Monsters and Creations(Bender)

[Alucard]

(OCC: Bad, bad title. Rivalry thread between Bender and Alucard. March 13th, late afternoon. Hope this is ok for you, bender)

The vampire, seeing the sun ready to set in a couple hours, found it appropriate to observe the place he was currently staying. He had only been here for just a day yet he found this place surprisingly fascinating. A majority of humans here were unlike any mortal yet they did not become monsters. They weren't above the monsters, nor below, they weren't monsters. They were humans who were using supernatural means. Integra did that, Anderson did that, Walter did that, hell the major himself did that. It wasn't new. So these people were more common and they had different personalities. Some were arrogant, others were regal. Some were superior, others just used it as a means to defense. 

There was one member though. Who was not a human yet interested, and annoyed, Alucard to no end. Bender. The robot. So arrogant and sure of himself it was rather disgusting. Yet Alucard, despite what many believed, had some sort of self hatred. He knew he was not man enough to be himself and so became the monster he was. A creature of the night that many people hated, feared, or knew. Bender was similar to many of Alucard's past rivals. They were secure in what they were and despite the odds, would not back down.

This angered, amazed, interested, annoyed, and fascinated Alucard. He wanted to know more about Bender. He wanted to know if the robot had any weaknesses besides his personality. He wanted to know what made the robot scream, what made the robot beg, what made the robot cry out. Anything about the robot was for Alucard's study and curiosity.

Which was why when the robot was minding his own business, the vampire glided over to him. Almost like a snake-like slither. Whatever bender was doing, it was about to be interrupted by the observant count.

Indeed, Bender was minding his own business.  This was what he tended to do while shit wasn't hitting the fan.  The bot wasn't exactly allowed to go out and party - apparently it would cause some kind of a panic should a random robot just show up to the local nightclubs or some bull.  But if the big bads said he couldn't do something - he couldn't do it...except when he did.  So, in order to pass time, Bender would drink away his nights.  Being a robot, Bender didn't actually get drunk.  Or did he?  He acted drunk all he time in spite of whether or not the could get intoxicated like humans did, so what did it matter?  These days, he pretty much kept to himself so most of the army members were spared from his obnoxiousness.  This merciful act might have been a sign of respect for his allies, since Bender knew full well they didn't often appreciate his antics unless they were against the enemy.  Or, conversely, Bender might have done this because he thought he was too "cool" for everyone else.  Probably the later.

It was during one of Bender's drinking binges that he managed to spot the powerful vampire slink out toward him.  Bender hadn't the slightest clue how long Alucard may have been watching him.  But ask Bender if he cared.  The feeling the robot had when he realized the other was there was surprisingly neutral.  Bender didn't exactly consider Alucard an enemy.  Sure, Bender didn't like the vampire, since he was actually capable of winning in a banter fight, but it wasn't like Bender hated him.  Bender just said mean, nasty, immoral things - even to his friends.  It was, apparently, a part of his programming.

The robot just tilted the whisky bottle he was holding as a sort of curt greeting.

"Wassup Drac?"

[Alucard]

(OCC: I'm constantly tempted to have alucard eventually show Bender what he can do. Scare the shit out of people XD)

Immediately, Alucard felt the all too familiar annoyance come back. Yet he kept the smile on his face, fangs bared out dangerously. It seemed no matter what the vampire did, Bender was not going to be fazed. Well, today was the day to test that. He observed the robot, seeing the alcoholic beverage in his hand. Alucard, even alive, never drank. He did plenty of things, drinking beer was not one of them. He knew it was alcoholic though, seeing Bender act slightly more annoying than usual.

Nevertheless, Alucard's tone was pleasant, almost sickingly so "Ah. Nothing much my fine metal contraption" Until Bender gave him respect, his name would not be uttered by the vampire. Alucard chuckled "So you seem to be in a productive mood today, aren't you?" Of course it was a sarcastic jab. The game had begun. Alucard had to admit, despite himself, Bender's confidence was actually refreshing.

Bender had to admit, he wasn't that bothered about being disturbed.  Even if the point of his little break was to be alone, he assumed he could've been yelled at for being a lazy turd.  Bender totally admitted to the fact that he was a lazy turd, but it was just such a hassle to have it pointed out over and over again.  It wasn't like he was ever going to change.  Given how Alucard wasn't telling him to get back to work - as if there was any work to be done at such an hour - Bender decided he might as well show his gratitude by being tolerant.  Hopefully he'd at least be entertained.

"Is that sarcasm I hear?" Bender asked in a sly tone, nearly sounding appreciative of it.

Bender spun the booze in one hand.  Nothing fell out due to it already being empty.

"There ain't nothin' to do around here anyway.  I just show up for the big fights - otherwise, forget it!  Hahahaha!  That's pretty much the only excitement I get."

[Alucard]

"Ah yes. You really do have good hearing, metal contraption" Alucard responded. His smile was less dangerous here. The robot wasn't being provoking anymore, only being a part of Alucard's personal test. The vampire watched as the robot cooly spun the beer bottle with a hand, this robot seriously had plenty of courage. That alone was certain. It seemed bender didn't care what anyone thought of any display he made. Alucard couldn't help but admire that.

"You are interested in battle? Wonderful. This war should be perfect for you!" Alucard responded, surprisingly pleased to hear Bender liked war. Alucard did too in some sense. The vampire laughed proudly "I couldn't agree more with you on that, robot. Once the battles truly get dangerous, that is when blood will be shed and all the cowards and wastes of life be destroyed!" His body became more casual as he mentioned what he felt the war would result to. Despite wanting to observe Bender's pet peeves or weaknesses, what was the harm in enjoying himself with his new rival?

"Aww yeah!  I love some good old fashioned violence!" Bender hollered, perhaps a bit too enthusiastically, "Hahahaa!"

He wouldn't deny it.  After all, he meant what he said about the fights being about the only thing he found exciting.  Although, Bender's enjoyment of battle had little to it beyond big loud noises, explosions and other such things he deemed "manly".  Bender didn't want to prove anything about his enemies in the war -- except that he was subjectively better than them.  Philosophy wasn't exactly the vulgar robot's thing.  Bender probably wouldn't understand Alucard's reasons for enjoying war even if he had them explained to him.

"I've been in a few big brawls since coming here," he added in a bragging tone, before continuing, "You know, if it wasn't for all the violence, I would have ditched all these guys.  Every bot for himself!  As a matter of fact, I don't even care who's side I'm on as long as I get a steady stream of vices."

The robot shrugged.  It was completely true.  Bender could care less about any of the so-called "goals" these armies had.  He was a freeloading junk-heap; what about it?

[Alucard]

The robot was surprisingly sadistic it seemed. This thought made Alucard smile. They should get along nicely when the two weren't entirely butting heads. But it seemed violence was the overall interest and not for honor. That was where the vampire and robot would differ. Alucard fought for glory, Bender fought because it was fun.

"Have you now? Care to tell me how your enemies were suffering or how they were screaming for mercy?" Alucard's curiosity and sadism were being shown here clearly. He then listened as Bender exclaimed he didn't really care what side he was on so long as he got what he wanted. That made Alucard cock his head a little, so this robot had no loyalty at all? He had no arrogance or anger or even frustration, just plain curiosity "Hm. Then what do you want to accomplish overall in this war? Or is it all just a fun game to you? Be honest with me, robot"
