Afraid To Be Alone (Open)

[Goofy Goof]

(July 5th. Morning.)

Goofy stumbled onto the house. He knocked on the door only for it to creak open.

"Is this one of those haunted houses?" asked Goofy.

He paused shaking his head.

"I have to find them. Maxie! Sylvia! Mickey! Pete! Willie!... Anybody?" said Goofy.

As he walked around he heard a voice shout WHO?

"What do you mean Who? I just called their names." said Goofy.

As he spoke suddenly he heard fluttering of wings as an owl flew out of a corner and out an open window as Goofy slammed it shut.

"How did he get in here?" asked Goofy.

He walked around looking for a sign of anybody being here. He opened a door looking for a light switch only to crash as he slipped down the stairs.

"AAAH HOO HOO HOOEY!" shouted Goofy as he fell down to the basement floor with a loud crash.

Willie was walking downstairs hearing a familiar scream and a crash.

"It can't be. Goofy?" said Willie.

He walked towards the basement door but frowned not seeing a light.

"Hello? Anyone down there!" said Willie.

Leo ran downstairs sword drown, confused.

"What's wrong? Are we under attack!" said Leo.

He paused at Basil's explanation.

"It's Leo." said Basil.

Basil walked down next hearing the commotion. He took one look at the scene and shook his head.

"No attack here dear Theo. Someone very clumsily fell down the stairs. I'm afraid someone forgot to change the lights." said Basil.

AT Leonardo's correction Basil shrugged.

"Whatever." said Basil.

[Max Goof]

(OCC: Will introduce Sylvia later. Want a moment between max, mickey and goofy before she enters the fray. Hope you don't mind max and mickey boldly going down the steps regardless of lights)

Max was spending some time with Leonardo and Donatello and willie when he heard the crashes himself. Seeing willie, leo and Donny all rush forward Max however was shocked because he remembered that loud cry from anywhere. It couldn't be. Could it? It sounded EXACTLY like his father. On one hand, max was horrified due to the dangers of the war and max was somewhat worried for his father. He knew his father could fight due to his past but he also knew goofy was, well, goofy and these fighters from other armies would tear him apart. On the other hand, he was absolutely joyful that his father was here. Now he had his family. Having his boyfriend and friends was wonderful but having family was also important to max.

With shock and joy he asked aloud "Dad?" He rushed not long after and while everyone was waiting on top of the basement he heard ruffling downstairs and he could have sworn his saw his father underneath the basement covered in slight rubble due to the mess he made. He cried aloud "Dad!" He rushed downstairs, unconcerned about any danger and rushed towards his father. He didn't care that he might be hurt or not. He had to see and hug his father. He hugged goofy tight and replied joyfully "Dad! You're here! You're alive! You're.." He then, finally, realized he was disheveled from the fall and asked finally "You're not hurt are you?"

Mickey, also, heard the noise and also remembered that loud cry. He rushed immediately and noticed a small group form. He replied to willie "Willie, was that goofy I heard?" He then turned and saw max rush down and he replied "Max, hold on, wait up!" And he followed the young man downstairs, wanting to make sure the boy wasn't rushing into things and he also saw goofy. He smiled ear to ear, absolutely overjoyed to see his friend. He had seen goofy many times in the past but ever since max was in high school visits were less due to goofy needing to help max get a higher education. But now that his friend was here mickey was beside himself with relief "Hot dog! I can't believe it!" He then went over and replied "Goofy, I'm so glad to see you pal!"

"What the shell just happened?" Donny rushed down alongside willie as he went to go to the lights and annoyedly replied "I knew I was forgetting to fix something" He then turned to the kitchen and turned on the lights from there, making sure to get to fixing the rest of the lights later. He then turned to basil and was about to correct him when leo did it for him. He rolled his eyes. He promised splinter to be more patient with basil and the name thing but it sometimes annoyed him. But he would not say anything about that. He then saw max and mickey go downstairs and asked leo "Hey isn't goofy max's dad?" He then turned to see max and mickey converse with the person down there "Everyone okay down there?" He asked

"Did someone say attack? Fear not friends I..." Roman charged, sword in hand but was bummed out when basil denied a attack. But rather a accident involving the basement "I got woken up for that? Come on guys, I'm a prince! Princes are supposed to do heroic things!" Roman then heard max and mickey talk and replied "Can someone please tell me what's actually going on then? Is everyone okay or what?"

[Goofy Goof]

Goofy heard voices some were unfamiliar. But he heard Wilie and Mickey among the voices and then Max. He got to his knees before wrapping Max into a hug. Perhaps he held him too tightly but there was a small part of him that was afraid Max might disappear again.

"When people start disappearing I was concerned. But when you disappeared I thought I'd never see you again. It was hard enough losing... her." said Goofy.

Even after this time his wife's death still hurt. He moved on with Sylvia and thought he'd put him behind him. But losing Max had just brought all those feelings back.

"I'm okay Maxie. I'm not hurt. I'm just glad you're okay." said Goofy.

He paused letting go glancing at Max worriedly.

"You are ok right?!" said Goofy.

He paused realizing he saw Mickey. Someone he hadn't seen in awhile and hugged his old friend.

"Hiya Mickey. Been too long." said Goofy.

Suddenly they were upstairs as he blinked confused before seeing Willie in the crowd.

"Hey Willie. Good to see you!" said Goofy.

He paused looking around.

"Hi everybody. I'm Goofy, Max's father." said Goofy.

Willie grinned seeing some of the others arrive especially Donny. He smiled shyly as he saw him.

"I think it's an old friend Goofy. Max and Mickey went down to check." said Willie.

He paused hearing the voices come up from the basement and grinned.

"It is Goofy!" said Willie.

He snapped his fingers excited teleporting the trio upstairs before realizing he should have asked first.

"Ooops. Sorry. Hope I didn't scare you." said Willie.

Leo grinned seeing Donny arrive before freezing at Donny's words.

"Max's father?" asked Leo, nervously.

He wanted to make a good impression but he had no idea what to say or do. Then suddenly Willie had teleported them upstairs as he found himself speechless unable to say anything and just waved.

Basil smiled as he heard part of the reunion and Willie brought them upstairs.

"What a neat trick. How did he do that? A trap door?" asked Basil, curious.

He paused at his words and chuckled.

"I thought it was the princesses that were supposed to sleep and the princes were supposed to save them." said Basil, teasing Roman a little.

(OCC: Hope you don't mind mickey unintentionally kind of rudely drops the ball. Thought it'd be hilarious)

Max smiled as goofy hugged him in return, absolutely relieved to see him. He then frowned a bit as goofy confessed that he was terrified of losing him due to his mother. Max's heart broke a little at hearing that. He had heard constantly about how sweet and kind his mother was, and had very little memories himself about her. When he was younger, he had often dreamed about her. But as the years went on he was more accepting about it than his dad. Regardless, he kept his mouth shut about acceptance because he respected goofy's pain more than his own. He smiled as mickey mentioned goofy and max looked so the same he sometimes had to take a double take. He then replied softly, to assure his father "Don't worry dad. I'm not going anywhere. At least I didn't mean to go anywhere. We just got pulled by some nutty scientist it's a long story"

He then chuckled a bit as goofy immediately drew his attention to him but nodded "Yeah dad. I'm okay. Promise. You can check if ya want" He was somewhat sarcastic, but he wouldn't exactly mind if goofy did it. He was too thrilled to see his dad to care. He then, without warning, got teleported and saw the turtles, willie, basil and roman all there. It was then max's joy began to subside with his logic. Goofy would have to know he was dating again eventually and he could see that Leonardo was understandably nervous. He was when he met splinter. Max turned to willie and laughed "Ah, it's all good willie" He then turned to leo and gave him a assuring wink and thumbs up mouthing to leo 'You'll be okay. I promise' He then turned to Donny and whispered to him "Help leo out"

He then paled as mickey announced everyone, including Leonardo. It seemed that mickey didn't remember that his father had tendencies to be protective of him. Sure, he had a feeling his dad would be nice, or understanding, but that didn't mean goofy wouldn't ask questions. He replied annoyed "Uncle mickey! I was gonna tell him!" He then blushed to goofy and replied "Dad. I know this is a lot to take in. Like all this is a lot to take in. I promise I'll help you out with it"

Mickey hugged right back as goofy hugged him. Goofy was right. It had been a long time. Mickey missed him. He responded kindly "Yep. It has. Long time, pal" He then patted max's shoulder "Your boy looks so much like you I sometimes have to take a double take" He meant to be pleasant and get goofy somewhat comfortable. Sure goofy wasn't like Donald where he had a tendency to freak out with anger or fear, but he could tell goofy was a tad confused and overwhelmed. He replied as max said it was a long story "Max is right it's a long story" He then was teleported by willie upstairs. Mickey wasn't surprised by willie perse but he didn't exactly like being teleported without his knowledge. He turned to willie, with a patient smile and replied "You didn't willie. Just be sure to, yknow, ask us in the future"

He then announced everyone "Goofy, this is our friends. This is Roman, Donatello, Basil of Baker Street. Oh and Max's boyfriend Leonardo. They're all really nice and---" He then turned as max told him that HE was going to introduce leo and he blushed realizing what he just done. He basically outed Leonardo and max too quickly. He then had a sheepish smile and replied "Whoops. I'm sorry"

Donny meanwhile could see both willie and leo. He had been dating with Willie since june but he absolutely found himself smitten with willie so he too smiled shyly at him. He did hold willie's free hand, the one that wasn't using magic, and squeezed it. They had been chit chatting a little as they were awake but he was with max and leo. So this was the closest thing to being alone with him again. He then nodded as willie explained the situation a little more and replied "I figured that was it" He then laughed a little as willie used his magic. He then had a fun idea that he would tell willie alone. But then he saw his brother nervous, understandable considering this was max's dad. He whispered to leo "Hey hey it'll be fine leo. I got your back bro" He then turned to hear max whisper to him and he replied "Got it"

He then facepalmed as mickey announced it rather abruptly by introducing leo and he then replied to leo, attempting to be somewhat funny "Well. Here we go. Operation be cool for overprotective dad is ago" He then stood right beside leo, willing to help him out should goofy get, well, irritable. He turned and waved as he was introduced "Nice to meet you Mr. Goofy, we've heard a lot about you"

Roman turned to basil as he was fascinated by willie's magic. He rolled his eyes, typical detective, he believed it had a logical explanation. He replied somewhat dismissively "Why it is magic, basil. Magic can exist here" He then turned to see all three come up from the basement and was a bit excited to see it was indeed goofy. He liked goofy as a boy but he preferred mickey more and more as he grew older. He waved and smiled as goofy was introduced to him. Then he snickered a little as mickey introduced them adruptly. He knew this was going to be interesting. He then heard basil joke about him and he smiled right back replying "That's why I woke up in the first place. To see if there was danger" He then fixed his hair and face "Princes, that being said, do need beauty sleep too"

[Goofy Goof]

Goofy smiled at the newcomers but when Mickey said Leonardo was Max's boyfriend he was a bit stunned.

"I didn't know you liked boys too Max." said Goofy.

He paused looking at Leonardo before walking up to him curiously.

"So you're dating my son? Well, you better take care of him." said Goofy.

He paused leaning over and whispering.

"If you hurt him I'll make sure you regret it. I was a musketeer before I had my son. So I know how to sword fight and how to take care of bad guys." whispered Goofy.

He then stepped back before speaking normally.

"Well I'm glad my son had so many people here to look after him." said Goofy.

He grinned turning back to Mickey.

"So it 's just the three of us and Willie? Pete was the first to disappear and I haven't seen him. Is here here too somewhere?" asked Goofy.

He froze hearing Willie's words and shook his head.

"And I thought he had changed." said Goofy, sadly.

He looked up at Leo as he spoke and gave him a genuine smile.

"I might just do that. No reason to give up on Pete without trying." said Goofy.

Willie blinked watching the interactions. As Goofy spoke to Leonardo he heard of what his whispers and gulped. He didn' t want to get on Goofy's bad side. Or Splinter's either. He guessed fathers were just overprotective of their children.

"You might want to talk to your brother. He looks like he might pass out or something." whispered Willie.

He paused at Goofy's words overhearing them as his smile fell.

"He's here but not in this army. You see Goofyf there is a war going on. We're in the hero army. But there are two villain armies. Pete has joined one of them." said Willie.

Leo gulped as Goofy stepped forward and when he heard his whispered threat he was really nervous. Max's father had been a musketeer. He could only nod silently that he got the message to afraid he'd say the wrong thing at the moment. But as the topic shifted to Pete he felt sorry hearing about Pete being in one of the armies.

"Maybe you can convince him to join. Some in those armies are being brainwashed or tricked into staying. If he's not being brainwashed maybe you could give him a better offer of staying here." said Leo.

He sighed in relief glad he'd made Goofy happy for the moment. But his nerves were still on edge.

"Exdcuse me. I need to step outside for a bit." said Leo.

Leo walked out to the back porch, as he grabbed the railing.

Basil raised an eyebrow.

"Magic isn't real. Just a bunch of tricks. There's always a trapdoor, mirrors or some other trick they use." said Basil.

He paused hearing Roman 's words again and he chuckled.

"I never understood that expression. Sleep is good for your body but it doesn't make you more beautiful. Although I think dear Spruce would probably think you're handsome all the time. " said Basil.

Max couldn't help but blush at his father's shock. It wasn't easy to introduce the idea of dating to his father, it was even harder to introduce the idea that he was bi. But still, he was glad to see his father wasn't exactly disgusted with him. He was just acting relatively normal. "I know. It's a bit of a surprise but it's true. I like guys too. And I think leo is really, really great. Trust me dad, you'll like him" Max replied, cautious but sincere. He didn't exactly want goofy to get in his way but he still was going to respect his father in the basic respects. He then noticed goofy confront Leonardo, and get real close to him. And from Donny, willie and leo's faces, goofy definitely threatened him. Max blushed, remembering when splinter did something similar and felt guilty for Leonardo. He saw Leonardo, after being relatively polite to his father, leave the area no doubt to get some air from the pressure.

He turned to Donny as the turtle went after him and whispered to him "Please let him know I'm sorry and that my dad means well. Please. Tell him I'll make it up and talk to my dad" He deliberately made only Donny hear it, hoping mickey and willie would distract his father somewhat. He then listened in more into the conversation as mickey, willie and goofy all talked about pete. Max was best friends with P.J and had no confirmation that he was here. So pete being here was dramatic, and kind of sad. pete must've felt alone which was why he went back to his old ways. Mickey may have not seen it that way but max certainly did. "Don't worry dad. We will find Mr. Pete and bring him back. He might feel pressured to stay there or something. There's a reason why he's there. I mean I haven't seen P.J, Pistol or Miss Peg so maybe he's alone and kind of scared" Max theorized interestedly.

Mickey felt a little guilty for rudely introducing Leonardo. It was like sending a lost sheep into the woods with wolves surrounding it. He humbled himself and said nothing, he couldn't really. It WAS his friend's son and he understood completely why he was behaving the way he was. He lost his wife, he was very loving and protective of max and was always hellbent on making sure he was okay. He didn't exactly think it was wise to scare the shell of Leonardo but he kept his mouth shut. Due to not having children of his own, he didn't think it was wise to tell a parent what to do. Plus there was also the fact Leonardo handled a ton of pressure already from being a brainwashed facilier member. It was best to keep quiet now. He looked to see goofy then introduce him and mickey went back to a normal mind set. Which was talking about general updates and how they were. And who was here. He made a relatively chagrined face as goofy asked who was here "Well. Yes. Max, you, me and willie are here. But your friend Pete....."

He made more of a disgusted face as the conversation changed from something semi personal into something immensely personal. Pete was someone he looked up to, someone he trusted. Then he tried to kill them, take Minnie away, destroy his beloved home of france. Mickey, any time pete came up, mickey would only remember that sword fight between them. With anger and fear flowing through his blood

Mickey shook his head sadly as goofy expressed sorrow for pete. Goofy was the most forgiving person he knew, which was why it broke his heart for pete, to once again, backstab him. He then remembered leo say that he could be brainwashed or tricked. But Mickey was skeptical. If he was brainwashed or tricked, wouldn't he have shown more signs to the other armies or wouldn't he have tried to escape at least once? Regardless he kept some of his inner thoughts to himself and replied "You're right goofy. We can always try. Don't worry. We'll figure something out for you. He might be able to come with us eventually" He then muttered "Though I sincerely doubt it"

Donny meanwhile was listening to the entire thing and he stood next to willie as goofy basically threatened his brother. He felt very unsettled by it but felt powerless overall. To be aggressive towards max's father was all types of screwy. He couldn't exactly do anything when splinter met max and threatened him. Sure Leonardo talked to splinter a bit afterwards but still, it happened and he was powerless then and he definitely was powerless now. Still, he knew he had to back up his brother in his own way. He then listened as willie spoke his thoughts for him and Donny gave willie a kiss on the cheek and replied "Of course I'll talk to him. Don't worry about anything willie. Let me handle it" He then gave willie's hand one more squeeze before going off to find leo. He then whispered back as max spoke to him "Max, it's fine. I get it. Leo understands, it's just a lot to take in today. I got this"

He then noticed Leonardo slightly panicking on the back porch. Donny closed the door and gently guided Leonardo to sit down "Take a deep breath bro you did great. Take a deep, deep breath for me okay?" He then helped Leonardo come near him and he gave him a sympathetic pat on the shell "I know this is a lot for you. But trust me, you did great. It's never easy to meet the parent. But I promise I, Max and everybody's got your back" He then replied "Max told me to tell you he'll talk to goofy about it later. He's got your back" He then tried to be funny, to make leo calm down, replying sarcastically "Overprotective dads are so much fun am I right?"

"Basil, basil, basil, basil. You are thinking too much from up there" Roman replied sincerely, with his finger pointing to basil's brain. He then pointed to basil's heart "When you should be thinking from here" He then replied, holding basil near him and replied "Magic is very real my friend. You just got to find it. And have faith, trust and...." He then did a cute little twirl, fluttering his hands dramatically "Pixie dust!" He then realized basil incorrectly said bruce's name but he blushed nonetheless as basil assured him bruce liked him no matter what. He then replied "It's because if you look well rested you look less unapproachable I guess" He then replied "Also it's Bruce. But whatever I don't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning"

[Goofy Goof]

Inside:

Goofy smiled.

"Well I'm just glad it wasn't Bradley. That guy was a jerk and that's the only guy I'd never want you to be with." said Goofy.

He paused glancing out at the turtles on the patio and back at Max and felt slightly guilty.

"I overdid it again, didn't I? I'm sorry Maxie. I feel like I just got you back. But if he's good enough for y ou, he's good enough for me." said Goofy.

He paused hearing Mickey and Willie and sighed.

"It appears we need to do some rescues. Whoever's trapped in the other armies we have to free them. For Pete's sake I hope he's one of them. If not..... he's going to be a prisoner. I won't let him die. He's a father and a husband. Peg, Pistol and PJ would be devastated if he was killed. I could never face them again. Besides if he has gone evil again, death would be too good for him." said Goofy.

He paused flashing back to that night on the bridge.

"Your chains of love now hold me tight.
Your bovine beauty makes my heart take flight." sang Goofy.

"You will not change my mind one smige.
I'm going to drop you screaming off this bridge."

Goofy shuddered at the memory. He hadn't blamed Clarabelle and if things had gone different she might be Max's mother right now. But Pete had ordered him to do it. Since then chains and water had terrified him. He'd been in so love with Clarabelle at the time the adrenaline had made him focus on that and not the danger. He had forgiven both Clarabelle and Pete that day but not the Beagle Boys. They had shown no remorse and were cousins to the Beagle Boys that later went onto attack Scroocge McDuck and his family in Duckberg.

"No matter what he 's my friend. Whether he's there by choice or force I'm going to bring him back." said Goofy.

Willie smiled as the turtles went out. Hearing Goofy he shook his head.

"No you didn't. You're just being a father. Parents are always protective of their kids. Splinter was that way for me when I started dating Donny." said Willie.

Basil shook his head.

"Magic isn't real. It's just all smoke and mirrors and wires. I'm sure I'll figure it out." said Basil.

He chuckled as he mentioned his rest.

"Perhaps. Although back home I was lucky if I got a few hours sleep. A detective's job is never done." said Basil.

He shruggd at the correction.

"Right. Moose. My apologies." said Basil.

Porch:

Leo looked up seeing Donny arrive and sighed.

"I know but Max didn't tell me his father could be so intimidating. I'd rather face all 3 of those digital Shredders again than this." said Leo.

Leo sighed.

"I guess I'd probably be the same if I had a kid." said Leo.

Max's gaze went from Donny to Goofy. Max softened his gaze as his father immediately apologized. Willie commented a bit for him which made Max feel a bit guilty. Max chuckled about the Bradley comments, replying "Trust me. I would never date a jerk like him" Max then went over, putting his hand on his father's shoulder "No, no, listen Dad. Leo is just a guy who just wants approval a lot. And he's really good to me, I promise. You were just trying to look out for me. Especially since you just got here" Max blushed, rubbing his head "I was going to tell you after you settled in but I guess you knowing now is better" He smiled as Goofy expressed approval "I'm glad you approve, Dad. I promise Leo is a good guy" Max shrugged "I can't blame you for being nervous. We're in a dangerous situation with this war going on" He decided to settle more with his father before delving deeper into the Leo situation. He would talk to Leo later and apologize in his own way.

Max looked down as Goofy talked more and more about Pete. This made Max nervous too. Max and Pete were awkward but Max did care for Pete. Mostly because P.J was his friend since they were kindergarteners. For P.J's sake he hoped Pete was a good guy. For P.J's sake he would fight for Pete back. Max nodded as Goofy spoke "My dad's right. We can't give up on Mr. Pete. Bad guy or not, we gotta bring him back" Max widened his eyes as his father seemed quite stunned by something. As if he got a terrible, traumatic flashback. Max went over, asking gently "Dad, you okay? You seem spooked" Max felt protective of his father in his own right, asking "You want to sit down or something?"

Mickey allowed Max and Goofy to chat but processed all of Goofy's ideas on Pete. Mickey had to force down his resentments. Mickey had to try to give Pete the benefit of the doubt. Despite his distrust and pain, Goofy had known Pete longer. Goofy did co-exist with him longer than Mickey did. Goofy would have a bit more experience. Mickey was still, in essence, a person who liked to be positive just like Goofy was. Mickey sighed before replying "Honestly, Goofy, I have my issues with Pete but if you think he's changed then I'll fight for him. We'll get him back. We'll let HIM explain himself" Mickey widened his eyes as he saw Goofy act a bit strange. Mickey saw the look in Goofy's eyes that was similar to his own. Wanting to avoid making Goofy panic, he listened to Max and replied to add onto it "Yeah Goof, do you need a cup of water? You seem a bit pale. Sorry to hover, you just got here. I'm just looking out for you"

Mickey nodded as Goofy seemed determined to get Pete. Mickey softened his gaze, patting Goofy's back "We will get him, Goofy. Don't worry. We will find him" Mickey sighed "For your sake and his family's I really hope my resentments about him are wrong"

Roman clutched his heart dramatically as Basil insisted magic wasn't real. Roman pointed a finger right at Basil "I'll prove it to you! I will get you to learn magic IS real! Fairy Godmother will help me prove it! I'll be right back!" Roman then left to try to find Verna, ignoring that Basil referred to Bruce as Moose.

Meanwhile at the Porch

Donny nodded, chuckling a bit "Yeah that's always never fun. I was nervous when Splinter met Willie. He did something similar. I guess it's just a overprotective dad thing" Donny replied gently "Max probably didn't expect Goofy to do that to be fair. He did mention his dad I'm sure, right?" Donny patted his brother's back, replying "It'll work out. Goofy meant well I think" Donny sighed, shrugging "I'd probably be nervous of my kid's boyfriend or girlfriend too. I'd probably be similar. It's just a sign that you care"
