To The Rescue

[Elisa/Maven Of The Eventide]

(January 21. Set during Battle Of The Ages. Rescue thread. Really suck at title names. xd.)

Mechakara beamed back in this room seeing people beginning to leave. He was not going to lose his pet after taking so much trouble in capturing it. Not without a fight at least. He pressed a button sending out a signal to recall villains.

Fat Cat and Scar walked in seeing Mechakara.

"I thought there was a battle going on?" he asked.

"Some of them are going to try another rescue attempt. They're separated this time but we cant be too careful." said Mechakara.

Fat Cat excused himself deciding to get some weapons not wanting to end up hurt or worse.

Elisa, Chester, and Nani walked into the house. Nani and Chester followed Snob's group to look for Morpheus. Elisa joined her group to find Nostalgia Chick. They all hoped they found them alright.

Dark Nella heard Mechakara's signal as she stood in Insano's lab guarding Nostalgia Chick. She hadn't joined the battle just in case someone pulled something like this.

Nostalgia Chick sat imprisoned in an electronic cell. Without her voice she couldn't even call for help and the way Dark Nella was acting she guessed it was another rescue attempt. Hopefully they found her in time.

Duke Nukem teleported in annoyed at being called back. Hopefully some of them would come and he'd have some fun today.

[Cinema Snob]

(OCC: I assume I can post as Morpheus and Patch as well?)

Patch was awaiting boredly at his little closet. He was asleep then suddenly he heard Mechakara's voice and woke up assuming it was that time where he was forced to entertain him. However he was telling the people that some heroes have come to rescue him. Patch brightened up at first but then realized with mechakara's power he probably would see them fail to try. He went back to sleep in sadness

Morpheus breathed heavily due to also being asleep but then Duke Nukem arrived and it awoke him up. He then noticed some noise about people coming to rescue him. He couldn't help but smile and think Nani's come to help me. Thank god

"Alright guys. Be quiet" Snob replied to his co-team mates. He then snuck carefully searching high and low until he then decided "Alright guys. Let's try the basement" He then went down there slowly

"Paw dude. Elisa. You guys still near me?" 90's kid asked as he was part of the team for NChick's search party. Quickly he grabbed the gun and turned to find the other members

[Elisa/Maven Of The Eventide]

(ooc: Sure. Go ahead.)

Chester and Nani nodded as they followed Snob into the basement.

"Maybe we should check the cell Paw found last time? Maybe they didn't move them." said Chester.

"We should be quiet just in case. If some of those villains stayed behind or some saw us leave and came back." said Nani.

Suddenly the stairs turned flat as Chester and Nani slid down the stairs landing at the bottom of the stairs.

"Looks like they booby trapped the stairs. We better watch out for more traps." said Nani.

Chester looked around a bit nervously and Nani did as well as they kept going.

Elisa held her staff as she followed 90's Kid.

"I'm here. I hope we find her soon. But Dark Nella wasn't at the battle. Which means she might be guarding Nostalgia Chick. I don't think we can hurt her but try not to kill her. She's possessed right now like Goggles. Nella's still in there somewhere and I'd like to get Nella and Chick back if we can." said Elisa.

[Cinema Snob]

Morpheus heard Snob's voice, then nani's, then chester's and the others. He wanted to call to them but it would not help. He smiled though. He knew they'd find him and rescue him. He just knew it. He breathed praying it would be successful this time

Snob nodded and sneaked to the booby trapped stairs. He almost set one off but he took his foot and put it on a different step. He then eventually got down and said "OK Morpheus probably will be tortured the most so he'll have to be in a dirty setting. So look over at this wall guys" He then carefully observed it

Patch meanwhile tried to sleep but felt he couldn't now he heard mechakara's robotic tone. He really wanted to get whatever mechakara wanted over with. The pressure was getting to the pup. He knew better though then to try and find mechakara leaving the closet. It was rude and disrespectful, and patch knew better than that

90's kid nodded "Let's try upstairs guys. If not there we'll look around here" 90's kid then went right upstairs to see if anything was up

[Chester A Bum]

Duke Nukem chuckled as he heard voices.

"Well well. Looks like there's a rescue party. Now I can get some action today after all." said Duke Nukem.

He turned glancing at Morpheus.

"I hope you don't think they're going to rescue you. They failed last time. And they'll fail again. Maybe this time we'll have more pals we can stuff next to you. That is before we kill them too." said Duke Nukem laughing.

He knew Chick and Patch weren't dead but he'd seen the tape and knew how broken Morpheus had been at two deaths. Could he stand losing someone else?

Nani nodded as she began looking along the basement. She stopped seeing a bar filled with wine and beer on the walls.

"Ask That Guy's a drinker? This explains so much." said Nani.

She kept walking searching for a sign of Morpheus.

"We got to hurry before we end up in a cell with him." said Nani.

"Oh come on. It's not like I'm going to pull back this candle and the wall will open up behind me." said Chester.

As he talks he pulls the candle and the wall opens up behind him.

"It opened up behind me didn't it." said Chester.

"Let's go." said Nani running through the secret passage.

"Right behind ya." said Chester chasing after her.

"Well Patch it looks like someone thinks they can rescue you. Well they've made a grave error. I'm afraid I can't have them find you." said Mechakara.

He turns to Patch.

"You be quiet and I won't kill you along with them." said Mechakara.

Mechakara pressed a button teleporting several boxes, blankets, and things to make the closet look like a storage space instead of a room for a pet. No one would think to look for Patch in here. He then smirked as he waited for someone to arrive. He hoped Linkara was part of the search party.

Elisa nodded following 90's Kid upstairs.

"I hope we find Chick soon. Before more of those goons show up and stop us." said Elisa.

[Patch]

Morpheus frowned, saying nothing. He looked hoping the people who've come to find him would indeed succeed this time. Looking around to see where they were coming he turned to Duke Nukem and replied "There's always hope. I'm going to get out of here somehow or someday. They'll get me out" He then hissed in memory of poor chick and patch's deaths and immediately shut up

Snob nodded "Nice work you two" He then turned to see and hope Harvey and Ace were with him "Ace, Harvey. Let's do this" He then quickly went inside with the rest of the team, carrying his weapon

"No worries babe. We'll like totally get her back" He then saw a door that said "Insano's lab". Ever so curious he replied "Cool! Guys! Wonder if she's in here?" He then opened it without Elisa or Paw trying to stop him

Patch let out a nod in fear. He probably was way more doubtful than Morpheus and was more afraid. Suddenly he saw all the boxes and blankets cover his space and he thought to himself Great. This closet was small enough already. Now I can barely breathe He then laid down and then tried to sleep, forgetting the nightmare he felt he was forever in

It was with great effort that Maleficent landed next to Ask ThatGuy’s headquarters – dragons were known more for their power than their stealth, after all. From there, she changed back into her natural form and hurriedly followed Cinema Snob and the others down to the basement.

The internal shiver that had first appeared at the battle had returned, causing excitement to race through the dark fairy’s veins. Things were going to be different this time around. She wasn’t leaving until she had Patch, no matter what the cost. She would not lose her pet again.

Deciding her will-o’-the-wisp form would be the more appropriate choice for skulking around, Maleficent shape-shifted once more and started down a hallway, expecting Linkara to follow her.

[Linkara]

Linkara silently groaned as he staggered of behind Maleficent's robes. Never again, he promised himself in his mind "Right well then. Let's.. let's go in. Subtley." He was also trying not to whimper at Maleficent, he had to assert his authority.

Ace and Harvey nodded "Come on Ace, let's kick these guys so far up their asses that they'll bleed." Drawing his gun, he followed the Snob. Ace grinned also, and drew a blaster. She patted her Nitro Nine by the side of her.

Paw had been quiet for some time, looking so utterly nervous which was strange. After following 90's Kid and Eliza, he hesitated and tapped Eliza on the back "I.. I'll be no use to you, I'll keep watch or something."

Linkara’s footsteps echoed faintly down the otherwise silent hallway behind Maleficent as the two made their way through the House of Doom. When he spoke to her, she could detect the faintest of tremors in his voice and rolled her nonexistent eyes. Clearly she was going to have to be the mature one here.

She stopped in front a simple-looking door and became a dark fairy once more. Turning around to face Linkara, Maleficent’s gold eyes narrowed.

“Stop that sniveling,” she hissed. “Are you a man or a mouse?”

Her pale green hand curled around the doorknob and prepared to turn.

“Now, then. On the count of three. One, two…”

"THREE!!" Linkara, stung by Maleficent's comments, barged through the door as quietly as one can barge, and started to take note of the building. "You know, sometimes, I think I should have been a green grocer." he muttered under his breath, and started towards the basement.

Elisa turned to Paw with a frown.

"Of course you'll be useful. You helped find the cage last time. We need all the help we can get. No one blames you for what happened. Linkara, Iron Liz, and the others have thrown everything the had him and he still keeps coming back. He's like a cat. He must have nine lives or something." said Elisa.

"I think it 's time to go greet our guests." said Duke Nukem.

He walked out the door and deeper into the house and finally heard voices. He smirked and walked closer to the sounds.

Nani and Chester were followed Snob.

"He's probably guarded. Hopefully not by too many of them." whispered Nani.

"How much is too many?" said Chester.

"Just one for you." said Duke Nukem.

"Ahh! A monster!" said Chester.

He fired his Blade Blaster at him. It just reflected off him.

"You think you can defeat me with that puny toy? Time to have some fun." said Duke Nukem.

Nani gasped horrified at the yellow monster.

"Stay back." said Nani holding her sword up to defend herself.

Mechakara walked over to his computer activating the security camera. It showed three different cameras picking up movement. The first showed Duke Nukem attacking Nani, Chester, and Snob. Another one picked up 90's Kid, Paw, and Elisa walking around upstairs. The third showed Maleficent and Linkara walking around. He smirked turning off his computer.

"Linkara. Excellent. I won't kill you just yet. After everything you've put me through you deserve to suffer." said Mechakara.

He walked over to the closet knowing Patch is in there.

"Not one word out of you." said Mechakara, closing the door.

He then chuckled as he walked out of the room searching for Maleficent and Linkara.

[Cinema Snob]

Patch breathed the fresh air but regretfully nodded. Then the darkness surrounded him and he just covered his eyes in fear hoping this chaotic nightmare he was enduring. He felt the same feelings he had when he was first captured. He didn't know whether he was escaping or staying. Either one though he would be ok with. He then thought in his head

Maleficent. Whereever you are. Please find me

Snob replied "Shh! We can't let hi-----" Turning he realized he finally found the prison and smiled but then realized Duke Nukem was guarding. Shit. They were in trouble. He aimed his blaster and blasted at Duke, not letting any fear get past the fact they needed to fight. "Let's do this guys! Attack!" He then charged expecting his four other members to follow

Morpheus shouted the minute his rescue team came "Friends! Hurry! Watch yourselves! He's very armed!" Morpheus shaked the cell trying to get out but he then remembered he couldn't do so

"Dude. We totally need you! It's not like a magical lady comes up and blasts the wall!" 90's kid said idiotically while grinning like a idiot again. He was in dumbass mode again mostly because he got to do some action now

(OCC: Would love it if Dark Nella just blasted the wall next to the three. Comedy moments like that make me laugh)

[Dark Nella/Nella Black]

Duke Nukem chuckled as he fired at the group.

"I do hope you weren't expecting this rescue to work. It'll fail just like last time." said Duke Nukem.

Nani frowned as she dodged his blast.

"I'll try to get him free. You guys try to hold him off?" said Nani.

She took off into the room rushing over to the cell.

"Morpheus. It's really you." said Nani.

She smiled and glanced at the panel with a frown.

"Do you know the combination?" asked Nani.

Chester nodded as Nani went off to try to free Morpheus. He held his sword high charging at Duke Nukem.

"You're not so tough." said Chester.

He swung his sword at his back and it just broke in half. Chester gasped in shock dropping the broken sword looking for something else to use.

"Take it easy." said Chester.

Duke Nukem looked over to Chester having felt the sword break.

"That tickled. What else you got?" said Duke Nukem laughing.

A blast of green electricity struck the wall in front of them as it exploded. Dark Nella smiled glancing through the broken wall.

"Were you looking for me? Allow me to help you out." said Dark Nella walking forward.

Elisa flinched as the wall exploded and her eyes widened as Dark Nella walked out.

"Come on Nella. We're friends right?" said Elisa.

Dark Nella smirked at Elisa.

"Friends? Hardly. You used me as much as she did. I nearly came back in the Gem review but the Makeover Fairy and Chick stopped my return. Now I'm back for good." said Dark Nella.

Elisa began backing away looking for a way out or a stronger weapon.

"Well I just love the way you've decorated the place. But we must be going." said Elisa.

"But you just got here. We should catch up!" said Dark Nella.

She conjures a net that falls on top of Elisa forcing her to drop her sword. Elisa struggles to get out of the net as Dark Nella turns her attention on 90's Kid and Paw.

"Don't think I forgot about you two. Hold still and this won't hurt a bit." said Dark Nella.

She sends a blast of green electricity at both of them.

Mechakara keeps walking searching for Linkara and Maleficent.

"Linkara. Don't you want to come out and play? I promise we'll have lots of fun." said Mechakara chuckling.

[Cinema Snob]

Morpheus stared at Nani, he shouldn't of been thinking this but she looked just as wonderful and beautiful as he last saw her. He couldn't help but smile when he saw her "I am still here. I am so pleased to see a wonderful face" He then sighed sadly looking at the lock and shaking his head "I'm afraid not. You'll have to ask Duke Nukem or make him tell you"

Snob sneered "Oh hell no. This time we have a better backup plan. Also, more people. We'll win this time!" Snob then got his gun again and charged even closer to Duke Nukem. He turned to Chester snapping "Watch your back Chester!"

90's kid frowned shocked "I stand myself corrected. I think I need to change my pants" He then backed up alongside Elisa saying "Uh. We're cool right?" He then cried in fear as green electricity and he ran far away before realizing Chick was still in danger. He then gave a bravehearted look and replied to paw without looking at him "Cover the back bro. I'mma do something badass for once" With that he got his packer gun and charged

Linkara didn’t answer her semi-rhetorical question, but he did break the door down. Still holding onto the knob, Maleficent nearly tumbled down the stairs. She glared at the comic reviewer.

“You realize we could have just opened it – never mind.”

The door she’d selected led to the basement. The fairy didn’t mind this setting very much, although Linkara seemed to be growing nervous once more. She chose not to say anything this time around, merely continuing her search for Patch. She would have plenty of time to mock him once the Dalmatian puppy was found.

Seemingly from out of nowhere, a voice echoed down the hallway and into the basement.

“Linkara. Don’t you want to come out and play? I promise we’ll have lots of fun.”

Maleficent froze. She recognized that voice. It was the voice from the videotape, the one that had claimed responsibility for supposedly killing Patch.

Mechakara. And the basement door had been left wide open, unintentionally revealing their location. Yet Maleficent found herself anticipating this confrontation. The robot would be made to pay for what he had done. She would see to that.

“Linkara.” The dark fairy’s voice was strangely calm. “Prepare to fight.”
