angry at her, he was annoyed with the fact she was tricked that way but he understood. Then she whispered something that made all the difference, he couldn't help but do what his heart was screaming him to do. For now though he would play it smoothly

Spoony went over to her closely and put his fingers over her chin and gently made her look at his hazel eyes. He replied gently "You didn't know. You were angry at me. I understand. It made have not been me at that moment but you know what, you being here and not with him means more" Spoony then remembered her last question and replied "Of course I tried. I may be a asshole but at least I know how to treat a wonderful woman"

"90's Kid warned me. But he acted like you, said all the right things.... I kissed him. I thought he was you and he let me believe it. He played me." said Goggles.

She looked down feeling awful. She heard his words as he tried to cheer her up. She smiled weakly and let out a laugh. She then looked up and him smiling again still feeling guilty about that kiss.

"Where does that leave us? Can you forgive me for last night and try again with me?" asked Goggles.

[Spoony]

Spoony gave a gentle smile and put one of his free hands around her back. This was it. He had to take a shot in the dark. Sure, it seemed pointless but Spoony was a man who have dealt with doing stupid and pointless things before. He then replied smoothly, with a hint of a person trying to make of someone feel better "It leaves us where we should start all over. I've already forgiven you, he manipulated you and I wasn't there to explain things" He then replied getting closer to her face "I've always been a man who liked to do things over" With that he took another risky move and kissed her, he also had his eyes completely close at the kiss

Goggles smiled in relief glad they could have another chance. Her guilt at kissing the wrong man last night had left her. Spoony then completely took her by surprise as he kissed her. She returned it happily before pulling back.

"I missed you. At least there's one good thing about this stupid war. We found each other again." said Goggles.

[Spoony]

Spoony only allowed the kiss to last for a short period of time but it was meaningful. After a while Goggles pulled away but Spoony allowed it, he felt he got his point across. He gave a smile, maybe the war WAS helpful. It did at least give spoony back what he cared about. He replied calmly and almost without breath "I missed you too. It's been a long time"

He couldn't say anything else. He just smiled, smiled wider than he did in a long period of time

Goggles smiled back at him funny as she remembered their first date at a bar. They'd gotten drunk and it hadn't really felt like a real date. She wasn't sure if he was busy enough to go on a date so maybe she'd drop a hint to ask her. She smiled at him.

"Our last date was so long ago. It feels like forever. Maybe we should go on another one soon." said Goggles.

[Spoony]

Spoony kept his smile, very quickly catching Goggles game. He spoke slyly with a intentionally charming grin "What about now? There's plenty of time. Besides, we're big. We don't need Critic's permission" Spoony hoped he didn't sound like a jerk but he wanted to make her amused with him. Now was the time to get jokey? Bah. He was mentally hitting himself with what he just said

"I'd like that. I've got my communicator from Linksano so should we go out? I doubt they'd attack us in public but we can always call for help if we need it. Or should we stay here?" asked Goggles.

She'd love to get out of here for a bit after spending cooped up in here when she wasn't training. But the risk of being attacked was high.
