When Two Hearts Meet

IHeart was a bit shocked over the fact she just got a job with TGWTG. It sounded like a hard place to get into but she did. At the age of 16. It was odd for a girl, at 16, to be successful and because of this many viewers spoke doubt and mentions of superiority. But the minute she posted her first review, people raved and started to welcome her in. Now though, she was back in her home in chicago, walking through the woods and was minding her business

Suddenly a sound came and it sounded strangely like a human voice. A young man's voice. A voice that nobody she knew had. Maybe she should investigate. Quickly, IHeart ran over to see a young teen boy humming while sitting by a tree. It was odd but she couldn't help but like it

[Ma-Ti]

Ma-Ti had been walking around the forest feeling more at home here. Gaia's home had been on an island and well he couldn't really find that. So this reminded him of his old home in the forest in his world. He sat down next to a tree humming enjoying himself. He'd met Critic during his Captain Planet review and the guy had accused him of not being the real Ma-Ti to his annoyance. He'd punched him and left just annoyed with him. He turned hearing footsteps as he saw a girl. He looked up at her smiled.

"Hello. I'm Ma-Ti from Captain Planet. And you're..."

He paused trailing off as he recognized her.

"Hey. I know you. You're Iheart. One of the new reviewers for That Guy With The Glasses website. I just recently cameoed in a review by the Nostalgia Chick of Captain Planet. No wait. He was a guy. That name can't be right. Oh well. I'm sure I'll remember it later." said Ma-Ti.

[IHeart]

"Nostalgia CRITIC actually. But that's alright, he has a similar name to Nostalgia Chick huh?" IHeart smiled. She already liked this kid, he seemed quite nice and he was more interested in being that way instead of showing a cocky attitude. Then again the two just met and this was a weird place to meet. The woods was not a high school or anything like that obviously. IHeart then blushed as he remembered her from the website. She waved shyly and responded "That's me. Weird name I know. You wouldn't like my real name. It sounds like a old woman's"

[Ma-Ti]

Ma-Ti smiled at her. At least she didn't laugh him off as a nutcase or believe he wasn't the real Ma-Ti like Critic did.

"Nostalgia Critic. That's it. Thanks Iheart." said Ma-Ti.

He paused looking at her.

"So did you watch my show? Captain Planet and the Planeteers. It ran for six seasons I believe here. Although they didn't show all our adventures I think. And our adventures didn't stop because the show did." said Ma-Ti.

He paused looking at her as she smiled.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl." said Ma-Ti.

he blushed realizing what he'd just said and coughed as he stood up dusting himself off.

"So do you live around here?" asked Ma-Ti.

"I'm sorry. I never saw your show. Though my dad mentions it. I think he said you were his favorite, since you were a person who didn't NEED a power but had kindness or something" IHeart stated before hearing Ma-Ti's off-side comment about her beauty. She blushed bright red at the mention of that and giggled shyly. Quickly, she looked around and laughed "Yeah, rainy old chicago. Been living here for quite a while now"

She frowned. This caused her to think he had no place to go. Quick to make sure that wasn't the case she asked "You have a home here? I mean you were here for a while" She then coughed awkwardly "Sorry if I'm being pushy"

[Ma-Ti]

Ma-Ti sighed.

"It's ok. And what do you mean I didn't have a power? I had telepathy. I could talk to animals and I talked to the other planeteers? We were seperated so many times without my ring we wouldn't have been able to summon Captain Planet and been stopped years ago. Gaia herself said it's the most powerful of all. Zarm an evil spirit twisted my friends once with dark gloves that used the powers of nature and were stronger than their rings. They nearly blew up a nuclear power planet but Gaia and I were able to get through to them and together with Captain Planet were able to stop Zarm. But don't underestimate the power of heart." said Ma-Ti.

He paused as she mentioned Chicago.

"Chicago huh. I've sort of been staying in the woods until I got a home." said Ma-Ti.

He paused thinking of Ask That Guy who had indeed given him a place to stay when he had no one. He had a spare room he could stay in so he was grateful. Still the guy was creepy and hopefully he could find a new place soon.

"Oh yeah, you do have powers! Crap, I'm really sorry! Dad DID say that, it just didn't come to me at the moment!" IHeart said as she remembered the fact he DID have powers just not ones that were obvious. She blushed, feeling that she was offending him, regardless she tried to make light of the situation. She then listened as Ma-Ti responded that he did have a place but was in the woods for a while. She felt a bit sorry that he was in that situation but smiled regardless, relieved that the boy wasn't forced into the woods like some animal.

She shrugged and responded "Well, since you're around, you're welcome to visit me or something. If you wanted that is. I mean, well, I.... Damnit. Sorry, I have a rough time talking to people"

[Ma-Ti]

Ma-Ti nodded smiling a little glad she acknowledged he had a power and realizing he had overdone it a little. He looks at her apologetically.

"Sorry. It's just I hated that I didn't get a cool power like the others. And I'm made fun of so many times by people who barely watched the show. I mean why are Jean Grey and Professor Xavier from the X-Men have tons of fans but I'm picked on. We have the same power!" said Ma-Ti.

He sighed but seeing her blush slightly when he mentioned she was beautiful made him blush a little again. He had flattered her which was good but he hadn't meant to say that out loud. Thankfully she helped him change the subject.

"It's okay. I've got nothing else to do. Maybe you could bounce off review ideas see if you want to do any? Or we could just watch a movie or something. That is if it's okay with your parents. You'd be bringing home a stranger you just met and all." said Ma-Ti.

"I can't entirely understand that type of logic myself. I guess they were better introduced or something. Well, you have that power and that's cool in my book" IHeart responded, feeling the need to assure him. She didn't know why but she really was starting to like him and the need to hang out with him increased. So she wanted to invite him to her house, after all, she had nothing to do and it was confirmed neither did he. She responded assuringly "Nah, my dad loves people. I'm sure he wouldn't mind, as long as I introduce you. Oh and he's my only parent so that helps also" She couldn't help but wince slightly. It was never really easy to remember the fact her mother was not around. She didn't know where her mother was. Dead, missing, just somewhere else. It didn't matter that much. So she changed the subject quickly "So you wanna come now? I was going to need a special cameo for my next review anyway"

[Ma-Ti]

Ma-Ti nodded dropping the subject of his powers for now.

"You're right. And thanks." said Ma-Ti.

He smiled as he listened to her. She was cool and wasn't judging him on his age or his power. He was sure he'd have fun hanging out with her. He paused as she winced about her mother.

"I know what it's like to miss your parents. I lost my parents when I was five. They were trapped in our home and it was on fire. They didn't make it." said Ma-Ti.

He paused and turned way wiping tears from his face wishing he had more time with them. He looked back at her and smiled.

"I stayed with the village chief after that until I became a Planeteer. And now I'm stuck in this world with no way back home." said Ma-Ti.

He paused as she said it would be okay to hang out with her and she might want a cameo in her next review.

"Sure. I've got nothing else to do. Sounds like fun." said Ma-Ti.

IHeart paled at the description of Ma-Ti's past, she would've explained that her mother LEFT her but this was really harsh for Ma-Ti to admit. She patted his shoulder, unsure how to assure him anymore but her face was full of compassion and sorrow for him "I'm so sorry. I didn't know" Then he changed the subject, and this caused her to smile again before responded "Alright! Then follow me!"

With that she walked beside Ma-Ti to a pathway which lead to her house. She was excited, she didn't really have much friends over. It would be fun. Really fun. Plus she wouldn't need to convince someone to make a cameo

Ma-Ti smiled weakly and nodded.

"It's ok. It helps to talk about them. And keeps them alive in my memory. A part of me is afraid of forgetting what they look like so I try to remember what I can every day. The good and the bad." said Ma-Ti.

It had been 9 years since they had died and a few years since he'd joined the Planeteers. He wasn't sure if he'd see them again either. But at least he'd found a new friend in Iheart. He turned to her as she told him to follow her.

"Lead the way then." said Ma-Ti.

He smiled walking beside her as they headed off to her house. It'd be fun to hang out with someone closer to his own age again. He just hoped her dad was okay with it as she said he was.

The house IHeart lived in looked like was big enough for two or three people to live in. It was a quaint house, with a blue roof and white painting all over the outside. IHeart allowed Ma-Ti to take the outside in and responded "This house is like the TARDIS. Bigger on the inside. Come on!" She happily, and absentmindedly, grabbed his arm and ran to the front door. And inside they were in the main living room. Where a big TV was along with a big but quaint couch. She laughed and responded "This is the living room, or as I like to call it my dad's secret place" She allowed Ma-Ti to check the room out "Dad's probably in the basement. I'll go get him. Wait here" She ran then to the basement to find him

[Ma-Ti]

Ma-Ti looking at her curiously.

"What's the TARDIS?" asked Ma-Ti.

He shrugged it off and followed her inside. He smiled looking at the place. He heard her and nodded.

"It's a cool place. Alright I'll be on the sofa." said Ma-Ti.

When she left he took a seat on the sofa waiting for Iheart to return. He was a bit nervous though and hoped her dad was as nice as she said he was. He didn't want to cause trouble. Not sure how long their conversation would be he found the remote and turned the tv on flipping channels until he found a cartoon station and started watching Looney Tunes.

"Dad?" IHeart said as she reunited with her father. She hoped that her dad was open-minded about Ma-Ti. She didn't want to screw this up for her new friend. She heard looney tunes upstairs and ignored it waiting for her dad

Her father, doing some ironing, smiled and responded back "Hey kitten. What's up?"

"Uh, dad. I have a new friend that I invited over. I want you to meet him" IHeart began but it caused her dad to look teasingly suspicious

"Well now. You have a boyfriend?" Her dad joked

"No dad" IHeart laughed nervously "He and I just met. He's upstairs. Can you meet him?"

"Sure. I hope he's not obnoxious" Dad responded as IHeart yanked him up the stairs and to the living room. IHeart finally saw Ma-Ti calmly sitting on the couch. IHeart chuckled and responded "This is Ma-Ti dad. Ma-Ti, this is my dad"

At first her dad looked calmly at the boy, then he chuckled "You don't know captain planet by any chance eh?" He then chuckled and offered his hand "Nice to meet you, young man. I hope you plan on getting to know my daughter before doing anything date-related"

"DAD!" IHeart said embarrassed. She blushed to her new friend and mouthed 'I'm so sorry'
