A Lovely Night (Steve)

(ooc: March 8th. Evening. Steve/Carly date thread.)

Carly wasn't dressed in her normal clothes. Today she was dressed in a black sleeveless dress that wasn't too tight. It did show more of her legs than normal but she knew Steve was from a different era. So she didn't want to pressure him too much. Plus they hadn't gone on many dates so she wanted each one to as special as they could. Although anytime with him was special to her. Talking with Jane the other day had made her realize how special he was to her. She would never have considered leaving this world before but now she knew she would. She wanted to tell him today as well if she got the nerve. She paused walking out to the living room waiting for Steve to join her. She got a lot of wolf whistles and stares as she grinned flattered at the attention. She then took a seat on the couch waiting for Steve to join her.

Steve was dressed how the others thought he was supposed to be dressed: In a nice black tuxedo with a black bowtie and his hair all dressed back. Nervousness was in Steve's systems but courage over-weighed his nervousness. He wanted this night to be very fun and pleasant for Dr. Tease, because she was one of those girls that deserved all the best treatment. The captain couldn't help but realize how important Carly, Tease, was to him and he had a feeling that she was exactly the same way with him as he was with her. Her courage, intelligence and ability to be kind were just few of the many reasons why he cared for her. So as he went downstairs, he heard people wolf whistle and he blushed, having a good feeling Dr. Tease was going to look stunning.

He went down and his instincts were 100% correct. She was more than stunning. She looked heavenly. Steve's heart raced and his blush intensified. Steve gulped before he went into stuttering but he kept himself together "Wow. Carly. You look incredible" Incredible? To say the very least. He coughed and responded "Are you ready to go?"

Carly grinned as he walked in. He was blushing and stuttering. He was adorable. She stood up and walked up to him. She grinned at his compliment.

"Thank you. You look handsome yourself. The last date we had was so long ago. I know I get busy in the lab and you get busy training. But I do miss you. Even if it's a quiet dinner at home for two. Or hanging out at a coffee shop. Dressing up like this is nice but I wouldn't mind if we were dressed in our pajamas watching movies as long as I got to spend more time with you." said Carly.

She knew it was partially her fault as she'd wrapped herself up in her work. But she was used to men asking her out and making the first move. She guessed she would have to be more assertive and ask the good captain on dates if she wanted to spend more time with him. That is if he didn't surprise her with more dates like this. She nodded.

"I'm ready to go. So where are we headed? Or is that a secret?" asked Carly.

Being called handsome was a thing Steve really enjoyed, especially since it came out of carly's opinion. He nodded in agreement "Yeah. It has been a long time. I missed you a lot. Luckily tonight will make us catch up and I promise to be more attentive. I'm sorry about my part" Steve said softly. He felt bad just as much as Carly did. He was so worked up with the war, he ignored the people he cared about. He didn't want that. At all

When carly asked him where they were going to go, Steve decided to be fun and responded "Oh it's a surprise. Can't tell you. I can only show you. So let's go" Steve responded cheerfully. He quickly took her arm and out they went ignoring the wolf whistles people did for Dr. Tease as they went. As they walked, Steve hoped his surprise would actually work.

[Dr. Carly Tease]

Carly grinned.

"It's ok. We both got busy. We're together now and that's what's important. Although I might not want to go back to the lab after tonight." said Carly.

She smirked as he said it was a surprise

"A surprise? Well you're just full of surprises, aren't you? I look forward to it. But just so you know I want to be with you. It doesn't have to be like this every time. I'd be happy eating in the backyard or even in the house as long as we're together." said Carly.

It was weird. Her longest relationship was with Steve. Other relationships had usually ended or she wasn't looking for love. But she had fallen for Steve. She paused as they walked out and she chuckled waving goodbye to the others as they left. As they walked away he paused at her.

"Well, you're not the only with a surprise tonight. I've doing some thinking and I talked to Jane about it. You see I know one day you'll have to go back to your world. And well I want to go with you. I don't want our relationship to end. And I'd miss Jane, Tony, and the others too. There may not be a way back. I'd miss my friends here but I'd miss you more so don't try to talk me out of it." said Carly.

She paused leaning forward giving him a long and passionate kiss on the lips before he could react. She pulled back and grinned.

"So do I need to be blindfolded or are you just going to lead me to where we're going?" said Carly.

"Oh well that's good but don't abandon your hard-work because of me though" Steve said nervously, trying to not sound negative but he didn't ever want to make Dr. Tease feel bad for working. Then again he felt bad for not spending enough time with her. He smiled though as she kept talking, affectionate in tone "Indeed I am madame. But I understand completely, I just felt like treating you to something really special tonight is all"

"Wait what--" Steve said as Dr. Tease confessed to wanting to go back to his world before kissing him. He took in the kiss before taking in her words. He looked down then back to her and saw complete comittment and seriousness in her eyes "I want you to come with me too but like you said there might not be a way to see your friends again. Are you really sure? I want you to be really sure before doing such risks. Not that I don't want you to go with me, I do but I really don't want you to leave close ones behind just for me" Steve said, soft in tone and affectionate in looks

"Nah, I was just gonna walk you there. Isn't blindfolding a bit old-fashioned?" Steve said, genuinely curious about what he said. Feeling strange about saying it was one thing, feeling strange about that being wrong was another.

[Dr. Carly Tease]

Carly grinned at him.

"I can work in any lab. It'd be nice to research in another world but I don't want to be without you in this world. That's why I want to go with you." said Carly.

She smiled at him.

"I'm glad. You treat me special all the time. You make me feel like a princess and you're my knight in shining armor." said Carly.

She grinned as he returned the kiss. She paused at his words and smiled.

"I'm choosing a life with you Steve. I hope I get to see them again but if I don't I still have you and the Avengers and Jane and a whole new world to discover. I'll be happy as long as I have you. You lost your friends, and your whole life while being frozen in that ice so you know what I'm going through. You didn't have a choice but I do. And I choose you." said Carly.

She chuckled at him.

"I suppose it is. Let's go in and have some fun. Just the two of us as it should be. Although when we get back I might have to speak to Nick Fury. You're getting days off from now on mister. I don't want the only times to see you when there's no disaster because that could take weeks." said Carly

She kissed him again and took his hand walking with him into the restaurant.

"I'm glad you're not giving up your passions for me. That's the last thing I want you to do" Steve said sincerely. He then smiled "Well I'm glad I'm the handsome hero in your story" He then kissed her a little more as she kissed him once more. He really did care about her more than anything.

"I do want you to come with me. I'm glad you chose me. I'm glad you're planning to come with me because I don't want to be anywhere where you're not" Steve said, convinced by Carly's words. He smiled affectionately "I understand. I'm glad you want to be with me. I want to be with you too" He smiled more, glad to have her with him. He then chuckled as Carly said she was going to make sure he got tons of breaks after this. That nick fury would have to deal with other people. "Well then. I'm going to enjoy seeing you rant to Director Fury"

He then guided her into the restaurant. Thanks to tony and a few others help on the internet, he found this fancy restaurant in town. It was quite expensive admittedly but Tony offered it, his treat. Steve made sure to thank him if all went well. As they went inside, the waiter came in and responded "Good evening madame and sir. I have a reservation for Mr. Rogers. That is you yes?"

"Yes sir" Rogers said firmly

"Right this way" The waiter walked and Steve, with Carly in tow, followed him to a nice table.

Carly grinned at Steve. She looked at him geninunely as she replied back to him.

"But you are my passion, Steve. I dedicated my life to science and had very few friends. Sure I dated but I never found someone I really liked. Until I met you. So losing you would be like losing a part of myself and I don't want that." said Carly .

Carly grinned again.

"You're always the hero in my story. I wouldn't want anyone else." said Carly.

She grinned as they were kissing again and she enjoyed it. She grinned as he talked to her again.

"Well I can still work with SHIELD or with Jane so I'm not giving up science completely. I'm just saying goodbye to a few friends is all. But I'm sure I'll be happy as long as I have you." said Carly.

Carly grinned at him.

"I'm sure you would. He has other agents after all. He shouldn't put you on too many missions all the time." said Carly.

Carly grinned as they arrived at the restaurant and Steve even had a reservation. The waiter led them to their table as she chuckled.

"You certainly planned this evening out. Very impressive." said Carly.

"You don't have to lose me. I'm not going anywhere" Steve assured as Carly confessed that Steve became a huge part in her life. She then called him a hero and he replied with a smile "Well you're my best girl" He enjoyed kissing her a bit more and nodded "Well we did need new scientists. Jane was considering it but she is still a bit sore that they took her private work. I don't entirely blame her"

"No he shouldn't but sometimes the mission is pretty extreme for new agents and I get called in" Steve said with a rather indifferent shrug. They went to their table and he shrugged "Well I should impress a very impressive lady" He made a small note to thank Tony for his help but for now he was egotistical enough to take the credit.

Carly smiled at him.

"You'd better not." said Carly.

Her smile grew as Steve said she was his best girl.

"I'm glad to hear that." said Carly.

Carly shrugged.

"I can't blame her for that. No scientist wants their work stolen or destroyed. It's personal to us. Like our child." said Carly.

Carly frowned at that.

"If they can't handle a mission without you they should shut down the agency. Other superheroes get downtime after all. You can't be a superhero 24/7 or you'll wear yourself off." said Carly.

Carly grinned again at him as she sat down with him.

"You certainly know how to flatter a girl." said Carly.

She smiled looking for the menu.

"So what's good to eat here?" asked Carly.

"I wont. Especially not without you" Steve smiled assuringly. He was glad Tease was more flattered with him as this went on. He nodded about Jane and her bitterness towards shield "I can share her resentments. SHIELD isn't always the most trustworthy or honest of places"

"Oh don't worry. Fury can handle himself every once in a while. He told Tony that once when Tony not-so-sutbly hinted that he was getting too old" Steve shrugged with a amused smile. He shook his head "Honestly, tony is similar to his father. A bit obnoxious but he means well"

"Well you're worthy of being flattered" Then the two sat down and checked the menus "I heard the tapia and steaks are pretty impressive"

Carly smiled.

"Perhaps we can open our own Scientific division. Like Jane could be head of it or something. While working for SHIELD they could give her more leeway or something. Just a suggestion. I wouldn't mind working for her." said Carly.

Carly chuckled.

"I'm sure he can." said Carly.

Carly smirked.

"He certainly does." said Carly.

She blushed as Steve said she was worthy of being flattered.

"Well thank you." said Carly.

Carly nodded.

"That sounds good. Let's try that then." said Carly.
